00:00Hello, my name is Sharon Jones and these are the latest headlines from our newsrooms across
00:04the North West.
00:06The body of a 25-year-old man was sadly discovered at a home off Preston's Winkley Square.
00:12Ambulance crews were called to the home in Birstow Street, next to the city's historic
00:15square and close to Avonlea Park on Tuesday morning.
00:19The man was pronounced dead at the scene and paramedics reported his death to the police.
00:25A cocktail bar in Wigan is being turned into a new micro-pub.
00:29Lady Mabel on Wigan Lane will be rebranded into The Swill House which is opening in November.
00:35The micro-pub will offer a full and diverse range of real ales, draughts and spirits but
00:39on a smaller and more intimate scale and it will also undergo an £80,000 refurbishment.
00:47In other news, a mystery man known only as Mr B from Lancashire has scooped an incredible
00:52£1 million cash prize in the EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker.
00:57The lucky winner bagged the enormous prize after the draw was made on Friday July 5th.
01:02The Lancashire local has become one of over 8 million players who win each week on the
01:06National Lottery's range of games.
01:09McDonald's has banned groups of under-18s from its Morecambe restaurant after a spate
01:13of anti-social behaviour.
01:16The branch in Morecambe Road says no more than two youths will be allowed inside after
01:205pm unless they are accompanied by a suitable adult.
01:24A notice on the entrance says the new rule was put in place due to recent circumstances
01:29alluding to the problems with unruly teenagers in recent weeks.
01:34And finally, Ribble Valley Borough Council has started proceedings in the High Court
01:38against the owners of the Punchbowl Inn in Hurst Green.
01:42The council is seeking an injunction requiring Donlan Trading Ltd, Andrew Richard Donlan
01:48and Nicola Donlan to comply with listed building enforcement notice.
01:53If granted, the injunction will require the defendants to rebuild the historic inn which
01:58was unlawfully demolished in 2021.
