00:00 Mr. J's Jester Gal gets a sixth scale release. Here's a look at the brand new
00:05 Mondo Batman the animated series Harley Quinn one sixth scale collectible figure
00:10 timed edition.
00:13 I'm going to be opening up the box.
00:42 The clown Prince of Crime is officially released from Arkham Asylum with the
00:57 same certificate to prove it. The latest in our line of Batman the animated
01:01 series one sixth scale figures is none other than Harley Quinn. Once written as
01:06 a single episode Batman animated series henchman Harley quickly became one of
01:10 our favorite characters of all time. Available for one week only the timed
01:14 edition includes exclusive extras including additional portraits plus her
01:18 babies Bud and Lou. Yeah I don't know if I was assigned Harleen Quinzel as my
01:23 psychiatrist. Not that I necessarily need a psychiatrist. I'd probably be asking
01:27 still for a second opinion. Of course before we get a closer look at the brand
01:30 new Batman animated series Harley Quinn let me send a big thank you to the folks
01:33 over at Mondo that were kind enough to provide the sample we could have a look
01:36 at. This went on sale for $200 over on Mondo's site starting on May 9th and
01:41 running all the way to the 16th. I don't even think it lasted till the 16th. It
01:44 had sold out real fast. So if you guys are interested to get the timed edition
01:48 I'll show you guys the differences of the timed edition versus the standard. You might
01:51 have to start shopping in the aftermarket to try pick up one for
01:54 yourself. Harley Quinn though stands about 10 and a quarter inches in height
01:57 or the figure is going to be about 26 centimeters tall. And going ahead with a
02:02 couple of size comparisons. First here's what she looks like with the Dark Knight
02:05 himself. Of course Harley Quinn like in the cartoon is gonna be a little bit
02:08 shorter than Batman. I think they're accurately scaled with one another.
02:11 Here's also as well what the figure looks like clearly with the clown Prince
02:14 of Crime. And again once again like the Batman Joker is gonna be taller than
02:18 Batman but at least Harley Quinn is a little bit shorter. She only goes to
02:21 about the shoulder section or so of the Joker. Getting going first Harley Quinn
02:25 comes in clue with an oval shaped Batman logo stand. It's the same stand in fact
02:29 that we've gotten with the other Batman animated series six scale figure releases
02:32 from Mondo. So nothing is necessarily new here with Harley. It consists of two
02:36 parts when you get them first out of the box. You got yourself the main
02:39 adjustable waist clip. It isn't so much a waist clip it's actually the part that
02:42 she stands on top of. And then that slots then into the provided opening area here
02:46 that's just below the bat ears of the logo. Plug the two together then you can
02:50 get yourself Harley Quinn and basically comfortably sit her on top of the stand.
02:53 Really nice way to display the figure. Now of course the other Batman figures
02:57 have all again come included with these stands. So again nothing is really
03:00 necessarily new here with Harley Quinn but it keeps things at least rather
03:03 consistent when you have all the figures displayed on your shelf. Walking now
03:07 through the accessories that come included with the figure. On this side of
03:10 Harley's body you got yourself all the timed edition specific exclusive
03:13 accessories. And then on this side are all the accessories that are gonna come
03:16 included with the regular release or standard release Harley Quinn. I would
03:20 certainly say if you get the chance to try to track one down get that timed
03:22 edition stuff. Because not only do you get yourself three additional head
03:25 sculpts but you also get as well her trusty hyenas Bud and Lou. This is Bud
03:30 or Lou. I'm not really sure the difference between the two. It's not
03:32 like they necessarily have name tags. But in lieu of references of course the Bud
03:36 Abbott and Lou Costello. And clearly it'd be the case that the hyenas are
03:40 identical with one another. There is no possibility necessarily to them. They're
03:43 all staction pieces. I thought it may be in the case that they would have had
03:47 some possibility in the head but again they're just statue pieces. While one is
03:51 clearly got a big smile on his face. The traits of course you would see in a
03:55 hyena but you don't want to get too close to a hyena. And then there's also
03:57 this one which I feel is my favorite of the two. I love the look of the tongue
04:00 hanging out the side. And I like the fact that they're also not identical to one
04:04 another. Sharing yes the same bodies. Sharing yes of course the fact they have
04:07 no articulation at all. But I love the fact that the head sculpts are unique to
04:11 one another and they would really look nicely on either side of Harley's body.
