Notre Dame Offensive Line Fuels The Rest Of The Offense

00:00 Navy did that, USC did that.
00:05 USC didn't do that against the Nerdy this past week.
00:08 And there's a lot of reasons why.
00:10 Number one is I think they were, they still had, you've got to be careful that
00:13 Sam Hartman's not going to beat you.
00:15 And the other part is breaking down their name's film,
00:18 there's not the same intimidation of the Nerdy offensive line that they had
00:20 the year before.
00:22 And I think that factored into it as well.
00:23 You need to change that.
00:25 You need to change that these last four games.
00:27 So consistency of effort, consistency of execution, and consistent finishing
00:32 are going to be the keys that I'm going to be looking for when I'm evaluating
00:35 this Notre Dame offense in the final four games of the season.
00:38 Because if that unit can play that way, then it feeds off of everybody else.
00:42 You want to get the running backs going again,
00:44 have the offensive line play better.
00:46 You have Sam Hartman doing a better job of staying in the pocket,
00:49 getting the ball down the field, like he did to Chris Tyree,
00:51 going through his read, get where he needs to go.
00:53 Have the line play like that.
00:55 And if they can do that, then it fuels everything else.
00:58 And that to me is what it means to be an O-line driven team.
01:00 You dominate the point of attack, and you play at a high level from an effort
01:04 standpoint, from a physicality standpoint, from an execution standpoint,
01:07 and then allow your skill players to handle business.
01:10 If they can do that, this offense is going to finish very, very strong
01:13 in the last four games, even if they don't make some of the other changes
01:16 that I'm going to talk about.
01:17 That's how important that part of the game is.
