00:00 Hi guys and welcome to DriveSpark, I'm Prameet and we are here in Pune and we are driving
00:10 this, now this is the all-new Tata Harrier and let me give you a quick walk around and
00:15 tell you what all do you get on this car because a lot has changed on the outside as well as
00:20 on the inside.
00:21 Let's quickly start this video.
00:29 So now let's start talking about the front end of the car and the very first thing you
00:33 will notice is that the DRL setup is new.
00:36 Now there are a lot of things that are new in the front fascia of the car.
00:39 Now first of all you can see that the grille is completely new and it has got these chrome
00:43 accents, looks really awesome.
00:46 You get a front parking camera over here, this is your headlight unit where you have
00:50 a bi-functional LED projector for the high beam and the low beam, this acts as your cornering
00:55 lights and your fog lights and you also have vents cut out over here for better aerodynamics.
01:01 Now the front you can see that there's a mix and match of piano black and there's some
01:06 amount of matte black over there as well but overall this piano black with this colour,
01:12 now this colour is called the sunlit yellow and as you can see over here, it is looking
01:18 fantastic.
01:20 So yeah, this actually is completely new, the front fascia of the car with the new grille
01:25 and you can see it has got front parking sensors as well.
01:29 So now let's move on to the side profile and over here you will see that this has got these
01:33 new 18-inch alloy wheels from Bridgestone and this has got these arrow kind of a design,
01:40 looks pretty nice.
01:41 You also get body cladding all over, you get your Harrier badging over here.
01:46 Just let me unlock the car.
01:48 So this is the key to the new Harrier and once you unlock the car, I mean right now
01:57 I have kept the DRLs on but they have got dynamic indicators as well.
02:01 So once you unlock it obviously the mirrors also unlock, again piano black finish over
02:06 here, you got your dynamic indicators on the mirror, you also get blind spot monitoring
02:14 if you can see over here, yes, you can see over here, you get a blind spot monitoring
02:19 and again there is no chrome present on this car, even the roof rail is finished in black
02:24 as you can see.
02:26 Window trims are all matte black, actually the car looks really fantastic from the side
02:31 if you see it and you got request sensors on either side of the front door, passenger
02:37 as well as the driver and you can see that the body lines actually run from here and
02:41 goes all the way to the taillight.
02:44 Now it should be running from here but again you have this line and then this splits up
02:48 and the line starts from here and goes all the way to the back.
02:52 Now overall if you see it's got a slightly sloping roof line and that is because it is
02:56 a five seater, it does not require space at the rear for seven seats.
03:00 So that's why it has this kind of a sloping roof line and yeah, overall the design has
03:06 not changed but a lot of elements on the outside as well as the inside has changed.
03:11 Now let's quickly go to the rear and this is how the rear section looks like, again
03:14 you get a new LED taillight, you can see it splits open and it also, it's a connected
03:19 taillight over here, so you can see that the taillight again like the front DRL is connected,
03:25 you get piano black finishing over here, you get your Harrier badging and you have again
03:30 piano black finishing on the scuff plate as well.
03:33 Now this also gets electric boot and to open the boot, I'll just show it to you, before
03:39 that see this, this is the rear fog light and the reverse light.
03:44 Now to open the boot, there are a lot of options, now first of all you have an option from the
03:48 inside, you have a request sensor that is present over here, you can open the boot through
03:53 this but you also have this option where you can just swipe and there you go, the boot
04:00 will open and you have around 445 litres of boot space, now if you need more space you
04:07 can fold down those seats and you can have more space for your luggage, since it's an
04:11 electronic boot, I just press this button and the boot will shut automatically, one
04:17 of the coolest features I like on a car and this actually sums up the exterior part, now
04:23 let's quickly move on to the inside.
04:32 This is how the interiors look now, they match with the overall exterior finishing of the
04:40 car, let me just quickly move this seat again, you got electric seats for the driver as well
04:46 as the passenger, you got seat memory for the driver, this is for your ventilated seat,
04:50 it's got cool seats, it does not get a heated seat option, this is your door panel, you
04:55 get a handle that is again finished in the body colour, that is this sunlit yellow and
05:00 again you get, this is kind of, this looks like chrome but it's actually brushed aluminium
05:05 if you have a closer look at it and again this is how the dashboard looks like.
05:11 Now let's quickly start the car, again you got a start/stop button over here, so this
05:15 is a manual car, so obviously you'll have to press the clutch in and then only it will
05:21 start, so starting off with the dashboard design as you can see over here, like the
05:26 dashboard is, I mean it's a completely new dashboard and you got two new screens over
05:31 here and here, I'll be coming back to you but you can see over here, you get these elements
05:35 on the dashboard and they actually look nice, you also get your floor mat where there is
05:40 Harrier written, again this console is, when you switch it off, it completely blanks out
05:46 the things, illuminate once the car is on, otherwise this looks like a plain screen,
05:51 let me just show it to you, if I switch it off, it looks like this and if I switch it
05:56 on, then all the buttons, they come back to life.