04:14 Of course hyenas do have to eat. If you're not feeding them they'll find
04:18 food themselves. So you get yourself a little dog dish. It isn't actually quite so
04:22 little. It's cast here in a really nice blue plastic. You guys see yourself a
04:25 little bit of reflection there on the one side. And if you spin it around to
04:28 the back you've also got a little bit of shadowing happening on the dog dish. Now
04:32 obviously you have to put something in there in order for them to feed. So you
04:35 get yourself with a timed edition a steak. The steak looks like it's already
04:38 been taken a bite out of. Hopefully not from Harley herself. I imagine that would
04:43 be leading to some poisoning. But you can get you can see like it's all been cast
04:46 here in a very nice light yellow plastic. And of course you got on the top of it
04:50 they printed the additional brown details that you come to find with
04:53 steaks. That can sit really nicely then inside the dish. Someone looks like
04:57 they've already been taken some nibbles. You also get yourself a quite clean bone.
05:01 They've chewed the meat completely right off. And again this has all been cast
05:04 here in a very nice white plastic. There is really enough space, real estate space,
05:09 inside to actually fit both the bone and the steak. Depending on what the hyenas
05:13 are interested in eating at the time. Then you get yourself three additional
05:17 head portraits that aren't packed again with the standard release. All the more
05:21 reasoning why you'd really want to get the timed edition if you get the chance
05:24 to find one. First of all you get yourself an unmasked portrait of Harley
05:27 Quinn. Bearing not only the way that she looks like in the cartoon but also
05:31 bearing the likeness of the late actress Arlene Sorkin. The one that not only was
05:35 voicing Harley Quinn in the original series but also lent really her likeness
05:39 when they were initially designing the look for Harley Quinn. Sort of sad in the
05:43 way that we are getting ourselves Harley Quinn now from Bondo. That Arlene Sorkin
05:48 died actually August 24th of this year 2023. So it wasn't really that long ago
05:53 that we lost Arlene Sorkin. Really a missed actress. Endured her not
05:57 only obviously voicing Harley Quinn but she was also in America's Funniest
06:00 People with Dave Coulier. I don't really think Dave Coulier is all that funny. But
06:04 I do really like the head sculpt there that they've given us for an unmasked or
06:07 unpainted face Harley Quinn. The little touch of detail by adding that little
06:11 reflection on the bottom of her lip looks really good on the head sculpt. And
06:14 of course any one of these can be swapped out with the existing head that
06:16 she has right now. Other head sculpts that come included with Harley Quinn you
06:20 get you more kind of surprised or happy looking jovial Harley Quinn. And then you
06:24 also get this one that has more of the smirk. Generally when we do get figures
06:28 in the past of Harley Quinn she tends to look more kind of like this with a
06:30 little smirk on her face. Like the additional red that they've added to the
06:33 otherwise all black lips that she has. And she's also giving you the side eye.
