00:00 More than 1,000 people, including PAS supporters and the Muslim NGO,

00:05 joined the Syariah Salvation Coalition at Istana Kehakiman this morning.

00:09 The coalition is to defend the Sharia law on certain parties.

00:14 The petition was organized by the governor Ilin Zurina Abdul Rashid

00:17 and his son, Tengku Yasmin Natasha Tengku Abdul Rahman,

00:20 challenging 20 provisions in the 2019 Kelantan Sharia Crime Law Amendment.

00:27 Several National Union leaders also joined the coalition,

00:31 including President PAS' team, Mr. Ibrahim Thonman,

00:35 PAS' vice president Idris Ahmad,

00:37 PAS' deputy secretary, Takiuddin Hassan,

00:39 PAS' deputy secretary, Hamzah Zainuddin,

00:42 MP Wan Ahmad Faizal Wan Ahmad Kamal,

00:45 and MP Putrajaya Razik Jidid.

00:48 The panel of nine judges of the Parliament convened this afternoon

00:52 to hear the petition of Ilin and her son, Tengku Yasmin, against the Kelantan government.

00:58 The two judges challenged 20 provisions in the 2019 Kelantan Sharia Crime Law Amendment

01:03 with the Constitution that also covers the same violations.

01:08 The provisions, among others, are to destroy places of worship,

01:12 prostitution and various other sexual offenses,

01:15 including homosexuality, giving false statements and entering documents.
