00:10 >> And we are back with another episode of How 'Bout Them,
00:13 Celtics Seminary here recording Wednesday, April 3rd,
00:15 after the Celtics big win over the Oklahoma City Thunder at TD Garden,
00:19 35-point win for the C's, 100-35 was the final score.
00:24 This is supposed to be a full podcast,
00:25 but if you watch Talking C's,
00:27 the pregame show yesterday,
00:28 you know that we weren't able to record because my dog, Duke,
00:31 decided to pick through the trash and spread it all over my house.
00:34 So I had to clean it up, and that was literally
00:35 the only one-hour window we had to record yesterday,
00:38 and well, that ruined it.
00:40 So you guys get a game recap tonight and apologies.
00:43 That's on me, but mostly on Duke.
00:46 >> Yeah.
00:47 >> It's on the universe.
00:49 I just think it was a day we had planned,
00:52 and then the plans had a wrench thrown into them,
00:54 and then the wrench just-
00:57 >> Another wrench.
00:58 >> All of the structure, the thing collapsed.
01:01 >> Yeah.
01:02 >> So we did our best, we're sorry.
01:04 >> Again, a reminder, leave a like on the video,
01:08 subscribe to How About Them Celtics,
01:09 comment what's popping for a chance to win $10, excuse me,
01:12 and pop into a gift card.
01:13 But a wrench might have been thrown into our plans,
01:16 but the Celtics just,
01:17 they brought in all the tools in the toolbox for this win.
01:20 It was a pretty dominant following a fairly close start to the game.
01:24 Again, 135 to 100 blowout for the Seas, 33 assists on the night.
01:29 Kristaps Perzengis had 27, Tatum had 24 in only 29 minutes.
01:33 Jalen Brown exploded for 15 points in the fourth,
01:35 capping off a 23-point performance on a otherwise rocky night.
01:39 Al Horford had a good game himself, and
01:41 sort of everybody did a little bit of everything in this one.
01:44 Excuse me, I've had something in my throat all night.
01:45 Just, I will say, this is another, I was about to say March, but it's April now,
01:52 April game, regular season.
01:54 This might have been the least energetic crowd I've ever,
02:00 I've seen to this point, which makes sense.
02:02 No Shea, no Jalen Williams.
02:03 And they got up for the big moments, like the Celtics went on a run.
02:06 It was a big pop, KP threw down an alley-oop, it was a big pop.
02:08 But just like, throughout the course of the game, you could tell that
02:12 not only did the Celtics understand that this is a useless game in April, but
02:16 the crowd knew it too.
02:17 Regardless, this is exactly what you were supposed to do in those useless games, so
02:20 good job, Celtics.
02:22 Yeah.
02:23 I mean, I, you gotta give them credit.
02:25 I feel like the crowd got up every once in a while when the noise meter came on the screen.
02:29 Yeah.
02:30 They, they got for the pops.
02:31 They got for the pops.
02:34 This was a really interesting game because it didn't go as smoothly as it should have
02:39 for a while.
02:40 And then all of a sudden the Celtics flipped a switch, which is nice to see because they
02:44 do have a switch.
02:45 We've talked about the switch for a while.
02:47 And the switch was evident today, the entire game.
02:50 I feel like the story of this one was Jalen.
02:53 Jalen was atrocious for a while.
02:55 A lot of people were like, what's wrong with him?
02:58 How hard is his left hand?
02:59 I mean, he had a couple of turnovers solely based off like, Hey, he missed the dribble
03:05 with the left hand dribble out of bounds, his left hand.
03:08 And then the fourth quarter rolled around.
03:10 He said, that's enough of that.
03:11 He made all the shots.
03:12 He scored 10 quick points to bury the thunder.
03:15 Like you can say front runner, I guess if you really want to, but it was a situation
03:20 where the game was kind of close.
03:21 They didn't do a great job in the third quarter.
03:24 I agree.
03:25 And there was some concern heading into the fourth, whether or not the Tatum list group
03:29 would be able to survive.
03:31 And Jalen to his credit stepped up big time, five turnovers on the box score is never pretty,
03:35 but the fourth quarter was a masterpiece from him and the rest of the fellows too.
03:39 So I was just happy to see they flipped a switch.
03:41 This was a game that was 10 points down to six points.
03:45 Did it get lower than that?
03:47 I think it six was the lowest, but then all of a sudden it's 35.
03:51 Yeah, they, they just balloon this lead.
03:53 They locked in, they figured it out.
03:55 Okay.
03:56 You see, you were some free throw merchants on the night, taking 28 and making 25 of them.
