00:00 Hi, I'm Digital Reporter Amy Seddon and today I'm going to test out one of only two Lancashire
00:05 restaurants nominated for a National Kebab Award this year. Greek Cuisine in Preston is up for
00:11 Best Greek Restaurant and Turkish Best Kebab in Burnley is up for Best Just Eat Delivery.
00:16 Burnley is a bit far for me to go during my lunch break so Greek's on the menu for me today.
00:21 Let's go! Located on Friargate since December 2021, Greek Cuisine is run by married Greek
00:28 couple Bill and Christina with help from their son Ephemis. I went just after the lunchtime rush on
00:33 a weekday so the restaurant was fairly quiet but the lively Greek music and bright decorations gave
00:39 the space a great atmosphere. I'm back from Greek Cuisine and luckily I didn't have to queue for my
00:44 food at all although there was still a good atmosphere with people coming and going the
00:48 whole time I was there. The wait for the food also wasn't very long so I've been able to run back to
00:53 the office and test it out whilst it's still warm. For the main I went for the gyros main mixed meat
00:59 and I also got the mosaic cake for a dessert. So now for the big reveal!
01:05 And as you can see half the box is my meat which is mixed chicken and pork and I also paid extra
01:15 for some garlic mayo. You could then choose two sides I went for the salad and the chips although
01:21 there was also rice. It smells really nice I can smell the herbs on the salad the garlic on the
01:29 meat. Let's go! My hungry eyes went straight for the sauce drenched chicken and pork and it was
01:35 even tastier than I expected. You can see I then found a pita bread underneath which I thought was
01:39 of great quality. The bread was thick not too oily and was fluffy but crisp enough to withstand me
01:45 piling the rest of the dish on it. Chicken wrap with garlic mayo used to be my go-to kebab shop
01:50 order so I thought I knew what taste I was going to get but Greek Cuisine's version was so much
01:55 better. The meat was well seasoned, thick and crisp it took your kebab shop staple and raised
02:01 it to restaurant level. I'm not much of a french fry girl but these were packed with a depth of
02:06 flavour that was so Moorish. They weren't greasy and they were the perfect level of saltiness.
02:10 The salad was also way better than you find in most takeaways. Every item was fresh, juicy and
02:16 crisp with not a limp lettuce in sight. All in all the different components paired really well
02:20 together to create the garlic meaty wrap I used to love as a student coming back from a night out
02:26 but this was an entirely different taste experience. Everything was high quality,
02:30 generously portioned and much more richly flavoured. At the end I was so full and thought
02:35 the dish was definitely worth the £13.60 I paid for it. Next I tried the mosaic cake, homemade by
02:42 Christina which comes in two slices. It smelt heavily on opening and tasted just that too.
02:47 It was full of chocolate and biscuit and was just so rich and Moorish. It was only £2.50
02:53 but tasted way more indulgent than that price tag. It was the perfect end to a very tasty meal.
