00:00 Hi and welcome back to another episode of Screen Babble Weekend Watch. I'm Stephen,
00:04 National World's Digital Trends Writer, and I'll be talking you through the big shows and films
00:10 coming to TV, streaming and the cinema this weekend and beyond. So Friday the 1st of March,
00:17 we have a new Adam Sandler/Cary Mulligan film coming to Netflix, that's Spaceman. Also stars
00:25 Isabella Rossellini and Paul Dano. The sci-fi film follows an astronaut sent on a mission to
00:31 the edge of the solar system who encounters a creature that helps him put his earthly problems
00:36 back together. Then we have another K-drama coming out on Friday as well on Disney+. This is Wonderful
00:44 World. It's the story of Yeon Soo Hyun, a successful female professor of psychology
00:52 whose life unravels when her son is murdered. She becomes consumed by revenge as she is driven to
01:00 despair by the tragic events. There's 14 episodes in this new series and they'll be released on
01:05 Disney+ on Fridays and Saturdays weekly, so two episodes coming out each week. And then again
01:13 on Friday the 1st, we have what will probably be the cinematic event of the year. We have June Part
01:20 2. It's the epic sci-fi sequel directed by Denis Villeneuve and starring Timothy Chamelet, Zendaya,
01:28 Dave Bautista, Christopher Walken, Austin Butler, many, many others. It's the story of Paul Atreides
01:34 of Arrakis who unites with Chani and the Fremen army and seeks revenge against the conspirators
01:43 who destroyed his family and killed his father. It's going to be a pretty epic 2 hour 45 sci-fi
01:51 odyssey, so definitely one to watch if that's your thing. I'll be at the midnight screening,
01:56 so I'll let you guys know how it goes afterwards. So this may get a little overshadowed by June,
02:03 but a new Ryan Gosling/Emily Blunt action comedy is also coming to cinemas. That's The Fall Guy.
02:09 It follows a stuntman who left the business to focus on rebuilding his physical and mental health,
02:14 but he's drafted back into service when the star of a big budget movie that's being directed by
02:19 his ex goes missing. On Saturday the 2nd of March, we have the Brit Awards on ITV1 at 8.30pm.
02:26 The big British music awards. This year they'll be hosted by Clara Amfo, Maya Jama and Roman Kemp.
02:35 On Sunday the 3rd, we have an interesting Channel 4 true crime documentary series starting. That's
02:40 The Push Murder on the Cliff. It follows the death of a young lawyer who fell from the top
02:48 of Arthur's seat in Edinburgh in 2021, and her husband was soon arrested for her murder.
02:55 And as the trial begins, strange secrets come into play. So the first episode's on Sunday the 3rd,
03:02 and the second episode of this two-part documentary series comes out the following day,
03:05 on Monday the 4th at the same time. Also on Monday, we have Celebrity Big Brother.
03:11 That's the first season since the show's been rebooted on ITV1, coming on Monday the 4th at 9pm.
03:20 The line-up has still not been confirmed, but ITV has splashed out 2 million on contestants,
03:26 and various big names have been rumoured. But yeah, the new series will run for about 3 weeks,
03:32 and it starts on Monday. Then Tuesday the 5th, we have a Netflix docu-series,
03:39 the programme Cons, Cults and Kidnapping. This is a big exposé into the troubled teen industry.
03:45 The series is created by a woman who was taken to Ivy Ridge Academy, which was advertised as
03:53 being able to rehabilitate troubled teens, but her experience there was more like a prison.
03:58 She was not allowed to smile, she couldn't have much access to the outside world,
04:03 and she essentially was trapped there. So this is a big, deep dive into the culture of
04:11 this troubled teen industry. Then on Wednesday the 6th, another Channel 4 documentary,
04:17 The Rise and Fall of Boris Johnson. This is a four-parter airing weekly at 9pm, and it explores
04:25 the scandals and downfall of Boris Johnson, whose career was a real boom-bust story in British
04:34 politics, from London mayor to eventually Prime Minister, and then very quickly to
04:40 Daily Mail columnist. Definitely one to watch. That's all from me. Thanks very much for
04:47 listening, and join me again next week for more weekend watch recommendations.