06:37 Both really great looking head sculpts. Head sculpts by the way are very easy to
06:41 change out. So maybe what we will do right now is I'm going to take the Harley
06:44 Quinn and just pop the head off the ball joint. This is again one of the
06:47 defaulted regular head sculpts that we're going to be getting. But we're
06:50 going to go ahead and just right now and pop the head off the ball joint. Again
06:53 really easy to do. And then we're going to go ahead and I feel put on the better
06:56 of the two head sculpts. Let's go ahead and just hold the figures body so I
06:59 don't drop the head in the process. We'll just pop that back in place. Now again
07:03 with the head sculpts you really will want to apply a little bit of pressure
07:07 to get them completely on there. If you're having a struggle at all you can
07:10 always go the route of heating the head either in hot water. I don't really like
07:13 to use the hot water method myself. I really prefer to use just a hairdryer
07:17 just to soften up the plastic just a little bit. You can pop the head
07:20 sculpt in place. One of the other reasons why I did also want to do that too is
07:24 because then it would give me then more of a chance to show you guys what the
07:27 standard release head sculpts would look like. So that's basically all the timed
07:30 edition stuff all taken care of. Now we're going to move into the territory
07:34 though of the standard release accessories. First of which the figure
07:36 comes in clear with two additional head sculpts. Now again if you are getting the
07:39 standard release you're going to be getting these two versions of Harley
07:42 Quinn. First of all I really like this head sculpt. You get yourself an angrier
07:46 version of Harley Quinn. I can't tell whether she's just disappointed and
07:49 upset with Batman or she just is laying into Mr. J. It's a really nice looking
07:54 head sculpt. It gives us also as well a chance to kind of see the additional
07:57 sculpting that they put for a tongue inside. Because really all the other
08:00 Harley Quinns don't really have the chance to show her tongue. This one is
08:03 also again like the defaulted head sculpt as well. This is I believe the one
08:06 that comes out of the packaging with this one already attached on to the neck.
08:09 I really like this head sculpt. I feel with this one and possibly this one. This
08:14 is again the timed edition. These might be my two favorite head sculpts of the
08:18 ones provided with the figure. And again the head sculpts to change are very easy.
08:21 Then the figure also as well comes in clear with a series of interchangeable
08:24 hands. The hands themselves you get yourself a couple of grabbing hands for
08:28 example. Gripping hands. This hand specifically right here. See how the thumb
08:32 and the fingers are closer together. Probably the more ideally suitable hand
08:36 for holding then the Arkham Asylum Sane Certificate. Now I had her displayed with
08:41 that at the beginning of this review. Technically I suppose would go with more
08:43 Mr. J than anything else. But you get yourself... Oh no actually does say
08:46 Patient Harley Quinn. Sanely stated as you can see there printed on the front
08:52 of it. She got herself a little certificate seal down below. This can
08:56 then clip in between her fingers. The only thing about it though is you may
08:59 have already noticed on the back of it the few times that I've attached this
09:02 onto her hand it's left behind a little bit of marking remains. I think some of
09:06 it may have been actually the red coming off the hands. But she has the means to
09:10 actually hold the Sane Certificate. A fun way of displaying with the figure. She
09:13 also as well comes included with a couple of I guess I would imagine more
09:18 hands suitable for holding the mallet. Just because again the more of a wider
09:21 grip. She does include also a mallet as well. We're gonna look at that also more
09:25 in a second. And she also comes included with a couple again more hands suitable
09:28 for holding some of the smaller things the figure comes included with. The other
09:32 thing that she also has as well is the poison perfume. Maybe not get that too
09:37 close. Well everybody avert your eyes. The poison perfume does have as you can see
09:41 the little part on the back that actually would be the part that would
09:44 squeeze. And again nicely little detailed reference to what we would have seen in
09:47 one of the episodes of the animated series. The figure as well comes with a
09:51 pair of back cuffs. The back cuffs do have the means to actually attach around
09:55 onto her wrists. It does involve though having to pop the hands off and bring
09:58 the arms closer together. We might just do that more in a moment. But nice little
10:01 back cuffs she comes included as well. These don't by the way open up. They're
10:04 just rubbery plastic and again these would just fit over top of the forearms.