04:02 They were in fact, it'd be like, but like you said, Jalen Brown, turn it up in the,
04:05 in the fourth quarter.
04:06 I agree that he was emblematic, excuse me, of the storyline of the game, but this game
04:11 was all Chris stops forcing fire 11 to 14 from the field, three or three from deep.
04:17 I'm not saying you're saying it wasn't, I'm just the point of first off was awesome.
04:20 27 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, five blocks.
04:23 Again, he's on a block party lately, three offensive rebounds, a steal in there as well.
04:27 He only missed three shots on the night.
04:31 He talked about the block party after the game where Joe talked about it.
04:34 Versed, he was asked about it.
04:35 I think Jared Weiss was asking about it.
04:36 He said he's learning the timing of help based on where, where you are is really hard to
04:40 do because of his work in the film room and on the floor.
04:42 He's game to really feel for that.
04:43 Meanwhile, poor Zingas about the block party says my legs are a little bit better, but
04:46 mostly it's just starting to turn up a little bit more understanding that we have playoffs
04:50 soon.
04:51 I want to be my best in the best moments for the playoffs.
04:53 Just getting into that mindset and finish the finishing the regular season strong.
04:56 That's what I'm trying to do.
04:57 So that tells me Chris stops is ramping it up already.
05:00 The defense has looked incredible.
05:01 He started to play more of that helper role where he's rotating over and not just playing
05:05 straight drop.
05:06 He's kind of sinking back in the paint and ready to help on drives.
05:08 He, he had a super cool put back dunk over the entire Thunder defense.
05:11 He shoved Josh getting in the back right after it was a fun time.
05:17 This was, I don't think it was the best poor Zingas game of the season, but this is like,
05:22 but maybe the best two way poor Zingas game of the season.
05:25 Cause he was even the most dominant poor Zingas game of the season.
05:27 I think that is a good, like, like chat's a damn good player too.
05:32 Chet's quality.
05:33 Chet has some excellent footwork down low.
05:35 Let me tell you, he's so patient in the post.
05:37 He reminds me of worth who nobody listened to this knows who it is, but it's somebody
05:42 we play with who is excellent underneath the basket.
05:44 So just watching him play was pretty interesting.
05:48 And then poor Zingas just having his most dominant game of the season was something
05:52 to see.
05:53 I love seeing him block shots.
05:54 I like seeing him take over in the post.
05:56 I liked seeing him make all the threes today.
05:58 I was a little bit concerned about poor Zingas shooting threes over the last X amount of
06:03 games since he came back from his, what was it?
06:05 Hamstring injury, muscle injury, whatever the problem he was dealing with was.
06:11 So now that he's dropping them, it's sick to watch.
06:15 I mean, just giving him the ball in the post is a cheat code.
06:18 There was one play in particular that I laughed out loud.
06:21 He catches the ball left side of the floor, turns.
06:25 Okay.
06:26 See, sends a double.
06:27 The ball has been above his head the entire time.
06:29 He just throws it off the glass and it effortless.
06:32 It's unfair at times.
06:35 And then when he's blocking shots like he was today, it's really tough to deal with
06:39 them.
06:40 Just like overall, like good big three game Tatum, another guy that you didn't really
06:46 have to feel Tatum today.
06:47 And I feel like Tatum's at his best when you don't have to feel, there are great Tatum
06:51 games where you do feel them too.
06:53 But I love when Tatum's able to have a 24 point night and fill the rest of the stat
06:59 sheet out clean turnover game for him to zero turnovers, two of five from three.
07:04 Like he did have a takeover stretch.
07:06 I think it was second, third quarter.
07:08 He had 11 in the quarter.
07:09 So he exploded there for a long stretch.
07:13 Just just impressive stuff from the guys today.
07:15 A lot of guys.
07:16 Jack, did we win a prize picks today?
07:18 I think we did.
07:19 We won less than 10 times because we pushed.
07:23 We pushed it.
07:24 Yes.
07:25 Because Giddy had exactly 17.
07:26 You push it.
07:27 You push the entire thing.
07:30 I don't know.
07:31 I'm going to I'll go look.
07:32 Did we want to practice?
07:33 That can't be the case.
07:34 Let me log in.
07:36 I don't know.
07:37 But anyways, seven as far as double figures.
07:40 Yeah, the Celtics, they picked them apart.
07:44 We pushed it.
07:45 We did.
07:46 We are not pushed it.
07:47 But like we didn't get the full value, but we did get it.
07:49 We got we got one instead of 10 X.
07:51 We got five X.
07:53 Yeah.
07:54 So we got 10 to win 50.
07:55 So we won 50.
07:56 We were due.