06:00 Now this is a 12.5-inch infotainment system, it has got wireless Apple CarPlay and Auto
06:04 and a ton of features, now we have seen the same system in the Tata Nexon EV, the new
06:10 one and over here you get a cluster, again the cluster is a full digital cluster and
06:17 gives you a lot of information about the car, this is a 10.25 and this is a 12.5, AC vents
06:24 are present over here, no surrounding elements around the AC vents, could have been a nice
06:29 finish on either ends, now you can see you get ambient light across till here and you
06:35 get it over here as well but very weird, when you open the shade, you can see that the ambient
06:42 light switches off, obviously I mean during the daytime, it will not look nice but during
06:47 night I think if that was on, it would have looked nice, again you get a full panoramic
06:52 sunroof all the way to the back and this is how the seats look like, very comfortable,
06:58 you get this contrast stitching over here, then you have your glove box, again you get
07:03 a couple of charging options that you see over here, you get 12V and you also get this,
07:07 you have a cool compartment over here, again very nice feature, cup holders, your auto
07:13 hold, your electronic park brake and this is again, I mean we've seen this on the Radha
07:18 Nexon but this is a drive selector and this has got a screen on it, so if you see over
07:23 here, if I shift the drive selector, now it is on city mode, your normal mode, yeah you
07:31 can see it says wet mode, then you have rough road mode and if you switch it back again,
07:40 you have your normal city drive mode, you have your wireless charger over here and this
07:44 is the six-speed gearbox, this is also available with a six-speed torque converter, that's
07:50 an automatic gearbox, the engine is the same, it's a 2.0-litre diesel engine that pumps
07:54 out 170bhp and 350nm of peak torque and let me quickly go back, so now coming to the rear
08:00 section, the very first thing you'll notice that this gets these shades over here, now
08:05 manual shades but gives you a lot of privacy and privacy from the sun as well, if you see
08:10 over here, you get a centre armrest, again you get two headrests but you get this attachment
08:15 where you can do this and make it rest your head, fold this back so your head does not
08:21 fall off, you do not get a third headrest for some reason, you get rear AC vents, you
08:27 get these charging sockets over here and you get rear AC vents on the B pillar, now this
08:33 does not get a seat adjustment, it does not get a second row cooling, but yeah, overall,
08:40 you can see that the fit and finish quality, everything is top-notch, the headrests look
08:45 awesome, and this will be your view from behind when you're sitting and the sunroof is open.
08:51 So yeah guys, so this was the all-new Harrier and yeah, it definitely looks really stunning.
08:59 So now we're at the driving seat of the all-new Tata Harrier and let me give you a quick engine
09:10 brief on this, so this comes in only one engine option, that's a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine,
09:16 it's the same engine as it was found on the previous generation Harrier, so it produces
09:20 around 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of peak torque, while gearbox wise, this has two gearbox
09:26 options, one, what we are driving today is the manual gearbox and the other one is a
09:29 six-speed torque converter, that's an automatic gearbox, this manual gearbox is pretty nice,
09:34 it's a short gearbox, the throws are pretty short and just one thing I had, I mean, I
09:41 know you, whoever will buy this car will get used to it, but the clutch is way too inside,
09:45 I mean, for anyone, so if you're wearing like a shoe or something, initially, it'll be a
09:49 problem for you, but then you'll get used to it.
09:51 Now, the power delivery is pretty linear, you have three different type of modes, in
09:55 fact, you have terrain modes as well and along with the terrain modes, you have eco and sport
09:59 as well, so, I mean, if you combine everything, you have everything in one cluster over here,
10:06 that is right in front of the wireless charger.
10:08 Now, on eco mode, since this is an electric steering wheel, on eco mode, the steering
10:12 wheel will become light, the throttle response will become laggy, but on the sport mode,
10:17 it will be vice versa, that means the steering wheel will become on the harder side and the
10:22 throttle response will become crisp, but we recommend you to drive it on the city or the
10:26 normal mode that is already set by default.
10:29 Now, coming to the suspension, the suspension is slightly on the softer side, since this
10:34 is an SUV, it has body roll, it has body roll since it sits high, this has a ground clearance
10:39 of about 205mm and because of that, the body roll is not felt so much at the front, but
10:46 the rear passengers might feel the body roll a little bit more because obviously, front
10:49 the engine is there, so the car is settled down at the front, but at the rear, obviously,
10:54 since there is no weight, if a single passenger or two people are sitting, then yeah, I mean,
10:59 the body roll can be felt.
11:00 NVS levels are good, they are nice, the cabin is relatively quiet, but I mean, you can hear
11:08 the diesel engine noise post, I think, 3000, 3500rpm, it slightly starts creeping in,
11:15 but it will not create an issue because I mean, if you're having a conversation with
11:18 two, three people inside the cabin.
11:21 Now, let us talk about the safety features of this vehicle.
11:24 Now, this is a feature loaded car, obviously, Tata Motors is known for their safety features.
11:29 So, first of all, this gets ADAS, as I mentioned earlier, so in the ADAS, you have a couple
11:34 of features, that is your lane keep assist, your active cruise control, you have adaptive
11:37 cruise control, you have blind spot monitoring, you have active braking and a lot more.
11:42 Now, apart from that, you also get a 360-degree camera, the camera quality is super fantastic,
11:47 it's super clear, you have other safety connected features as well, that you can connect your
11:50 phone and access that and last but not least, you have standard six airbags with this car,
11:57 but you can also opt for a seventh airbag, that's a driver's knee airbag, but that's
12:01 an option.
12:02 So, you have in total, seven airbags, if you opt for the top-end variant.
12:06 So, you will get a total of seven airbags and that will watch your back whenever and
12:10 apart from that, you have traction control and ABS and EBD and what not in this car.
12:15 So, yeah, guys, this was the all-new Tata Harrier and this car is available in four
12:23 variants and six colour options.
12:25 Now, the colour that you see over here, I've mentioned it before also, but this looks absolutely
12:29 stunning and this is called the Sunlit Yellow.
12:33 So, I think I've explained the car well to you, if you need to know anything else about
12:36 this vehicle, please mention it down in the comment section and we will get back to you
12:39 on that.
12:40 So, this is Rahul for me, signing out, see you next time, thanks so much for watching,
12:42 take care, be safe and drive safe.
