00:00 Alright, do you want to play?
00:02 Yeah, I would love to.
00:04 Okay, well then maybe you will need this.
00:08 You know what this is?
00:12 Your Supergirl.
00:14 Hi, how's it going? I'm Josh from Narcity. How are you?
00:25 Hey Josh, how are you?
00:26 Good. Andy, I want to start with you.
00:29 I want to start with you and I want to start with Supergirl and Sasha Calley.
00:31 Obviously you posted that incredible video of the moment you gave her the role.
00:35 I'm curious, you get to put your stamp on this character whereas everyone else is inherited in a way.
00:40 What was it about Sasha that made you say, "This is my Supergirl and she's not going to be blonde, she's not going to be blue-eyed, she's going to be Latina."
00:49 Well, I saw her audition and there was something about her that immediately spoke to me. Mainly her strength but also her vulnerability.
00:59 She's a phenomenal actor and there's something about her that I couldn't quite explain.
01:04 That's part of the exploration in the film, you know, the film media.
01:11 The excitement about working with an actor that you know or at least it's an intuition thing.
01:19 Something magical can happen here.
01:22 So I can tell you the rational things, why I picked her, but also there's something that's unexplainable and it has to do with that intuition.
01:30 I'm very happy at the end. She gave me that and more.
01:35 You can see the magic on screen for sure.
01:38 Barbara, I want to ask you, you know, DC fans love to hear about the things they missed and I heard there was a four-hour cut of this movie.
01:44 Can you tell me the coolest thing that didn't make the cut but you really wanted to include?
01:49 Oh man, that's an amazing question. I think there was a longer Barry's apartment scene that was just hilarious.
02:05 And hopefully it will see the light of day. I mean, it's still very funny, but we had to condense it.
02:10 Those guys are just hilarious.
02:12 Andy, I want to ask you, you know, you inherited two Batman here too.
02:24 You've got Tim Burton's Batman, you've got Zack Snyder's Batman.
02:28 And I'm curious, you know, if you were to take your own Batman in a brave and bold direction, what would you want to put on, what kind of spin would you want to put on that character?
02:35 Oh, that's, I don't think I can talk to that.
02:39 Okay, that's fair.
02:41 Thank you for asking.
02:43 Okay, Barbara, I want to ask you, you know, the movie is all about little moments, you know, misses, hits here where it can change the whole course of things.
02:52 This movie took a long time to get to the finish line and you guys got it across. There were writers before, there were directors before.
02:58 What was the moment for you that you think everything maybe turned on and we ended up with the best timeline right here?
03:05 We got together with Christina Hudson, a writer, and I think, you know, she nailed the script. That was a first step.
03:20 Second, we are, you know, dogs with a bone. We don't let it go. We're stubborn as hell.
03:26 And the pandemic started and we managed to keep our crew together.
03:32 We kept on prepping through, you know, rain, shine and, you know, and viruses.
03:39 And we managed to get to the UK six months later, but we did. And here we are.
03:47 So it's, you know, talent and stubbornness.
03:50 stubbornness.