07:57 We take it.
07:58 We're back.
07:59 Or technically, technically, we won 40 because it gave me my 10 back and then added.
08:07 So but like total 50.
08:08 So technically, we won 40.
08:09 So I don't like that.
08:10 I could see on us.
08:11 I'm going to send us as far as Tatum, though, I was just going to say, like, you really
08:15 didn't feel him in this game.
08:17 It didn't feel but it felt the good part about it is it felt like he took the shots that
08:21 just came to him.
08:22 Right.
08:23 There was a couple of shots and I wrote them down in my little notebook here.
08:24 We don't have to watch him because I'm going to pull it up.
08:27 There were a couple shots in the third quarter, which is maybe when you notice the run where
08:30 he had this.
08:31 I'm going to pull it up now.
08:34 He had these two plays in a row in the third quarter.
08:36 We made two buckets and he he drove on one and took a midi in the other.
08:39 And they weren't the exact same play, but they were close enough where he like picked
08:42 apart the same matchup.
08:44 I think he had Isaiah Joe.
08:46 I remember I can't.
08:50 There was one where pull up shoot Nate on Twitter.
08:54 Isaiah Joe Aaron.
08:56 This is tough.
08:57 Yeah, sorry.
08:58 I think I'm lying here because the garden Wi-Fi is bad.
09:01 So this is a nice.
09:02 Yeah, you like.
09:03 So I can't.
09:05 I appreciate that.
09:06 I really can't catch a break today.
09:08 I truly this is just not a miracle.
09:11 I'm not like it is storming out.
09:14 It's tough.
09:18 Talk about it.
09:19 Is that.
09:20 Let me change the Wi-Fi.
09:22 I don't know if Sam's your face froze.
09:24 I don't know if I'm going to have that.
09:28 I don't know.
09:29 You froze like this.
09:30 You're like, man.
09:32 It is what a day and it's a long day because you woke up early.
09:36 I'm exhausted.
09:37 I slept like crap last night.
09:39 I woke up three times last night, too.
09:41 I woke up at six because I couldn't sleep.
09:42 I woke up at eight because Duke was crying because he wanted me to lift him on my bed.
09:45 And I woke up at nine to get up.
09:47 That day horrendous.
09:49 You know, you're horrendous because you either you don't sleep at all.
09:51 You're sleep too much.
09:55 Is it very rarely sleep?
09:57 Well, yes, in the sense that I'm late to stuff like I don't sleep.
10:01 I never sleep too much.
10:03 That is.
10:04 I think that happens.
10:05 I just it sucks.
10:07 Anyways, hopefully, if the Wi-Fi allows it, I'm trying to switch to my hotspot, but my
10:10 computer won't even let me do that.
10:11 So this is phenomenal.
10:13 You've been clean for a couple of minutes here.
10:15 Now that you're going to try and talk to you, watch.
10:18 You watch how it goes.
10:21 It felt like Tatum was doing well in finding the right shots at the right time.
10:26 I'm going to share my screen here.
10:27 And if it lags and I quit sharing my screen for the rest of the evening, but we'll see
10:31 what happens here.
10:32 I think we're clean for now, as long as you can see it.
10:33 But I know there were two plays.
10:37 There were two.
10:38 Shut the fuck up.
10:39 They do not want you to see this play in the in the third quarter.
10:42 They really don't.
10:43 And it's two plays in a row.
10:44 And I'm really hoping it'll let me show it because I really enjoyed the plays and I thought
10:47 they were good.
10:48 So Peyton Pritchard has the ball at the top of the key.
10:50 Just ran a screen and roll Tatum screens Tatum gets Isaiah Joe on him or Aaron Wiggins.
10:55 I can't tell.
10:56 I think it's Aaron Wiggins, but I can't tell.
10:58 But he gets the Thunder defender on his back and he's posting up facing rather than a little
11:05 bit.
11:06 Pritchard can feed defender over.
11:08 Tatum gets an easy path to the basket and he misses the layup, but he tips back in.
11:11 Good drive by Tatum.
11:12 The very next play, they go to a similar thing, except this time it's Derek White screening
11:17 off the ball.
11:18 Peyton Pritchard dribbles at the top of the key and Tatum posts up the exact same player.
11:22 Again, it's either Isaiah Joe or Andrew Wiggins.
11:24 I don't know if you can still hear me because I'm buffering on multiple angles, but I hear
11:28 you.
11:29 I'm trying my best to play in my back.
11:34 I know, I know it.
11:36 This is my own fault.
11:39 Again a similar thing, except this time Derek.
11:42 I can't win the plays buffering.
