00:11 a huge brute and true conqueror Kordax dons ceremonial armor and wields a
00:37 powerful magical dark energy that could ultimately prove deadly to both sea and
00:42 surface dwellers well at least now we know where Black Mantis Trident went to
00:46 it came in clue with King Kordax the figure actually in fact character-wise
00:50 was the first to wield the black trident before being imprisoned in ice before of
00:55 course we look at the accessories including that black trident the tape
00:58 measure at least tells us that King Kordax stands about eight and a quarter
01:01 inches in height or the figures going to be about twenty one and a half
01:04 centimeters tall I do find this wave to be a little lean though with only four
01:09 figures the figures that we've already had a look at of course is Aquaman in
01:12 his original suit then we also did also have a look at Aquaman with a much
01:16 better head sculpt I feel at least with the stealth suit variation and then my
01:19 favorite figure easily hands down from this wave was also black Manta surprised
01:23 though that omitted was Orm I thought Orm would have played a more significant
01:26 role of he seems to be at least from what I've seen plays a big role in
01:29 Aquaman in the Lost Kingdom but big maybe because he's not gonna be playing
01:32 as much of a bad guy they decided not to release him as an ocean master and I'll
01:36 see also obviously we never got ourselves a mirror but I don't know how
01:39 much mirror is actually gonna play a role in the movie again not having seen
01:41 it and of course all the all the gray stuff all the stuff that happened behind
01:45 the scenes could probably then justify why Todd and his team decided to omit
01:49 mirror completely from this wave now for those that were seeking the black
01:54 trident and was disappointed like myself that black men didn't come included with
01:57 it you'll be happy to know at least that King Kordax is the one like the original
02:00 bearer of the black trident is the one that wields the weapon before of course
02:04 we look at that the figure also comes in clue with a black display stand nothing
02:07 really different here you of course got the same DC logo printed down below and
02:10 again one peg that can plug into either one of his feet the figure also comes
02:13 included with a trading card the trading card once again seems to be using that
02:17 app that makes everybody posterized or like cartoon characters bringing the
02:21 other ones we've already had a look at there was the stealth suit Iron Man
02:23 stealth suit Iron Man stealth suit Aquaman the original Aquaman and of
02:27 course we also had ourselves black man to just drop the display stand all of
02:30 these will look nice and inside my book I think really honestly my favorite ones
02:33 are still the black Manta and actually King Kordax doesn't look too bad I just
02:37 I don't know I don't know if I like the idea of just taking live-action
02:40 characters and sort of cartooning eyes um I know that's not even really a word
02:44 on the back though of King Kordax he has really the shortest read up I mean it
02:49 really is only three lines it's very quick and easy to read in fact it was
02:52 very quick and easy to read I read at the beginning of this video add that
02:55 with the rest of my trading cards picking up the stand that was dropped
02:59 on the floor it's right over here yes the figure does come included in fact
03:02 with the black Trident show you guys I'm just gonna grab the one off to the side
03:06 here that came in clue with Aquaman looking at them I mean the black train
03:09 is just a little bit shorter it doesn't have maybe as much as the decorative
03:13 details and it looks to be like I still got a little bit of tape there on the
03:15 top let's just remove that right now but it's about the same size of handle the
03:20 pitchfork end of it is a little bit more jagged here on the black Trident
03:23 though I will be no even really like King Kordax is the one the original
03:27 bearer of the black Trident I might for right now at least have the figure
03:30 displayed I think with black Manta so again you can just take yourself your
03:33 figure open up the hands the plastic the plastic on all these hands I haven't
03:37 really even done this I should really heat the hands for black Adam because
03:41 really it black Adam black Manta does the plastic on all of these hands really
03:44 except for the stealth suits Aquaman it's about the only one that actually
03:48 had really pliable hands all the other plastics on these hands are really hard
03:51 and rigid I've actually hurt my own fingers just trying to move the fingers
03:54 on the figure but anyways you can get yourself the black Trident it's just a
03:57 matter of me heating up the hands for black I'll keep on a calm black Adam
04:00 another movie that was a different movie there's different movie this blessed
04:04 black Trident though can be well wielded wielded I'm just tongue twisting myself
04:08 to death here can be actually wielded by King Kordax it's just a case of putting
04:12 it inside his hand like that oh like just a plastic I'm just doing I'm
04:16 wrecking my own fingers just trying to get these weapons in their hands but you
04:20 actually can get King Kordax to wield the black Trident the other hand
04:24 literally on the other hand is kind of more of a powerful power hungry hand
04:27 he's in prison in ice after all I don't know necessarily I feel like the figure
04:32 necessarily need to have extra accessories I mean I think it's fine and
04:35 good even though I'm really gonna be only pillaging this anyways to be
04:37 displayed with black Manta he doesn't I don't think really needed any other
04:41 accessories this is gonna be one of those cases where generally villain
04:44 figures don't tend to do well long after the movie has been surfaced put on the
04:48 shelf so to speak I mean all the other hero figures usually are ones that are