10:07 The figure as well comes included with the Joker's scepter. Spin this around so
10:12 you guys can see the detail work done to this. Nice looking again reference to one
10:17 of the episodes. I think there may have been one possibly even two episodes
10:21 where she's seen carrying around the Joker's scepter. A nice little touch of
10:26 detail is the fact that they also yellowed the teeth. I'm gonna put that to
10:29 the side. The figure also as well comes included with a purse. The purse doesn't
10:32 open up. It's all molded as one piece. You can see there's some additional gray
10:35 representing a shadow underneath the flap. You have the figure certainly
10:39 displayed with that also as well if you want. A fun reference to one of the
10:43 episodes. She also comes included with a mannequin arm. She could be swinging this
10:46 around clobbering the Batman if I guess if she wanted to. There's no
10:51 opposability obviously like a mannequin. This would basically just be a
10:53 staction piece she can carry around with her. She also as well comes included with
10:57 a utility belt. The utility belt does fit though around her waist. It does kind of
11:02 involve you though bringing the legs closer together. You can take the utility
11:05 belt and slide it basically up her thigh. The thing though I don't like about
11:09 doing this is that it's gonna get really tight in quarters right around
11:12 here. The more you're pushing this up, you can definitely feel like there's
11:16 some serious resistance happening. You could I suppose technically also put her
11:20 arms up and try to fit them around her arms that way as well. But of course you'd
11:24 have to kind of fit them around her area that way. Again I don't know if I'd
11:27 necessarily display her really with the utility belt just because again like
11:31 there's a lot of friction happening here and you really would hate to wear away
11:35 the paint not only in the utility belt but more importantly in her body either.
11:38 The last of the accessories that come included with Harley Quinn before of
11:41 course we get a closer look at the figure. Let's get her stand here for a
11:44 second. She also as well comes included with a mallet. The mallet again very large
11:48 in size. It does have weights but it doesn't it seems to be the case that the
11:52 end or head of the mallet is a hollow plastic which is probably a good idea as
11:56 well because it's gonna add unnecessary stress to the joints of her elbows and
11:59 her wrists. It's nicely detailed. You can again see there's a little bit of
12:02 shadowing happening on the bottom of it and on the front of it as well. I wish in
12:07 a way she could have come included with like a pop tap gun something with a very
12:10 large cork on the end of it for example. But again like all the accessories that
12:14 if anything I probably would have said trade some of the
12:17 accessories in for example like the purse. I never could see myself really
12:20 displaying her with a purse for example. Keep the mannequin hand for example or
12:24 the arm but probably get away with a purse altogether and maybe use the
12:27 plastic instead for a cap gun or again a cork gun that she would have used. All in
12:32 all though I really like the accessories that she comes included with. I'm kind of
12:35 still keeping Bud and Lou still here in frame. It's my favorite of the accessories
12:38 that come included with the time edition and really again like all the things that
12:41 she also comes included with like the additional head sculpts for example. I
12:44 mean like really the heads are one of my favorite things about the figure is the
12:47 fact that she comes included with as many as she does. It's really kind of hard
12:50 similar to Joker we looked at before to kind of really be able to pinpoint what
12:54 exact head you would want to have displayed with the figure. So let's just
12:57 move everything out of the way here so we kind of get a closer look now at
13:00 Harley Quinn. Not really sure exactly which head I'm gonna be going and
13:04 sticking with but I guess maybe as we kind of go through things we'll kind of
13:07 change out the heads accordingly. So again we're gonna go with this head
13:09 sculpt here but again I think this one specifically is with the timed edition.