11:46 I'm not going to show it.
11:47 I quit the play.
11:48 Do you want me to show it?
11:49 It's making my stream lag.
11:51 No, I quit.
11:53 I'm annoyed.
11:59 It's okay.
12:00 They're there.
12:01 Oh my God, you might lag out.
12:05 This is what it feels like to be Jack.
12:08 There you go.
12:10 You came back.
12:12 This must be how it is when I freeze and then you come back and I'm ready to shoot somebody.
12:17 I'm sorry that you feel like this.
12:21 I just get defeated.
12:23 You just okay.
12:24 I'm going to lag in for a sec, but it should be the last time because I'm connecting to
12:26 my phone.
12:27 Okay.
12:28 For what it's worth, I know you have a train to catch, but like I'm not in a hurry.
12:33 I'm back.
12:34 So I'm on the phone.
12:35 I'm not in any hurry.
12:36 So don't feel that bad.
12:37 You're the one that has a train to catch.
12:40 I'm just irritated.
12:41 Can you hear me now?
12:42 Am I back?
12:43 I can hear you.
12:44 You're clean.
12:45 Can you hear me now?
12:47 What a mess.
12:48 I don't know how much I'm going to cut out or not, but the point is the second play,
12:54 Derek White screens for Jason Tatum.
12:55 He gets to the same spot in the post against Isaiah Joe slash air wing is I couldn't tell
12:59 who it is and I can't check because my computer is lagging.
13:02 But since the guy is expecting a drive this time, Tatum is able to create space and pull
13:06 up for a mid range shot.
13:07 I thought it was a good example of Tatum picking his spots and being able to take selective
13:13 shots.
13:14 Now you only took five threes.
13:15 It was a good mix for him.
13:17 All I wanted to say was good job Tatum and it took me 10 minutes instead of looking to
13:23 but good for him.
13:24 I have a I have pulled up.
13:27 I already I already described it, but you can pull up.
13:30 All right.
13:31 We don't have to roll the dice.
13:32 I just I'm just another good thing.
13:37 Al Horford beast beast in the post a couple of times made a couple of threes.
13:40 Another big Horford game.
13:41 It feels like he's been on here lately.
13:42 I know you talked to me recently, but Al's been real fun.
13:46 I was just about to say, I feel like we've had like a bunch of good Horford games in
13:49 a row.
13:50 So I'm pulling up his basketball reference.
13:52 Let's see.
13:53 Last five games tonight.
13:54 Fifteen.
13:55 Oh, no, no, not tonight.
13:56 Sorry.
13:57 Fifteen points against Charlotte.
13:58 Nine points against New Orleans.
14:00 Seven against Atlanta.
14:01 Twenty three against Atlanta and eight against Milwaukee.
14:06 But a couple of double digit games there and tonight is the third one.
14:09 So anytime you get a big boy Horford game, it's a it's a ton of fun to watch.
14:15 I like when he's finishing underneath the basket.
14:17 I think that's just where you're going to get the most value from him.
14:20 I really think there's a lot to gain there if he's able to drop step quickly, throw it
14:25 off the glass.
14:26 It's just a nice, reliable thing.
14:28 It just hasn't been there all year.
14:30 So I do hope he's efficient in the playoffs.
14:32 I've loved watching him.
14:33 I like his energy.
14:35 He had a really funny play where.
14:37 OK, so he was kind of pressing and then they gave it to Horford and nobody picked him up
14:42 at all.
14:43 So we got a free layup, just ran right down the middle.
14:45 Yeah, he's been good.
14:48 It's been fun to see him get back to his his post up days.
14:51 It's been very good.
14:53 A lot of Pritchard ball handler today.
14:56 It felt like I was going to talk about him next.
14:57 Now he ruled he was awesome in this game.
14:59 He wasn't super efficient for ten for the field, one of four from three, but eight assists,
15:03 four rebounds, two steals.
15:04 He had that sweet pass after Tatum had a super cool play that I would show if my computer
15:08 wasn't.
15:09 I don't even know shit.
15:13 So Tatum got a rebound, but tipped it right to Pritchard on the fast break rather than
15:17 grabbing the rebound.
15:18 He tipped it so I kept the momentum going and Pritchard just like slung it all the way
15:21 up the court to Drew Holiday.
15:23 He's been really, really, really good.
15:24 The way he's been able to snake in and out of the defense is that he's been able to like
15:27 dude, if he gets somebody on his back in the post in the drive, like you're you're cooked,
15:32 you're done.
15:33 He's so good at positioning his body on drives and stuff.
15:36 So Pritchard's really been impressing me and Joe stuck to a we're only going eight guys
15:40 deep for the grand majority of the game tonight.
