00:00 Well, he may not have conquered Eternia, but his plans are now set for Primus.
00:04 Here's a look at the Mattel Master Universe Masterverse, the new adventures of He-Man,
00:13 Skeletor.
00:26 Skeletor was alerted to the arrival of the Galactic Guardians, Captain Hydran and Lieutenant
00:29 Flipshot in the past via his henchman Andros, who captured and brought them to Snake Mountain.
00:33 Learning of the plight of Primus, Skeletor immediately schemed to take advantage of their
00:37 peaceful nature and advanced technology, and tricked Hydran and Flipshot into believing
00:40 he was forceful good they had traveled back to the past to find.
00:44 While Skeletor was traveling to the planet of Primus, this guy unfortunately had to travel
00:47 to the planet of eBay in order to get this guy for myself.
00:51 Had hoped good case scenario would have been able to find this guy in retail.
00:54 Worst case scenario was unfortunately had to go to eBay because there was no other online
00:58 site that seemed to sell him.
01:00 And I paid a little bit more for him.
01:01 We'll talk more about that in a moment.
01:02 First though, Skeletor actually already has his helmet on.
01:05 It is something technically you could remove for the figure, but I always like to keep
01:08 it on the figure because I just think it looks that much cooler.
01:10 With that in mind, the figure is actually about seven and a quarter inches in height,
01:14 where New Adventures Skeletor is 18 centimeters tall.
01:19 We don't really have much in the way of New Adventures He-Man figures.
01:22 The only one other than He-Man, which I haven't yet picked up, is the New Adventures Slush
01:25 Head, which of course will go nicely with Skeletor.
01:28 His only minion he's actually gotten in the toy line so far.
01:31 I'm holding out hope for an optic.
01:33 Let's bring in a couple of other Skeletor figures for comparisons.
01:36 Here's what he looks like with the Skeletek from Massive Universe Revolution.
01:40 And here's also what the figure looks like with the New Eternia Skeletor, the Barbarian
01:43 Skeletor.
01:44 I just reverted him back more so to his classic look.
01:47 And because again, I don't have a New Adventures of He-Man just yet, that's going to be changing
01:50 hopefully soon.
01:51 I'm going to bring in the New Eternia Battle Armor He-Man, which actually in his review,
01:55 I did say he was the same mold that they actually used for the Revelation He-Man.
01:59 That's not really the case.
02:00 They actually have given him a brand new buck, something that's also going to come included
02:03 with the new released Thunder Punch He-Man as well.
02:07 Sharing a quick story about being a Canadian collector and trying to track down MOTU figures.
02:11 I already mentioned I did buy this guy over on eBay, but I didn't tell you the price that
02:14 I paid for him.
02:16 He was listed at least in the auction as $27 US, which you're probably thinking to yourself,
02:21 $27, that's not bad at all for a figure.
02:23 Once it's converted to Canadian, and then of course you add the fun shipping charges
02:27 and all the brokerage fees that goes along with it.
02:29 Anybody want to take a guess as to how much I paid for New Adventures Skeletor?
02:32 Anybody?
02:34 Somebody has already said $60.
02:35 No, no, afraid not.
02:37 It was a little bit more than 60.
02:39 When it was all said and done, when I was all finally into picking up Skeletor, I had
02:43 already acquired the figure for $91.
02:46 That's again, once the conversion is in place and all the fun stuff got tacked on top of
02:51 it.
02:52 Yeah, getting this guy was a little bit more expensive.
02:54 But I will say though, even though he is an older figure and I'm sure there's been tons
02:57 of reviews already online for Skeletor, I'm glad to finally say I have him in my collection.
03:02 There's something about New Adventures Skeletor, even just New Adventures He-Man, the series,
03:06 it's a really off-putting, I mean, especially if you're a big fan of the original MOTU series
03:10 by Phil Mason, to then watch the New Adventures of He-Man, it's almost like trying to eat
03:14 a bitter lemon.
03:16 It's nothing like the original series.
03:17 And yet there's a charm to it, especially with Skeletor.
03:20 This Skeletor was also released in the original, obviously, New Adventures of He-Man toy line.
03:25 And he also bears somewhat of a slight resemblance to Laser Light Skeletor, part of the original
03:31 classic line.
