00:00 What is the statement on our situation in the West Philippine Sea?

00:04 Well, this is the same boat that was used as a water cannon.

00:09 So we can see that our capability is increasing to defend the sovereign maritime territory of the Philippines.

00:21 So we are continuing with the upgrading of the equipment and the training and the capabilities of all our people, especially the Coast Guard.

00:31 Not only because they are on the front line in the problems now that we are facing in the West Philippine Sea,

00:39 but also because of the very important function that they play when it comes to search and rescue,

00:46 when it comes to maritime incidents, when it comes to even disaster assistance.

00:54 They are doing a lot.

00:57 So we are continuing to the new vessel that we are seeing there, the 40-foot vessel that's made in Cebu.

01:06 That's one of the things that we will add.

01:10 We will eventually have 40 of them and that will give us an increased capability.

01:14 This is ongoing.

01:16 The Philippines is lucky as we have many friends around the world.

01:21 And many of our friends from all over the country and even from far away are helping us to improve and strengthen our Coast Guard.