15:44 And Pritchard was one of them and he rocked.
15:45 Shout out Pritchard.
15:47 Football season may be over, but the action on the floor is heating up.
15:51 Whether it's a tournament season or the fight for a playoff home court, there's no shortage
15:56 of high stakes basketball moments this time of year.

16:35 Use the code CLNS for the first deposit match up to $100.
16:40 Pick more, pick less.
16:41 It's that easy.
16:42 I mean, Pritchard team high assists eight, eight assists tonight.
16:49 Yeah.
16:50 And that's as the bench guy, game high assists actually as the bench guy that kind of gets
16:56 to handle the ball.
16:57 I mean, it really felt like he was one of the primary dribblers today.
16:59 So you have to take that one with a grain of salt, but to see him step up when he's
17:04 given the opportunity is always encouraging.
17:06 And that's just been the story of Pritchard since he's been on the Celtics.
17:10 As a rookie, he was given extended run because that team really wasn't very good.
17:13 Kemba was hurt all the time and he, he thrived.
17:16 He got us all to talk about him as a future piece of this team.
17:20 This season, he's gotten more of an opportunity after watching a lot of games from the bench
17:24 last year and specifically the last couple of weeks when holiday slash Derek white have
17:30 had to miss a little bit of time.
17:32 He's gotten an extended bulk of minutes and he has capitalized.
17:36 He's just been able to score at will.
17:39 He had his fingerprints all over the box when a couple of weeks ago, he looked good tonight.
17:43 It looked good in some of the other games.
17:45 I don't know off the top of my head, primary examples from the road trip because the road
17:50 trip was kind of a blur.
17:51 But we've seen probably the best basketball over the last month, month and a half of Pritchard's
17:56 NBA career.
17:57 And I don't think that there's white, Derek White said Pritchard should have won player
18:01 of the month.
18:02 The month he won it, he said Pritchard would have been a peepee instead of me.
18:06 Now Pritchard was great.
18:07 The bucks, by the way, who are now below 500 with Doc Rivers at the helm, lost to the Grizzlies
18:12 tonight.
18:13 Ugly.
18:14 So speaking of Derek White, he was solid, very, very quiet game from him.
18:19 He had a point six assists, played 31 minutes, was just solid.
18:22 He had his usual block, plucks at home run, I believe he was fine.
18:27 Drew Holiday, it felt like he was having a cold shooting night for a while there.
18:31 He only had two or six from three, but he was a team or second to team high behind Horford
18:35 plus 31.
18:36 Horford was a plus 32.
18:37 His defense is really solid tonight.
18:39 He kind of did a lot of stuff that you don't really see in the box door, but he ended up
18:42 shooting five and nine to a 612, seven, four for Drew.
18:45 So not really much to complain about there.
18:47 He was another solid game.
18:48 It feels like Drew is sort of settling into the role of going to give you solid defense
18:52 every night, but it does not settling into.
18:54 Obviously, he's done that all fucking season.
18:56 What I wanted to say was it feels like he's still trying to find a shot since the injury.
19:01 It hasn't exactly been there.
19:02 You've seen flashes in the corner and stuff, but it hasn't been there as consistently,
19:06 which you want to see him ramp back up in the playoffs.
19:08 But my point was, regardless, you're still going to get one of the best defenders in
19:12 the world.
19:13 And you saw that against the Thunder, even when his three point shot wasn't falling.
19:16 I mean, that's the story with a lot of the guys that aren't named Jason Jalen or Chris
19:22 stops on this team.
19:24 Everybody else has the ability to defend the ability to knock down shots.
19:31 And I would say it's safe to bet that at least three of the remaining five are going to show
19:39 up for you on both ends of the floor on any given night.
19:41 And you'll have to live with the other two being a little bit cold.
19:45 Not a bad problem or a situation to have heading into the playoffs.
19:49 Like the fact that Derek White was able to shoot just five shots today and still be pretty
19:54 impactful and drew holiday only has to take nine shots and is still getting 12 points,
20:00 seven rebounds and four assists.
20:02 He's got his fingerprints all over wins.
20:05 He had the high plus minus, like you mentioned.
20:08 He's just like meant to be a part of this team.
20:11 So is Horford like it is.
20:14 Sorry, I didn't mean to cut you off.
20:16 It is unbelievably perfect.
20:20 How perfect drew in KPR for this team.
20:23 It is like unbelievable how Brad Stephens has managed to do this.
20:27 It is incredible.
20:28 Yeah.
20:29 In the article from the ringer today, profiling drew holiday, which was an excellent read,
20:33 by the way, you shared it to Twitter.
