00:00 What if I told you, you can get a 400cc motorcycle under 2 lakhs.
00:10 Now Bajaj has just launched the NS 400Z.
00:15 This motorcycle comes at an ex-showroom price of Rs. 1,85,000.
00:19 That's just the introductory price though.
00:21 And let's see what all we get on the new 400cc from Bajaj and the biggest Pulsar yet.
00:28 So now starting off with the features and the powertrain on the motorcycle.
00:33 So the new features that we get on this is it gets 4 ride modes and 4 ABS modes and it
00:38 gets switchable traction control.
00:39 So now the 4 ride modes that we get on this is road, rain, off-road and sport.
00:45 Now with off-road and your sport mode, you can switch your traction control off on the
00:49 motorcycle to enhance that extra appeal that you want.
00:52 Now apart from that, something new that we see on this are the 43mm champagne gold front
00:58 QSD fork and we also get 320mm discs in the front and 230mm discs in the rear.
01:03 Now the braking system on the new NS 400 is dual channel ABS.
01:08 Now the ABS isn't switchable, however, it is calibrated depending on your riding modes.
01:13 Now as I said, you have 4 ABS modes, right?
01:16 So in your off-road mode, that's when your ABS is going to be the least intrusive, however,
01:21 your rear wheel won't lock up.
01:23 It'll, the ABS will still play its role.
01:26 Now apart from that, the powertrain that we get on the NS 400 is a 373cc liquid-cooled
01:31 engine that produces around 39.5bhp and 35nm of torque.
01:37 Now this is similarly seen on the Dominar 400 from Bajaj.
01:41 So now sitting atop the motorcycle, let's also listen to the exhaust note that we get
01:45 on the new Pulsar.
01:54 So that was the exhaust note of this, let us know what you think of it down in the comment
01:58 section below.
01:59 Also the exhaust on the Pulsar, as you see, is not extending out back, it's nowhere to
02:03 be seen, where's the exhaust?
02:05 Well, it's an underbelly exhaust that we get on the new NS 400.
02:09 Apart from that, we get a full LCD coloured display, on top of that, we get a charging
02:13 port located right underneath the display.
02:16 Now to control the display, the switch gear is very easy to use, nothing is complicated
02:21 at all and everything is right where you need it to be and right what you want to see.
02:26 Now coming to the design aspects on the new NS 400, at the front, we get these very, very,
02:31 very aggressively styled front headlights with a lightning bolt sort of finish.
02:35 Now as I said, 320mm discs in the front, 43mm champagne gold USB forks.
02:40 Now coming to the design of the tank, as you can see, it's a very, very aggressively styled
02:45 tank, the angular cuts that we see here, just bring out the whole sportiest appeal, bring
02:49 out that whole angry aesthetic of the Pulsar.
02:53 Now the shrouds that we get, we have the NS badging located on the side and this is the
02:58 purer grey colour scheme and it is beautiful, in my opinion.
03:03 Now apart from that, we get these sort of forged air vents over here, yeah, so we get
03:06 forged air vents here, we get forged air vents here and as standard, we get a tank protector
03:11 right here.
03:12 So we get split style seats on this and very, very soft seats and very cushioned seats.
03:18 We get the NS 400Z badging located on the side and just behind that, we have grab rails.
03:24 Now coming to the rear design of this, we get the standard brake lights that we see
03:29 on the other models of the Pulsar, we get this extended tail tidy, tyre hugger at the
03:34 rear, 230mm discs and a single monoshock at the rear.
03:37 So now coming to the tyre size on the new NS 400, at the front, we get a 110 section
03:42 tyre and at the rear, we get a 140 section tyre.
03:45 Now this has not been seen on the other Pulsars and it has just been brought in for the NS
03:50 400Z.
03:51 Now you might be wondering why it's a 140 section in the rear and not a 150 being a
03:55 400cc.
03:56 Well, as most of you know, or as all of you know, the Pulsar is a budget-friendly bike,
04:02 it's an affordable bike.
04:03 So getting a 140 section tyre gives you that extra mileage that you need and cuts down
04:08 the cost of your tyre, all in all bringing down the whole running cost and the production
04:12 cost of the new NS 400Z.
04:15 So now let's talk about how it is to seat and what the seating position is like on this
04:19 motorcycle.
04:20 Sitting atop the bike, as you can see, again, I'm not in an aggressive position, I'm not
04:26 in a laid-back position, I'm actually very, very comfortable on the motorcycle, it is
04:32 sort of perfect for me, I'm 6'1", the handlebars are placed just where I want them to be placed.
04:37 Something I forgot to mention is we get a 5-step adjustable brake lever and clutch lever.
04:41 In terms of seating, it's brilliant, seat comfort is wonderful, rider's triangle, as
04:46 you can see, isn't aggressive, isn't laid-back, it is just how a city bike should be.
04:53 So that was the seating position on the motorcycle, so all in all, that was the new Bajaj Pulsar
04:59 NS 400Z.
05:00 Let us know what you think of this motorcycle in the comments section below and let us know
05:04 whether you would opt for this.