03:32 The figure for accessories, other than the helmet that I'm going to be removing shortly,
03:36 does come in clue with a pair of closed fists.
03:39 The fists aren't going to serve much at all purpose for me.
03:41 Likely, I'm just going to be having the figure displayed with his gripping hands that he
03:44 has on the ends of his forearms anyways, just because it's a lot easier for him to hold
03:47 the staff, not only just the one hand, but also you can have him wielding it in both
03:50 hands.
03:51 Speaking of the staff, the staff is very much similar to the one we got from the original
03:55 MOTU or the original New Adventures of He-Man Skeletor.
03:57 Obviously, it's just a little bit bigger here.
04:00 It's molded really nicely here in a dark gray plastic.
04:02 You can see the way they've done the skull motif here.
04:04 A skull and crossbones, which sort of has almost on the end of it, like a cattle prod
04:08 or shocking prod on the end of it.
04:11 Really neat, really neat looking staff.
04:13 It's quite long too.
04:14 I mean, if you look at it next to Skeletor's body, it goes right past the point.
04:17 It's a little bit taller, a little bit taller than his head sculpt here.
04:19 And of course it does fit into either one of his hands, or again, if you wanted to,
04:23 you can have it fit in both of his hands.
04:25 It's just again, getting in between.
04:26 There we go.
04:27 And then again, you can just bring his other arm around.
04:30 I mean, for me, at least you guys can let me know down below in the comment section.
04:33 Am I crazy?
04:34 Generally, when it comes to figures that have gripping hands, especially if they have more
04:36 than one accessory, I never display the figure with the closed fist.
04:40 It just doesn't make any sense to me.
04:41 Why would I do that?
04:42 I know ultimately though, if I ever decide I want to display the figure with two accessories,
04:45 or if I want to have him dual wielding any accessories like I've got right now for Skeletor,
04:49 it just makes more sense for me, at least, to have the figure always with gripping hands.
04:52 I don't know why.
04:53 I can't get him to stand properly.
04:55 Let's take his staff though right now and just move it off to the side.
04:58 The figure also comes included not only with his helmet, but also his cape.
05:02 The cape is about the only thing I really don't like about the figure.
05:04 The way they attach it, they only attach it by a very thin plastic ring.
05:09 I was thinking I was being careful.
05:10 I'd removed what I thought was the only bit of tape that was attaching the cape to
05:14 the inside of the plastic tray.
05:15 And when I went to pull Skeletor out, realized later that there was a little bit of tape
05:19 still stuck on the other corner, and I almost yanked the cape off.
05:24 Luckily that wasn't the case, but you can see like just how very, it's a lot, I don't
05:28 want to say hanging on by a thread, but you can see like how little of that actual fabric
05:32 is wrapped around the circular ring here that goes then around Skeletor's head.
05:37 Of course I've moved his helmet here.
05:39 The helmet is also something that can be detached.
05:42 One of those things actually is packaged separately with the figure.
05:45 That when you get Skeletor first initially out of the packaging, this is basically what
05:48 he's going to look like.
05:49 It's a really neat looking figure.
05:51 I love the look of Skeletor.
05:52 Now in the New Adventures He-Man series, Skeletor would have had big googly, almost cartoon
05:57 eyes, which again may have had something to do with why he was so jarring for fans of
06:01 the original Filmation series.
06:03 Something again about Skeletor.
06:04 I hope that this guy is not the only time we're going to be getting a new adventure
06:07 Skeletor that maybe down the road Mattel may also release the one that has the skull motif
06:11 on his chest.
06:12 And sort of that thing that looks like the top of a castle for his helmet.
06:16 Love the look of that Skeletor also as well.
06:18 But I think like the original look looks a lot cooler for me.
06:21 The colors of the red work really well for the blue and again like the head sculpt is
06:24 fantastic.
06:26 Doesn't open or anything else.
06:27 I mean I don't expect the mouth to necessarily open, but like the color choices that they
06:31 chose here.
06:32 Starts sort of at the back with blue, transitions nicely to almost like a very moldy looking
06:36 green like Beetlejuice and then on the front of course he's got his very cool Skeletor
06:39 face with the eyes inside painted nicely in red.
06:43 I don't plan to ever have the figure displayed without his helmet.