20:35 And if you haven't read it, go on the ringer.
20:36 It's the one with the picture holiday on the front.
20:38 I really don't know.
20:39 My Marion Fader.
20:40 She is fucking amazing.
20:43 When RJ sent us that email, I said, like, who your favorite writer is.
20:45 I said her and she's phenomenal, but it was excellent.
20:50 And there's a section of it that kind of talks about one Drew's arrival to the Celtics where
20:55 he's just like, I'll just do whatever, like I'm here to help.
20:58 And then it kind of talks about Brad Stephens and how he put this team together and how
21:02 his college coach background helps him in his new role.
21:09 This is a college coach.
21:11 You have endless options when it comes to players that you can recruit, but you have
21:16 to kind of lean into the ones that you think fit best.
21:18 And it feels like that's what he's done to build this team where.
21:21 Yeah, OK.
21:23 Last year, Porzingis had probably the best year of his career and holiday was an all
21:27 star and they both came here.
21:29 Porzingis has probably kept up his workload and has been just as killer.
21:33 But holiday has had to take a step back.
21:35 He's shooting the fewest shots.
21:36 This is rookie year.
21:37 I wrote like a ton about him back in December, how impressed I was that he was able to take
21:42 on this leadership role, play defense and take like no shots, still be efficient.
21:47 It's still happening.
21:48 It's April.
21:49 This hasn't been a fall off the cliff thing.
21:50 It's consistent.
21:51 It's awesome.
21:52 It is awesome.
21:53 And you saying it that way, like true holiday coming off his all star season, Chris Thompson
21:59 is coming off arguably the best season of his career.
22:01 How Brad Stephens slipped Brogdon Smart and Robert Williams one first round pick in a
22:06 second or something like that, but like one first into two guys coming off arguably the
22:10 best years of their careers, at least in Austin.
22:13 It's what you can say.
22:15 And we haven't even talked about yet.
22:17 Like win number 60.
22:19 Yeah, Clint, Clint, Drew and not true.
22:22 Excuse me, Joe and Chris stops talked about it postgame and provided some good perspective
22:27 on how they were going to go into this game, treating it as that because they need to find
22:34 motivation, motivation, excuse me, Joe said, was asked if they celebrated it.
22:38 Joe said of celebrating it is as much as quote, bring it in, shake everybody's hand and don't
22:43 take it for granted.
22:44 Then yeah, we definitely talked about it as a team, talked about it before the game.
22:47 Treat this game as a clincher.
22:48 I think it was important for us to simulate that.
22:50 I think it's a testament to the guys tonight.
22:52 We'll enjoy it tomorrow.
22:53 Nobody cares.
22:54 Classic show.
22:55 Good for him.
22:56 And then Chris stops said it or talked about it as well.
22:59 So we have to find for each of these games as we're heading down towards the end of the
23:03 season, some type of motivation for this game.
23:05 It was like, OK, if we win, we can achieve something.
23:08 Joe kind of poked us a little bit and let us know that we could go into it.
23:10 So they were very aware of it.
23:12 And it was their motivation for finding a reason for this game in April.
23:16 And yeah, best record in the NBA for 61 seasons since 09 have a chance to win more games than
23:22 that.
23:23 That are nine season and I think match the season from 08 because they can get up to
23:27 66.
23:30 My only question is, if that was their motivation tonight, what the fuck is going to be the
23:33 motivation for the rest of the season?
23:35 That quite literally does not matter at all.
23:37 The rest of the season is not to prove he's the superior European big guy to the bonus
23:43 big fuck you game to Portland with Brogdon Banton on that team.
23:47 Fuck Milwaukee.
23:48 Fuck the Knicks.
23:51 Grant's in town for Charlotte.
23:53 And then you want to win on Mike Gorman Day.
23:55 They play Charlotte again.
23:56 I don't know.
23:57 Yeah.
23:58 I don't know, man.
24:02 Only other thing from the game.
24:04 Sam Houser, some super cool mid ranges.
24:07 I just thought those were fun.
24:08 I just think it was funny.
24:09 He went back to back fade away.
24:10 Middies tool in the bag.
24:12 It is.
24:13 It's nice because it keeps defenders honest.
24:16 Not that you know, if you're a mathematician of a defender, you're like, you don't want
24:20 to be a two point jump shot rather than a three point jump shot.
24:23 But still, you at least have to close out carefully instead of recklessly where you
24:27 can just be like, OK, if I get there, he's not going to do anything if he doesn't have
24:31 a three point shot.
