00:00 Storm Debbie is hitting some parts of the UK with very strong winds and some heavy rain as well.
00:06 An amber warning in place across parts of northwest England.
00:09 But other warnings are also in place for wind and rain.
00:12 There's a swirl of cloud out in the Atlantic, but the storm system is actually here.
00:16 This massive cloud came in across parts of the Republic of Ireland
00:21 during the course of Sunday and Monday nights.
00:23 The storm itself now heading its way across Scotland,
00:26 but the strongest winds on its southern flank,
00:28 just where the ice bars are really nipping together.
00:30 So in here into the Irish Sea coast, that's where the strongest gusts are 60, 70,
00:36 perhaps on coast 80 miles an hour gusts for a time.
00:40 A very windy right across northern England and parts of Wales.
00:43 Very blustery this afternoon.
00:44 Rain coming into Northern Ireland and eastern parts of Scotland,
00:48 also potentially causing disruption as that storm system continues to drift away.
00:53 And by the end of the afternoon, Debbie will actually be out into the North Sea.
00:57 Further south, well, it's a blustery day with a mixture of sunshine
01:00 and a few showers coming into Wales and southern counties of England
01:03 with a bit of sunshine temperatures getting into the mid teens.
01:06 But where the rain and the very strong winds are, it's going to feel pretty cool.
01:10 I suspect some places not getting out of single figures.
01:14 The rain in northeast Scotland will continue into this evening,
01:17 but should start to fade overnight.
01:19 The winds will also continue to ease over northern England and Wales,
01:23 but still a pretty breezy night in the south and west.
01:26 There'll be more showers in most locations as well with some clearer skies
01:29 and where the winds ease in Scotland, temperatures could turn a little chilly,
01:33 maybe well down into single figures here,
01:35 but further south, many places holding up at nine to 11 Celsius.
01:39 You'll notice more rain coming into the southwest as well.
01:42 Now, this needs watching.
01:43 This likely be pretty heavy as it crosses south Wales and southwest England around dawn
01:48 and then spreads across southern counties of England.
01:51 Shouldn't last too long, but it's pretty heavy.
01:52 You can tell by the orange and the red colours there,
01:55 an intense band of rain zipping through, bringing some gusty winds as it does so.
01:59 And that could make for some pretty grim conditions through the morning rush hour,
02:02 particularly around the M25, but also parts of the M2 and the M3.
02:07 So a wet and windy start in the southeast does all scoot away pretty quickly.
02:12 And then we're left with plenty more showers to come in during the day,
02:15 particularly for Northern Ireland and Western Scotland.
02:18 Frequent showers here. The showers elsewhere, a bit more scattered.
02:21 So a better chance of seeing some lengthy dry and bright spells.
02:24 Quite breezy in the west as well, but the wind is actually easing again further across central and eastern parts.
02:30 Temperature wise, well, again, many places struggling to get above nine or 10 Celsius in the north,
02:35 maybe 12 to 14 when the sun comes out further south.
02:39 As we go through Tuesday evening, not a great deal of change.
02:41 I think we'll continue to feed more showers in on this northwesterly wind to Northern Ireland,
02:46 parts of Western Scotland and northwest England likely to continue into Wednesday as well.
02:51 More wet and windy weather potentially throughout this week.
