00:00Hello, my name is Sian Jones and these are the latest headlines from our newsrooms across the
00:04North West. A scratchcard winner says she's gone from cloud nine to feeling utterly deflated after
00:09being ghosted by the National Lottery. Jennifer Gothard was over the moon after winning £10,000
00:15on her £3 triple cash word scratchcard in March. Jumping with joy over her good looks,
00:20she immediately got in touch with the National Lottery to submit her claim,
00:24but five weeks later Jennifer is still waiting to hear back about her prize money.
00:28A school for disengaged pupils with special educational needs and disabilities has been
00:34graded as requires improvement by inspectors. The Ofsted team which visited Progress Schools
00:40in Wigan in February acknowledged that new subject curriculums have only recently been
00:44introduced and that as a result pupils do not yet achieve as highly as they should.
00:50Progress Schools is one of 13 independent secondary schools in England which support
00:55local authorities and mainstream schools to work with young people who require an alternative
01:00approach to their education. In other news, a body has been pulled from the sea off the
01:05coast of Blackpool. Emergency services say the discovery was made just off South Pier at around
01:117.30pm on Wednesday evening. The man in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene.
01:19Filming for a new Amazon Prime crime thriller Lazarus has been taking place in Morecambe.
01:24Fences were erected near the Midland Hotel in Morecambe where filming took place and the
01:29base was set up on Winter Gardens car park with pink signs saying Lazubase Cars. Prime
01:35Video have confirmed that Lazarus was shooting there for just one day. The new limited series
01:40stars Bill Nighy, Sam Caffley and Alexandra Roach and has been written by best-selling author
01:45Harlan Coburn. And finally, strikes by Unite members at Nelson's ELE Advanced Technologies
01:53have been suspended after the employer put forward a new offer it was announced on Wednesday.
01:58Strike action by AT engineers began on Wednesday at the factory in Nelson.
02:02As the company had initially offered a real-terms pay cut to workers, members will now be balloted
02:09on Thursday May 2nd and Friday May 3rd. As a result, the strikes have been suspended.
