00:06 Breslin's vacant mothercare site is to be renovated and reopened with a new retailer.

00:11 Plans have been submitted to Breslin Council to make external alterations to Units 1 and 2, Mariner's Way,

00:17 which is the existing DFS showroom and the vacant former mothercare site.

00:21 The main changes include modernisations to the dated shopfront and the installation of a mezzanine floor in both units.

00:29 A Wigan Borough takeaway has drastically improved its food hygiene score.

00:33 Ash of Indian on Holden Road in Ley was awarded a zero at its inspection in September.

00:39 However, following a re-inspection, it has now been awarded three stars,

00:43 which means the establishment is now considered to be generally satisfactory.

00:47 In other news, controversial plans to build up to 200 new homes on fields near the Bay Gateway in Torrezo

00:55 have been submitted to Lancaster City Council.

00:58 An outline application for up to 200 homes and road realignment/widening to part of Sline Road,

01:04 on land close to Powderhouse Lane and Russell Drive,

01:07 has been sent to the Council by local developer Warren Cadman of Renman Strategic Land.

01:12 The application is awaiting a decision by the local authority.

01:16 In residents on the border of Burnley and Nelson Fear, a planned wedding venue could create chaos on local roads

01:23 and lead to a loss of valuable green space.

01:27 Around 200 objections have already been made to the planning application for a large outdoor wedding venue

01:32 with a glass marquee next to Nelson Golf Club.

01:36 Residents in Halifax Road and Kings Clauseway, as well as people living in Brightcliffe,

01:41 are fiercely opposed to the plan and are coordinating their objections.

01:45 And finally, a hotelier who lives behind the former St. Chad's Hotel,

01:50 has branded the new owners of the fragrance group inconsiderate after a summer of disruption

01:55 and fears that the parking will become virtually impossible for local residents.

01:59 Sutton Park Hotel spent the busiest part of their season watching the building next door being demolished,

02:08 And now, the family-run business on Woodfield Road are bracing themselves for another year of disruption,

02:13 as well as huge fears for the future if plans for a new £30 million hotel are approved.