13:13 Again just a normal expression a normal defaulted Harley Quinn face but a big
13:18 smirk across her face. Again I love the little bit of red that they've added to
13:22 the bottom of her black lips. The paint work on the figure again consistently
13:26 consistently good with the stuff that we're getting here from Mondo. On the top
13:29 of her head for example she has some additional shadowing there something
13:32 again you would see in the series and again like the regular Jester outfit that
13:36 she would have had in this series it alternates the colors of the black and
13:38 the red. Down below of course you've got that same checkerboard motif with some
13:42 additional shadowing on the underside of her body as well right here. It's again a
13:46 really nice-looking Harley Quinn. Now with changing out the hands one thing I
13:50 did want to say though is that all the individual hands if you haven't
13:53 already noticed they come in alternating colors of red and black so you already
13:56 know which side they have to go on. The hands by the way are all independently
14:00 provided with pegs so when you are taking out the hands for example this is
14:04 one thing I did notice though about the figure when you are taking out the hands
14:08 you always want to make sure the pegs go with it because of course then you're
14:10 gonna have to then change the hands and they all have their own dedicated pegs
14:13 along with them. I mean it's not necessarily a deal-breaker at all with
14:17 all the cool things that Harley Quinn comes included with. I had a bigger issue
14:20 really with the black hand. Every time I wanted to try to remove it it ultimately
14:24 took the hand and left the peg by itself. Like you can see as I remove that the
14:29 peg is probably quite lodged now in there. I mean again it's just a case of
14:33 taking one of the hands you want to then swap it out with and then just remove
14:35 that hand from the peg and just put the hand in by itself. This also as well with
14:40 this particular hand I'm gonna see if I can try to fish this out a little bit
14:43 later because the the hinge on that individual peg is actually a little on
14:47 the lower looser side which again isn't so much an issue because you have enough
14:50 of these hands anyways with the extra pegs. This hinge actually is a lot
14:54 tighter so I'm gonna see if I can try to fish that out carefully without doing
14:57 any damage. Details down below again you've got the additional diamond motif
15:01 there that she has on the sides of her legs. She also has it there on the top of
15:04 her forearm and again all the things you'd expect to complete with the little
15:07 jester shoes that she has down below all again nicely represented here as a
15:11 Harley Quinn six scale figure. For the figure's articulation do we want to
15:15 still stick with this head sculpt? Okay okay let's change out the head. Changing
15:19 out again the head is easy just gonna pop that off the ball joint. Which one
15:22 do we want to go with? Maybe we'll go with the angry Harley Quinn head. Again
15:25 just pop that onto the ball joint. By the way though when you are putting this on
15:29 to the ball joint you really want to resist the urge to put pressure on the
15:31 side of her pom-poms here because again you don't want that to be bent or warped
15:35 in any way. Making sure of course I got the head all the way on there. For the
15:39 head articulation as already shown it does have a ball joint so it does allow
15:43 the head to look forward this far. You can also bring the head back this way and
15:46 you can also move it back and forth as well and of course as all of it
15:49 obviously stating it does rotate also all the way around. She only has just the
15:53 single hinge there. She doesn't have an additional ball joint for example at the
15:56 base of her neck. The figure also as well has an upper torso ball joint. She can
15:59 rotate that all the way around. Her arms are on hinge joints so you can bring
16:03 them out at 90 degrees. Any bit past the point of 90 degrees there
16:07 definitely is resistance and it clearly is telling you right there don't push
16:10 any further. The arms do rotate all the way around. She has a single hinge in the
16:14 elbow which I did notice was tight on the figure so I had to heat that up with
16:17 a little bit of hair dryer passes just to soften up the plastic just a little
16:21 bit. She has only just a single hinge on the elbow but at least it allows the arm
16:24 to rotate back and forth and the hands do rotate all the way around. As to the
16:28 figure's legs they do split out. You can take those legs again move them forward.
16:32 You can move them back. There's a swivel at the top of the thigh. The figure has a
16:35 double hinge on the knee which is good to see and she also has the standard
16:39 articulation in the ankle. So the ankle for example does hinge back and forth
16:42 but really tight really tight here on the ankle port and then of course you
16:46 can also hinge it back and forth this way as well. All in all though a
16:49 fantastic Harley Quinn. With all the stuff that really Mondo has been doing so well
16:53 when it comes to six scale releases some of my favorite things in fact are
16:56 actually the DC stuff. Just reaching off to the side here of course if you're
17:00 gonna be having Harley Quinn you're gonna want to bring back in Mr. J.