24:32 If he's able to drive and make mid ranges, then maybe a domino effect happens where help
24:39 defenders start flying out a little bit on the drive and he can create for his teammates.
24:44 This isn't going to be Sam Houser, the playmaker, Sam Houser, the the heliocentric God.
24:49 But it is something else that he can add to his game, kind of like what we saw Grant try
24:53 and do last year, except Grant sucked at it and didn't really do a great job.
24:58 I was going to say, is this version of Houser better than Grant ever was in this altitude
25:01 or I think it's really hard to say, because I think Grant did a really, really good job
25:06 taking on premier defensive assignments where Houser's job on defense is essentially Luke
25:11 Cornett's role all the time is you just don't want to notice him.
25:15 Don't notice.
25:16 Yeah, yeah.
25:17 So, but I think they're probably equal.
25:21 Not until Sam Houser has his patented 17 three point attempts game in the playoffs.
25:27 Hey, I'm feeling last thing for you.
25:33 Not that you're nervous about it.
25:40 Last thing before we get out of here, Jay Geisenberg commented on it.
25:43 So some people comment on it.
25:44 I tweeted the quote, Jalen Brown talked about the results of his hand injury.
25:47 I think I got like a sprain or strain on a ligament in my left hand or excuse me, not
25:51 in my hand.
25:52 I think it is left foot, but I think it's fine.
25:54 It's something I'm not concerned with moving forward, but it bothered me a little tonight.
25:57 Part of it is playing through it because it gives you more information, but I think it's
26:00 nothing to be concerned about.
26:01 And all the replies to my tweet was stop playing.
26:04 Just please don't don't play anymore.
26:08 And for what it's worth, he did look like he was struggling tonight before that fourth
26:11 quarter.
26:12 And I don't know if it was related to the hand, but he answered one of the questions
26:16 and started like, yeah, I play like shit tonight.
26:17 I turned it up in the fourth and I was bad.
26:19 He did not want to be on the podium.
26:21 I don't know if it's because he was mad at his performance.
26:23 I don't know if because he was tired, like a lot of things that can go into it.
26:25 He was not about to watch the presser.
26:28 He was not about to ask him.
26:30 It sounds like you don't want to be here.
26:31 Is it like because you don't feel like you played well, you tired?
26:35 Well, Gary asked him, like, are you tired because of Ramadan?
26:38 Like, what's the toll on Jones goes?
26:40 No.
26:41 So I just think he was not about it tonight.
26:43 Like he just didn't want to be there.
26:44 As far as the injury thing, I do think there's a balance between you do want to play and
26:48 get used to it and get it ramped back up because you don't want to go completely the playoffs
26:51 gold.
26:52 But at the same time, like maybe take a couple off, take, you know, chill out a little bit.
26:56 You don't play every game.
26:58 Let's calm down.
26:59 I think now that's all this got to go into the cycle of, OK, I'll stole my flare up again.
27:03 Chris stops is going to have a little maybe doesn't play.
27:06 This is where we're going to start to see the fuckery come around, which I am good with.
27:10 Please.
27:11 It's my time to suit up.
27:12 Plain simple.
27:13 Get us up.
27:14 I saw Jan Packard, I think, tweet it.
27:17 I want to find the exact tweet just so I can give him his credit.
27:21 But as we talked about, like it's time in the season where people can maybe games don't
27:26 matter.
27:27 You can start sitting guys.
27:28 He tweeted.
27:29 I really hope it was him and not someone else.
27:33 It was.
27:34 Yeah.
27:35 Imagine if the Celtics did a surprise Blake Griffin signing and introduce him into the
27:38 starting lineup.
27:40 Total Electric Factory, please.
27:41 That'd be sick.
27:43 That would be funny.
27:46 Just last game of the season, just like the Tristan Thompson Lakers signing last year's
27:51 fucking signed Blake Griffin, suit him up one day for the Wizards game.
27:54 He doesn't have to stay around for playoffs if he doesn't want to just let him start against
27:57 the Wizards.
27:58 And he probably could dominate because Washington doesn't have any big guys at all.
28:03 Just bring him back for one day only, and then he can.
28:07 I still my favorite like some end of the bench storyline would be Joe playing because I think
28:15 Joe could actually at least like be out there.
28:18 You know what I mean?
28:19 Like if I went out there, it would be like impossible.
28:21 Like I could not guard people at all.
28:23 Like not to say Joe isn't like I don't want to disrespect NBA players.
28:30 Obviously, they were there for a reason.
28:31 I think.
28:32 Respectfully, he'd be a C tier Pat Beverly, which is fine.
28:36 Sure, go do that.
28:37 Yeah, like he doesn't really.
