00:00 And you'll see on the film, James Flanagan is a bit of a throwback player.
00:08 And so getting numbers is fine.
00:11 Obviously, it's important to get to your numbers.
00:13 But it's even more important when you talk about impacting a class,
00:17 are you impacting a class with the proper skill sets?
00:22 And you can't just get a bunch of cookie cutter players when you look at how
00:25 Notre Dame uses their tight end position, for example.
00:28 They need guys can be attached and play at the line of scrimmage and
00:31 be blockers and move the chains and work the middle of the field and
00:34 things along those lines.
00:35 There's a role for tight ends to play out of the box a lot,
00:38 the move around type of guys.
00:39 And then of course, the ideal players, the guys can do a little bit all of it.
00:43 I think James Flanagan has the upside to be that player.
00:46 But right now, you know for sure that he shows up at Notre Dame with the ability
00:51 to play in more of a traditional tight end role, which gives Notre Dame some
00:56 really interesting compliments when you look at sort of their four year recruiting.
01:00 In 2022, they landed Holden Stace, who's a bit of a move around tight end and
01:05 Eli Raritan, who can play attached but also bring some unique outside
01:11 tight end skills, so both of them are more modernish.
01:14 Then you go to the 2023 class, which is the current freshmen, and
01:18 they have Cooper Flanagan in the class.
01:19 And we have already seen Cooper Flanagan,
01:21 spells his name a little bit different, instead of an I,
01:24 Cooper Flanagan spells it with an A.
01:26 And we had talked before the year that Cooper Flanagan is a kid that absolutely
01:29 brings he can show up and block right now mentality, and we've already seen that.
01:33 He's already on the field for Notre Dame this year as a blocker, and
01:36 he's been an impactful player as a blocker already.
01:38 That's what Cooper brought to the table, 6'6", 6'5", 6'6", 260,
01:43 big player, short to intermediate type of guy.
01:46 James Flanagan has some of that as well, which I'll get to.
01:49 Then 2024, you bring in Jack Larson, who can block, but
01:53 he's more of a slot wing, tremendous ball skills, not nearly as big.
01:59 He's 6'3", 225, 230 type of guy, closer to Tommy Tremble as far as a usage
02:04 standpoint than what you're gonna ask of a Michael Mayer,
02:08 of a Cooper Flanagan, and a James Flanagan.