04:52 recognizable right away so even if they're months on the shelf afterwards
04:54 kids and collectors will still likely pick them up always it usually is the
04:58 case that villains for one reason or another I just I think it's just because
05:01 again like they're tied so much quickly to the movie because they don't have
05:04 necessarily a recognizable look outside of the films I think once again the
05:08 films start to cool off figures like this start to continue to warm up and
05:12 that's warming up on the pegs so we're gonna go ahead right now just remove the
05:15 black triangle gun put that to the side getting though a closer look now at King
05:18 Kordax I actually really like the look of this guy he looks like someone that
05:22 would be stowed away on the ship with Davy Jones he also kind of looks a
05:25 little bit like Groot's so I'm mixing between the two you kind of got these
05:29 interesting looking details that they've got sort of the front of his face looks
05:32 like that of maybe like a tree like an old rotting tree it's supposed to be I'm
05:36 sure like sea life or kind of like a rock face for example you got these
05:40 really interesting cracks all across the surface of the front of his face what
05:43 eyes I'm sure these are supposed to be he has kind of one more large one on the
05:47 one side and a slightly more slitted eye on the other he does have some really
05:50 gnarly looking teeth in a way I do kind of wish that this guy could been a
05:53 little bit bigger and at the very least they could have incorporated some jaw
05:57 articulation because I really would love to see what would look like underneath
06:00 the grill like the teeth look just so gross all of this by the way is a fairly
06:04 soft plastic so I don't know if you can actually gauge this by just the way I'm
06:08 squishing his face like this but this is all kind of more of a softer plastic
06:12 when we get down to his body there's kind of soft and hard elements that
06:15 we're gonna kind of tackle together one thing I also really like about the
06:18 figures back is if you look at the back of the head he's kind of got all these
06:21 little straggling strands of plastic I don't know if it's just supposed to be
06:25 like again like sea tentacles or things that are just naturally growing on his
06:29 body it's a really it's an interesting figure because it's one of those figures
06:32 you could spend a lot of time just looking at and taking in all the details
06:36 that they've actually put not only through the original design of him in
06:38 them in the movie but also the way he translated the plastic as well speaking
06:42 of things are textured he also has some really interesting texture there on his
06:45 shoulder pads now these are softer plastic similar to his head when it
06:49 comes to moving his shoulders which will not necessarily talk right away about
06:52 but it's gonna limit a lot of the opposability because again like you're
06:55 just gonna get these shoulders getting in the way of things and again like he's
06:58 got a lot of bulk right around the collar area here as well he has a lot of
07:01 layers which I really like about him because of course he has like this
07:04 collar piece that is looks to be glued on top of the figure I mean if you look
07:08 at it from the back it's sort of a back collar piece that kind of holds the cape
07:11 in place but this looks like it's all adhered so you wouldn't be able to
07:14 really remove that but it's sort of layered on top of a torso piece and then
07:18 on top of that it's layered on top of the abdomen this is a hard plastic this
07:22 is a slightly softer plastic and of course the skirting itself that he has
07:25 on the front of his body on the sides as well is a softer soft goods material as
07:29 well detailing is really nice on this guy I mean kind of looks also a little
07:33 like Swamp Thing this could easily be a bad guy that could be fighting Swamp
07:36 Thing although the size of Swamp Thing especially the one that we got from the
07:39 DC multiverse line I don't know how much Kordex is gonna stand a chance against
07:43 him I really like the material also that they use that again a soft goods cape on
07:47 the back it's got some nice little tears and rips and stuff in it and just really
07:51 nice age and wear to it flip it actually up so you can see what's going on
07:55 underneath the hood again you got some skirting there on the back that's also
07:58 sculpted in the same similar brown plastic as obviously is on the front as
08:02 well really interesting figure but I feel like it's one of those cases that
08:05 once again like the figure once the movie really does cool off in theaters
08:09 it goes to the physical media and streaming services where people are
08:12 gonna be watching the movie I think then long after that you're probably gonna be
08:16 seeing of all the figures maybe the King Kordex and possibly even stealth suit
08:19 Aquaman being the I feel like the peg warmers I don't think Black Manta is I
08:23 dare say that Black Manta is ever gonna be a peg warmer if anybody is passing on
08:27 getting that Black Manta think again now for the figures articulation I did
08:31 already mentioned that the figures can be a little bit more limited so the
08:34 heads gonna be on a ball joint as it normally should be the case but I've
08:37 noticed though with the head for Kordex every single time I move it there seems
08:41 to be some real serious resistance I can move it back and forth but while I'm
08:45 doing it I can feel like it's wanting to push against it the head does look up
08:49 and it does look down only that far and you can rock it back and forth as well
08:52 now the arms easily can rotate that's not a problem at all but combined with
08:57 the softer plastic that they've used for the shoulder pads combined as well with
09:00 the softer plastic that they've used for the collar piece it does make things a