28:38 It would be like kind of funny.
28:40 I mean, like if he's ever in a good mood, you should ask him, be like, what do you think?
28:46 I think I I brought it up.
28:49 Remember when he wore the headband?
28:50 I was like, people want to see where the headband people so they want to get you.
28:53 Actually, maybe I just asked about the headband and not the playing.
28:56 Maybe it will.
28:57 There's a lot like I'm going to try to dunk in a while or something.
29:00 I remember that.
29:01 Yeah, the vibes were weird tonight.
29:03 The vibes we got were it was a lot of like very PR answers.
29:06 No one was really like happy or upbeat about it.
29:09 They're just like, yeah, I think everyone's want to fucking go home because I think it
29:12 was long road trip, got home for a day.
29:14 Now we had another game.
29:15 I'm I'm overwhelmed.
29:16 Maybe I'll do like a what what would I like to see them do with the 15 spot article?
29:22 But like a shit, you should do.
29:24 Yeah, it's like I don't want to do what you did because you did a serious like breakdown.
29:28 I don't I think you should do a different shit post instead of just focusing on the
29:33 15th roster spot.
29:34 Do I don't know what you title it because I was going to say boss investigation, but
29:38 that's a different series entirely.
29:39 Just do like random bullshit.
29:42 I want to see the Celtics do since the games don't matter anymore.
29:45 Like Joe play do fucking bring a charity event fan gets a free play in the game every every
29:51 time they get to play him in the fourth quarter.
29:53 Post the picture.
29:54 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
29:55 I'm serious.
29:56 I think that'd be a fire post.
29:59 I think just no, I think so, too.
30:01 I just got mad about it.
30:02 I'll have time tomorrow to do something.
30:04 I want to.
30:05 I want to try to think I'm trying to think of more stuff that we've talked about on the
30:08 show that would play for that.
30:11 I just think Joe, like playing for the team would be kind of fun.
30:14 Like I think you could.
30:17 I think I think they should start all the fucking big guys start Tillman, Mimi, Al, Luke and
30:25 Chris stops for a game.
30:26 Fuck them.
30:27 Do it against the Wizards because I don't have a center.
30:29 So yeah, sorry, guys.
30:30 You know, do it against the Hornets.
30:33 So Grant is just in the middle of fucking five seven footers trying to fight for his
30:38 life.
30:39 You know, they need to do they need to suit up Mike Gorman, sign him to the 15th spot,
30:45 try him out.
30:46 Now, Mike Gorman could legitimately like suffer some serious injuries if he gets like hit
30:51 in the chest by the wrong guy.
30:52 What about scale?
30:53 So it's you could probably put scale out there.
30:57 My mom said they should just put Pierce on the end of the bench.
31:00 And I was like, yeah, like you could do that.
31:02 You could hit it.
31:04 Why not?
31:05 I mean, need a different size uniform.
31:07 Now you could do it.
31:09 Just rotate 10 day contracts for Phil Pressey, Emil Jefferson and the player coaches.
31:13 Yeah, I mean, you could do that too.
31:18 They literally how many games Tyler Lashbrook, Ross McMain's all these guys, Buck Buck was
31:25 a beast.
31:26 I mean, I'm trying to I'm Jermaine Buckner.
31:27 I found like a three V3 taping motherfuckers draining threes over guys.
31:31 I think anybody that's on a coaching staff has some good background.
31:35 Yeah, I have tips.
31:38 So we go to six games left this season.
31:42 Six things to sell six shit things to sell, but to do in the last six games, something
31:47 like that.
31:48 Yeah.
31:49 Anyway, so that can be it for us.
31:51 I want to see before the end of the season.
31:53 Yeah.
31:54 These games are useless here.
31:55 Here's what we need.
31:56 Anyways, sorry, it wasn't a full pod, guys.
31:57 We're going to get out of here.
31:58 I got to catch a train.
32:01 It's late.
32:02 I'm dead exhausted.
32:03 I was falling asleep during the game.
32:04 I don't know how much of me lagging out.
32:06 I'm going to edit out versus let you guys enjoy my pain because I feel like that'd be
32:09 funny depending on how much you guys actually heard and how much dead air there is.
32:13 But we appreciate you all for tuning in.
32:16 Let us know your thoughts on the game.
32:17 Let us know what you want to see for the end of the season.

33:01 Also, though, I will say shout out Joe, who's a fan of the pregame show, made it on the
33:07 Jumbo Tron at TD Garden.
33:09 Beast.
33:10 That's my cousin Joe, Uncle Danny, pregame show legend.
33:13 I waved to them from the ninth floor, too.
