Notre Dame Schedule Softens Up Down The Stretch

00:06 it's a completely different storyline.

00:08 Notre Dame right now only has one opponent on its schedule so

00:12 far down the stretch that has a winning record.

00:15 Another team is at 500, that would be Wake Forest.

00:18 And their final four opponents so far this season have an 11 and 13 record.

00:22 So it's one of those things where you look at Notre Dame and say, hey,

00:25 they've beaten the teams that they are supposed to beat.

00:27 The teams that are like what Notre Dame is playing moving forward,

00:32 Notre Dame is blown out.

00:33 So if you look at the record of Pitt, Clemson, Wake Forest, Stanford,

00:38 far more similar to Central Michigan, NC State, and

00:40 Navy than they are to Ohio State, Duke, Louisville, and USC.

00:45 And when Notre Dame has played those type of teams, they've had blowout wins.

00:49 Obviously, it's been a lot more of a struggle against the better teams on

00:51 the schedule at times, although Notre Dame did have a huge win this weekend over USC.

00:55 So you see kind of context of what Notre Dame has coming up down the stretch.

01:00 Now that doesn't mean these teams are gonna be cakewalks.

01:02 We have seen not very good Pitt teams give very good Notre Dame teams very hard games.

01:06 And that's something that we're gonna have to see if Notre Dame is prepared to come

01:13 out and be mentally ready, locked in, focused, and ready for that football game.

01:17 And then of course, Clemson will be a struggle.

01:19 The Wake Forest game is gonna be a really interesting storyline.

01:22 It'll be senior day for Notre Dame.

01:24 Sam Hartman plays his former team, then of course, Stanford at the end of the year.

01:27 And Stanford's obviously coming off that big win this past weekend over Colorado,

01:35 which they were down 29 to nothing.

01:37 Still just a wild, wild game.

01:41 You look at what Pitt has the rest of the year.

01:44 Pitt this weekend plays at Wake Forest, so

01:46 you're gonna see two opponents go one and one.

01:49 Somebody's gotta win.

01:50 Somebody's gonna catch a loss.

01:51 If Wake Forest wins, obviously, you'll have a second team above 500 on the schedule.

01:56 Wake Forest, Pitt also has, they play, obviously,

02:00 they have Notre Dame the next week, then they're Florida State at home.

02:03 Syracuse on a neutral field, it appears, Boston College at home, and at Duke.

02:08 So the schedule doesn't lighten up very much for Pitt here in the second half of

02:11 the year.

02:12 Notre Dame's gonna have to really be ready for

02:14 a team that's fighting for survival at that point.