09:03 little bit more difficult when it comes to bringing his arms out getting only
09:06 about 45 degrees is about as far as you're probably gonna be able to get you
09:10 can push it a little further than that but there's always of course the risk
09:12 that these are gonna get popped off in the process the figure does have a
09:15 swivel in his bicep figure also possesses a double hinge on the elbow
09:19 and the hands do rotate all the way around I did notice though with these
09:23 fingers especially trying to open them up so he could actually wield the black
09:26 Trident that these between the harder plastic that they've used and then the
09:30 pointer ends of the of the actual fingers I've poked myself I don't know
09:34 how many times now and I my fingers feel raw the upper torso is gonna be on a
09:38 ball joint the lower torso you can actually see behind the skirting does
09:42 actually also have a ball joint the legs do split out they're gonna be a little
09:46 bit more limited again because he's gonna have the skirts on the sides here
09:49 you can come out about that far when it comes to figures leg splits the bigger
09:53 leg goes forward and it also goes back a swivel at the top of the thigh double
09:57 hinge on the knee which is really good to see and the figure has again
10:00 articulation in these ankles both this way you can also rock them back and
10:03 forth although they're really tight rocking them this way and the figure
10:07 again has toe articulation as well good-looking figure ultimately though
10:10 even though he was the original wielder of the black Trident once I can get the
10:14 plastic to be soft enough on the hands I'm ultimately gonna begin the black
10:17 Trident at least a black man - at least for right now at least right for right
10:20 now until of course the movie cools off once the movie cools off I've kind of
10:24 given more of a kind of more I've forgotten about the film by then I think
10:27 I'm probably just gonna ultimately get taking the black Trident from black Adam
10:31 and returning it back to his rightful owner it's again a nice-looking figure
10:35 but I feel really again when you're comparing it with the rest of the figure
10:37 that we got from this wave obviously you always have to put the big bad guy in
10:40 there as well I mean he's I think from what I see he's sharing the spot as well
10:44 with black man - black man - basically he's gonna be taking the black Trident
10:46 from him but I feel like of the figures that we are getting for have gotten from
10:50 this figure wave at least King Kordex would likely be the one that's gonna be
10:54 warming the pegs just because again like once the movie has worn its way once
10:57 movie has found its way to be on theaters then the physical media and
11:01 then forgotten after that I think also King Kordex I hate to say will also be
11:04 forgotten just as forgotten as he is in the film apparently encased in ice King
11:09 Kordex may very well be one of those cases that while he may be a forgettable
11:12 figure in the long run for the short term at least he's a really
11:15 interestingly sculpted figure and I feel to the credit of McFarlane's team and
11:19 talented artists that work for the company they did put a lot of work to be
11:22 fair in the sculpting of the figure something I didn't really get the chance
11:25 to show you guys is underneath his tattered cape he actually has sort of
11:28 kind of his spinal cord sticking out and I think again like adding it all up to
11:32 the rest of the figures details there's a lot going on here that really wasn't
11:36 as much the case when we looked at maybe some of the other figures to be all
11:38 honestly fair like all the other Aquaman figures from the Lost Kingdom have all
11:42 been nicely sculpted figures but King Kordex even being really the forgettable
11:46 figure I think when it's all said and done is really the nicely the best
11:49 sculpted one it may not have as many of the paint applications though not
11:53 something really I tackled too much in this review but while he is sculpted
11:56 really nicely again I would have just appreciated a little bit of a wash over
11:59 top of the surface of the plastic just to bring out some of those details
12:02 there's so many of them on there just the work that they put so much into
12:05 sculpting the figure I wish that paint could have been also applied to it so
12:09 that a lot of those features could stand a lot better than what they are right
12:12 now and while again I've got the figure displayed right now with the black
12:15 trident ultimately though I will be stealing this away from King Kordex and
12:19 giving it to at least a temporary bearer of it black Manta until eventually again
12:24 I've seen the movie and it like everything else that's really in my
12:27 collection space everything really has a limited amount of time I usually put
12:31 these things on the shelf that are a tie-in to movie figures in fact the
12:34 black Adam figures I took down probably like about a month or so ago they look
12:38 great on the shelf but with the time and the space that's always fleeting in my
12:41 collection I had to kind of put them away for right now and put out the new
12:45 movie toys and of course the new movie toys for right now at least are the ones
12:48 we got here from Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom what do you guys think though of

12:54 enough interesting things about this figure that's worth still picking up and
12:57 if it isn't what of the fit for figures that we looked at from Aquaman are the
13:01 ones that you'll likely pick up for me right away black man Manta if you are
13:05 just kind of having a budget if to assign for one figure of the entire
13:09 four-figure wave definitely dedicate that money towards getting black Manta
13:12 you won't be disappointed but again what do you guys think of the figure let me
