00:00Hello my name is Sharon Jones and these are the latest headlines from our newsrooms across the
00:04North West. It's been three years in the making but a new co-op is finally set to open its doors
00:09between Bromber Bridge and Waltonley Dale. The new 2,500 square foot convenience store on the site
00:15of the former Grosvenor Garage in Chorley Road has created 16 local jobs and serves up a Costa
00:20Coffee Express and in-store bakery alongside a focus on fresh chilled and healthy produce,
00:26meal ideas and everyday essentials. The online home delivery of groceries is also set to be
00:32introduced shortly after launch via Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eat where groceries are picked
00:38fresh in the local store and delivered quickly and conveniently in the community.
00:44A singer used well-known local landmarks for a video to accompany his feel-good song celebrating
00:49Wigan Casino and Northern Soul. Logan Fulster, better known as the North West Singer, is a
00:55performer in Wigan's Pubs and Clubs and previously made his mark with its original song about latex
01:00called I Still Believe. Last year he was personally invited by Wigan Athletic boss
01:05Sean Maloney to perform the song at the Brick Community Stadium for the first home game of the
01:09season. In other news, the owner of a Blackpool's most luxurious hotel says her long-running success
01:17is down to always giving her customers a little bit extra. Claire Smith is the owner of number
01:23one hotel in South Shore and the number one St Luke's B&B in North Shore. She's been running
01:29hotels in Blackpool for her whole career starting at the old coach house. Mrs Smith said my job is
01:35to look at what people have got at home and think what I can put in that is that little bit extra
01:40and a little bit more special. A Haitian mum who's disabled has slammed the attitude of a bus driver
01:47who left her in tears. Rebecca Reeder was on the first trip out to Lancaster in her new electric
01:53wheelchair and was in the queue for the 1A bus back home when the incident happened last week.
01:58Rebecca claims that the driver saw that she would need a ramp to get on the bus.
02:03The driver complained that the bus was already running late.
02:07And finally, Smacks was his life, he loved the place. That was how Paul Bentley, the manager
02:12of one of Bentley's longest running bars, Smackwater Jacks, was described this week by
02:17his partner of 20 years, Helen Lothied. Paul died after a short battle of cancer, age 45,
02:24just 12 months after he was diagnosed. As a mark of how well liked and respected Paul was,
02:29hundreds turned out to say goodbye at his funeral and it was standing room only at
02:34Bentley crematorium. The weather now, a fine day with sunny spells and highs of 19 degrees.