06:46 The thing about the helmet though is not only is it wide, but it's not very soft plastic
06:50 at all.
06:51 I fear, this is one of my problems with this figure, is that putting the helmet on, and
06:54 this is only going to happen probably only just the course of this review, and the helmet
06:58 is going to always be permanently staying on top of his head.
07:00 Just because I think the amount of times if you are one that likes to take this off, put
07:03 it back on, why would you even want to do that in the first place?
07:06 I would think it would eventually scrape away some of the plastic or the paint on the sides
07:10 of his head.
07:11 For me again, at least, I think of Skeletor, especially New Adventures, with the helmet
07:14 intact.
07:15 And I gotta say, again, the helmet looks really neat to him.
07:18 He's got some nice decorative detail there on the front of it.
07:21 Sort of fans out on the sides, sort of like, I don't know, like cup sleeves, a cupped
07:25 wizard's sleeve on either side.
07:27 It's nicely done here in a dark gunmetal gray.
07:29 I got a little bit of smudge on the back.
07:31 I don't know if it's actually paint.
07:33 If it is paint, it's not going to bother me all that much.
07:36 It's probably just a little bit of what's left behind of what they've brushed on to
07:39 the top and the sides of his helmet.
07:40 Again, I'm never going to see it from the back, nor am I ever really going to remove
07:43 the helmet.
07:44 The only time you've seen it just now is probably the only time it's ever going to be taken
07:48 off the figure's body.
07:50 For the rest of his body though, it's more to Skeletor, but again, looking at it really
07:54 closely though, he's got all this really cool circuitry, augmentation that he's added to
07:58 his body here.
07:59 It looks really interesting.
08:00 He's got it on his elbows, he's got it on the sides of his arms as well.
08:04 Kind of reminds me in a way like Roboto.
08:06 By the way, this chest piece is a softer plastic.
08:09 I think in some of the online descriptions of this guy, it says removable armor.
08:12 I don't really know what exactly would be removable on him.
08:15 I mean, this is attached clearly from the top of his torso, other than just being soft
08:19 and looser at the bottom where obviously that's there just for the articulation.
08:22 There's nothing really that is removable on the figure.
08:24 I mean, you can't remove his arms.
08:26 Maybe if anything, you could remove his helmet and his cape, but that's about it.
08:30 But detailing on this guy though, again, you've got some nice silver down below here.
08:33 The red that they've used here isn't quite the same red that they use for his torso,
08:37 but it doesn't bother me because the nice little breakup of color, it's not just looking
08:40 like one torso piece carries on all the way down to the bottom.
08:42 I did say earlier that this guy looks a little bit like Laser Light Skeletor for me.
08:46 The only thing I would really say is like the top of his torso, I mean, in Laser Light
08:50 Skeletor's case would have been all gold, and then down below here, instead of the blue
08:53 boots, they would have kind of been more gold boots.
08:55 I'm sure that if Mattel wanted to down the road, they probably could retool this guy.
08:59 They'd have to retool.
09:00 I mean, it's not just a simple carbon copy carryover from New Adventures over, or I guess
09:04 the other way around, Laser Light Skeletor over New Adventures, but I'm sure they probably
09:08 could tool a little bit of this and release this guy eventually as Laser Light Skeletor.
09:12 Again, down below, you've got again some nice detailing there on the sides of his legs.
09:16 I love the look of his big clunky boots.
09:18 He sort of has still the monster feet that Skeletor would have had in the original vintage
09:22 series, but then again, like he's got, you know, again, he's got little spikes on the
09:25 side that kind of again look like more just again, a futuristic looking Skeletor.
09:29 For the figure's articulation, starting first with his head sculpt, it's going to be on
09:32 a ball joint, so not only does it rotate all the way around, but it does look down, it
09:36 does look up, and it does rock back and forth as well.
09:39 Get that cape out of the way.
09:40 Upper torso is going to be on a ball joint because again, like this is a separate piece
09:43 from the lower abdomen area.
09:44 It makes things quite easy to move actually his body up and down, and again, rocking back
09:48 and forth.
09:49 I did notice like his head is a little on the looser side.
09:51 Might have also something to do with the fact that his helmet is a little loose too.