17:03 There's what she looks like with the Joker and again I think they're really
17:06 accurately sized with one another. Let's maybe finish off the family and bring in
17:10 Bud and Lou. Yeah definitely I feel a candidate. Usually when we've looked at
17:16 the Mondo pieces in the past I've always tried to show you guys the candidates,
17:20 the reasons why maybe you'd want to get the limited edition or timed edition
17:23 versions of these figures or sometimes I'm very honest as well and just say
17:26 like based on the things that you get with the timed edition if you can never
17:30 really see yourselves displaying the figure with any of those things I think
17:33 you're fine and still good to go with the regular release. Harley Quinn though I
17:36 feel is really one figure that I'm kind of leaning definitely more towards the
17:39 timed edition. Not only giving us granted the gifts of additional Bud and Lou
17:44 hyenas but the fact that the figure also comes included with three additional
17:48 head sculpts which again gives us a total of five. The head sculpts that come
17:52 included with the timed edition again whether you even decide to really
17:55 display her unmasked for example or unpainted the fact that we actually do
17:58 get ourselves a regular version portrait of Harley Quinn is again a nice little
18:01 touch. A true again kind of honor really to Arlene Sorkin the original actors who
18:06 again not only lent her likeness to Harley Quinn but also voiced her in their
18:10 early episodes of the Batman animated series. Well Batman did try his best to
18:14 get the back cuffs on Harley Quinn but then she broke free and proceeded to
18:18 start swinging at him with a mannequin arm. I applaud by the way the folks over
18:21 at Mondo for even including the mannequin arm in the first place. All the
18:25 accessories that come packaged with the figure whether you go the route of the
18:28 regular release or whether you're lucky enough to get your hands on the timed
18:31 edition. By the way the price point on the breakdown of those the timed edition
18:34 initially was being sold over on their site for $200. The regular release which
18:39 is still available as a pre-order is going for $185 so it's a difference of
18:42 about $15. $15 exactly and I can't believe it's only just $15
18:46 considering you get three additional head portraits you get some additional
18:49 accessories but more importantly you get Bud and Lou the hyenas. Definitely if you
18:53 get the chance you're able to find the timed edition I think is the better
18:56 route to go especially if you're wanting to display Harley Quinn with the hyenas.
18:59 The figure looks fantastic though I've been really quite impressed generally
19:03 with all across the board all the stuff that Mondo has been doing but the bread
19:06 and butter for me at least at the Batman animated series stuff having
19:09 looked at ones in the past year on this channel this one's gonna look really
19:12 nicely along with the Joker. The Joker one of my favorite six scale figures in
19:16 fact that Mondo has now been doing. Harley Quinn's gonna look really nice
19:19 displayed next to him. There's a lot of different choices available here when it
19:22 comes to Harley's displaying options of course I've just chosen some of them
19:26 right now to be displayed with the figure in final looks but the fact that
19:28 you total up a total of five heads there's a lot of options available when
19:32 it comes to certainly displaying the figure whether you decide to have her
19:35 with a mannequin arm in her hand or not I applaud you guys over at Mondo for
19:39 including that or not it's definitely a nice-looking figure if you get the
19:42 chance to grab one for yourself. Once again a big thank you to the folks over
19:45 at Mondo that were kind enough to provide this sample of the brand new
19:48 Batman animated series Harley Quinn that we had the chance to have a look at in
19:51 this review. If you guys enjoyed this video I want to hit with a like. If you guys
19:54 are loving the content you guys are seeing and you would like to stick
19:56 around for more Mondo reviews I will tell you though we have a few coming
20:01 your way so make sure you're keeping your peepers peeled to this channel
20:03 making sure of course you're hitting that subscribe button down below making
20:06 sure you're turning on the bell notification and also as well if you'd
