Tata Tigor iCNG AMT review by Promeet Ghosh. The Tata Tigor iCNG gets a new transmission option which is an AMT. It retains most of its other features, including the design, instrument cluster, and powertrain. However, it does get the CNG badging on the body of the car and the CNG meter on the car's dash.

00:00 Hi guys and welcome to Drivespark, I'm Prameet and today what we are driving is India's first
00:15 CNG sedan with an automatic gearbox and yes this is the all-new Tata Tigor iCNG and this
00:22 now comes with an AMT gearbox which makes it India's first CNG sedan to get an AMT
00:30 gearbox.
00:31 So let's quickly start this video and I'll tell you about this gearbox, rest of the car
00:35 remains the same I will just give you a brief.
00:38 So let's quickly start off with the front end of the car.
00:49 The front everything remains the same as you can see over there you get the LED DRLs, rest
00:53 everything is present in halogen, you have your headlamp cluster, big cluster, you have
00:58 a mix and match of projector and reflectors, you've got your fog lights, then you get a
01:03 lot of chrome at the front and rest everything remains the same, the design and all everything
01:08 nothing has been changed.
01:10 Overall if you move on to the side you get the same alloy wheels 14-inch alloy wheels
01:14 apart from that you get no body cladding, if you see the chrome that's present on the
01:20 side it is only present on the window trims and rest there is no chrome, you get a shark
01:26 fin antenna and if you move on to the back again the same treatment you get an iCNG badging,
01:32 you get your Tigor badging and then you of course get the high stop tail lamp as you
01:39 can see it runs all across and it's connected within a spoiler so it looks really nice and
01:45 yeah it's a big tail light so I mean yeah safety wise that is very important especially
01:50 during foggy weather.
01:52 Also you can see that the tail lights remain the same they are the clear tail lights with
01:57 a mix and match of LED and halogen, other than that if we talk about the boot space
02:05 I mean this is a twin CNG cylinder so apart from that Tata has set the CNG cylinders in
02:13 such a way that there is still space for luggage and those CNG cylinders actually can fill
02:19 up to around the water capacity is around 70 litre so yeah pretty big CNG tanks.
02:33 So moving on to the inside again the inside also remains the same nothing has changed
02:36 you get your 7-inch infotainment system, digital cluster over here, flat bottom steering wheel
02:43 and you have a certain amount of controls on one side, you do not get cruise control
02:47 with this car, automatic climate control is there, everything remains the same however
02:51 you get these body colour accents around the AC vents that actually look really really
02:57 nice so seats again are not changed however I find the backrest of the seat to be slightly
03:03 on the harder side but anyway the rear seats get three headrests, the centre one is a short
03:09 one, rest of the two headrests cannot be adjusted, you get a centre armrest with cup holders
03:13 but no rear AC vents.
03:16 Also guys I must say that the fire extinguisher is placed right under the passenger seat I
03:21 mean if you pull your feet a little behind it might hinder but that's a necessary thing
03:26 so I mean that can be stored in the boot but however they've kept it here.
03:31 Now let's come to the point and let's talk about the engine of the car so this is powered
03:42 by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine, the same engine that was powering the iCNG
03:47 manual so now this comes with an automatic gearbox and obviously you have two power figures
03:53 yes one with CNG and one with petrol so on CNG mode the car will produce around 74 PS
03:58 of power and in the petrol mode it will produce around 86 PS of power however torque remains
04:04 the same at 95 Nm it does not change but the power figure drops when you switch to CNG
04:10 and slightly increases when you switch to your petrol mode however the switch cannot
04:14 be felt because Aventara does a really good job, the switch from CNG to petrol or petrol
04:19 mode CNG is not at all felt in this car. Moreover guys this has got a ground clearance
04:26 of around 165 mm with all the load obviously there's CNG behind so I mean obviously the
04:32 suspension has to be tweaked the car becomes slightly heavy so they have tweaked the suspensions
04:35 behind because now they have two tanks and yes two tanks that means you have a water
04:40 capacity of around 70 litres for just with the two tanks of CNG and plus again I think
04:45 you have around 35 litres of a petrol tank so both full on a highway if you're cruising
04:52 you will definitely get around say you can go more than 700 kilometres and yes this gearbox
05:00 is slightly laggy it's a five-speed AMG it is slow but it does its job really well it's
05:06 a smooth gearbox shifts are kind of slow up shifts are slow down shift manual down shifts
05:12 are a little faster than the automatic up shifting so it takes its own time but yeah
05:18 I mean since you're buying this car it's a CNG it's a mild mancher you can definitely
05:23 cruise on this without any hesitation and this will just deliver mileage and with both
05:28 the tanks full as I told you 700 plus kilometres do not need to take much stops with this.
05:33 Overall good car slightly noisy cabin because I mean the engine noise and the outside noise
05:40 can be felt I feel that the insulation and the dampness could have been slightly better
05:46 overall very very smooth car so as far as the mileage is concerned we've been driving
05:51 this car since morning and this has been delivering us around 17.2 - 17.3 kilometres per litre
05:58 in petrol mode however when I switch to CNG the average and the distance to empty just
06:02 goes away when I switch back to petrol mode I think it comes back so I think that is how
06:06 the setting is.
06:07 So you also got a TPMS right in front of you that will show you a tyre pressure of four
06:10 individual tyres four individual tyre pressures it's in PSI and yeah guys so this is the Tata
06:19 Tigor ICNG automatic very good car slightly slow the gearbox is slightly slow it's an
06:25 AMT but overall I mean it will do its job really really well it's a good city and highway
06:32 cruiser and as far as mileage is concerned I've already told you that this will give
06:36 you excellent mileage.
06:37 So guys if you're looking out for a vehicle that is CNG it's got all the features and
06:41 as far as safety is concerned this has got airbags ABS EBD and many more things that
06:48 increases the safety feature and plus it's also got a four-star global safety rating
06:53 so yeah you can definitely go check out the Tata Tigor ICNG automatic and if you like