09:54 Between the two, I feel like this could be probably just a little bit tighter.
09:58 Arms do come out at 90 degrees, no problems there.
10:00 You can take the arms, rotate them all the way around, all the way around.
10:03 I did notice that this arm was a little on the tighter side, getting him out of the packaging.
10:06 No harm, no foul.
10:07 You can swivel though at the bicep, double hinge on the elbow, and it helps you rotate
10:10 all the way around.
10:12 Skeletor's lower legs do split out.
10:14 They're on ball joints.
10:15 He has three quarters of the way up the thigh, a swivel cut that rotates all the way around.
10:19 Double hinge on the knee, even though I really only showed you the single hinge, there's
10:22 a secondary hinge right there.
10:24 He has a swivel basically where the part of the boot is attached to the lower end of the
10:27 calf.
10:28 Then he also has the ankle pivot back and forth and an ankle rocker as well.
10:31 Eventually, I would like to get my hands on new adventures of He-Man.
10:34 He-Man, I don't know what the prices of him going for.
10:38 He probably is going to be a little bit cheaper than Skeletor.
10:40 Funny enough though, I think even though he's probably not, I don't think I've seen him
10:44 recently in stores, he was one of those figures along with some of the Revelation figures
10:48 that just sat warming pegs.
10:50 I had just keep continuing to pass by him.
10:52 I thought, "No, I'm going to wait it out.
10:53 I'm going to wait.
10:54 I'm going to get Skeletor.
10:55 Skeletor is really the one I want to get first.
10:56 Then I'll probably go back to He-Man."
10:58 Funny enough though, ironically enough, I think He-Man is now off the shelves.
11:02 Hoping that I'm not going to have to pay the crazy price that I ended up paying for Skeletor
11:04 here.
11:05 Again, $91.
11:06 You may say, "That's impossible.
11:08 How could you have started with an auction listing on eBay for $27 and then that jumped
11:12 all the way to $91?"
11:13 Well again, $27, I think shipping probably was like $35 or even, it was more than actually
11:18 what the figure was selling for.
11:19 Then once that was converted, once the brokerage was ... Basically, any Canadian collector
11:23 can let you know down below in the comment section.
11:25 If you're a Canadian collector, let me know some of your frustrations when it comes to
11:29 picking up figures online.
11:31 You may think you're going in picking up something for a deal.
11:33 It never is a deal.
11:34 You always end up paying through the roof when it comes to getting these figures.
11:37 For the $91 that I dropped for him, I think it was well worth it.
11:42 I know $91 is a lot.
11:43 It's a pretty steep bill to pay for a Master Universe figure.
11:47 But still though, looking the look of Skeletor, again, I had always really hoped that Skeletor
11:51 would eventually show up at my local Toys R Us stores or Walmarts.
11:55 Nothing.
11:56 Even Canadian online sites where I normally would pick up my Moto figures, having to then
11:59 avoid having to go even on eBay in the first place, none of them, none of them stocked
12:04 at Edouard.
12:05 I kept looking online, Master Universe, New Adventures, Skeletor, and nothing was listed
12:09 locally.
12:10 Eventually I had to pull the trigger.
12:11 I went over eBay.
12:12 Again, I thought I probably paid the cheapest price for him.
12:15 I didn't end up really paying the cheapest price for him when everything was all said
12:17 and done.
12:18 But Skeletor is a nice looking figure.
12:20 Little late to the game, this guy is getting a review out of him, but he does certainly
12:23 look good with the slush head, with the slush head we just recently had a look at.
12:27 Well, I don't want to say recently, a little bit while ago.
12:30 But again, I was really late with looking at slush head.
12:32 I'm even more later looking at New Eternia, while Master Universe, Masterverse, New Adventures,
12:37 Skeletor.
12:38 But again, for me at least, even if the review is a little bit late, it was well worth the
12:42 wait to finally have this guy as part of my collection.
12:44 I do hope that Mattel is as interested in the idea of creating new Adventures of He-Man
12:46 figures as I am to collect them.
12:48 Although I know I sound like a hypocrite to say that because only picking up Skeletor
12:51 and slush head, and not actually picking up New Adventures of He-Man, in my defense if
12:56 I can, going back to my Toys R Us stores, even as far back as last year, they had like
13:01 20 of those things sitting on a shelf.
13:02 And I kept saying to myself, I know it's still going to be there the next time I come back
13:06 to the store.
13:07 And sure enough, I went back and they still had those New Adventures of He-Man figures.
13:10 Now the time has actually come where I've picked up a Skeletor.
13:13 Have I had an interest now to get He-Man?
13:14 Yes.
13:15 Are the stores still stocking the figure?
13:17 No.
13:18 I'm sure I'm probably not going to be paying the prices to get He-Man as I had to pay the
13:23 prices to get Skeletor.
13:24 You want to talk about stupid money, by the way.
13:26 So I'm so interested to get an Optic that I even considered the idea of getting a Matty
13:30 Collector Master Universe Classics version of Optic, which if anybody knows collecting
13:34 those Matty Collector MOTU figures, they know that they go for crazy stupid money.
13:38 I think even Optic goes online right now for $150 US.
13:42 That's $150 US.
13:43 I'm not even going to bother to convert that.
13:45 I ain't paying that kind of price for Optic.
13:47 I can only hope again, like Mattel eventually does release an Optic that can add this one
13:51 along with Slush Hat and Skeletor.
13:53 Skeletor looks nice.
13:54 He's a good looking figure.
13:55 Even if I paid the prices that I paid for him, I don't want to say he was well worth
13:58 the price because nobody should have to pay almost $100 for a figure that's only really
14:02 like a year old.
14:03 If this figure, like if we're talking like the original stuff that would have been around
14:06 in the 80s and 90s, paying the $100, you could probably at least justify that it's a "vintage"
14:11 figure.
14:12 But there's nothing really vintage about this figure.
14:14 It's just the fact he was never distributed here in Canada.
14:16 Local stores didn't have it.
14:18 Online stores, at least in the Canadian area, never had it either.
14:22 So eventually I had to order this guy over on eBay.
14:24 And again, we all know the story that went along with it.
14:26 I think he was still worth it, putting him finally on the shelf along with Slush Hat.
14:30 He's one of my favorite looking Skeletors we've gotten from the Masterverse line.
14:33 And again, there's something charming again about the Master Universe, the new adventures
14:36 of He-Man.
14:37 I think I binge watched most of the seasons.
14:39 I think there's only what, two seasons?
14:41 I had them actually on DVD, those box, remember those big thick book box sets that we had
14:45 of those, the original Master Universe from Filmation and then the new adventures?
14:48 Just binge watched all of it.
14:50 From the time the Skeletor looked like this to the time he had that big giant skull on
14:53 his chest and sort of that, I don't know, kind of looking like a castle helmet that
14:57 he had on top of his head.
14:58 Man, I hope we really get that one as well.
15:00 But again, like the longevity of whether we actually get any more future new Adventures
15:03 of He-Man figures is only up to Mattel.
15:05 I mean, people like me, the very limited few, the demographic that are actually even interested
15:10 in new Adventures of He-Man.
15:11 I hope that again, enough of us are collecting these figures to justify more future new Adventures.
15:16 What do you guys think of them?
15:17 Let me know down below in the comment section.
15:19 Did you guys also like the new Adventures of He-Man?
15:21 I know again, nothing to do at all with the Filmation.
15:24 Battle Cat wasn't even in it.
15:26 Any of the characters really other than just He-Man and Skeletor were really the only ones
15:29 that actually came over to Primus.
15:31 But still there was something charming about Skeletor.
15:33 He looked again, extremely cartoony, especially he had the big googly eyes.
15:37 But there's something very charming about that Skeletor.
15:39 Do you guys disagree with me?
15:41 You likely will.
15:42 Let me know down below in the comment section.
15:44 Also, hey, as well, if you guys did like this video, I want to hit it with a like.
15:47 If you guys are loving the content you guys are seeing and you'd like to stick around
15:50 for more Motu reviews, we will have a couple more actually coming your way.
15:53 So make sure you come back here on a regular basis.

15:58 Those are all crucial things to ensure that you're going to get those notifications every
16:00 single time new content is popping up.
16:04 Crazy stupid money.
16:05 I can't believe I paid $91 for this guy.
16:06 As always, thanks for watching.
16:08 See you guys next time.
