00:02 Right everyone welcome back into another live edition of the Patriots beat podcast here on the CLNS media network
00:10 I am Brian Hines back with Alex Barth as
00:12 Always for again another live Pat's beat sponsored by our wonderful friends over at prize picks and the game time app
00:19 It was a fantastic sports weekend this last few days. We had some awesome hockey action NBA
00:26 The Derby and f1 race we had the Brady roast which we will get to earlier or later on in the show today
00:32 So you can get involved in the action over on prize picks or go to the action with the game time app both
00:38 Code CLNS
00:40 But we will hear from a little a little bit of them later on in the show because we have
00:45 Some Patriots news to talk about as well. Oh, yeah today again. We'll get to the Brady roast. That was an awesome show last night
00:53 so
00:54 Talk about some of the highlights from that
00:56 But some news today from the New England Patriots and with the draft in the rearview mirror
01:01 We are opening up kind of a front office search here and this was expected Robert Kraft mentioned it
01:07 At the owners meetings in March. I believe those were that they're going to kind of you know, look outside
01:13 Maybe bring in another person to this front office to either run it or we'll see how this shakes out
01:20 So they have sounds like they've reached out to some candidates and they'll be hosting some interviews now if they want to
01:26 Promote Elliot Wolfe to the GM and give him that GM title
01:30 They do have to you know have this outside search in the first place to
01:33 You know, do you have to qualify the Rooney rule and you have to do this process?
01:37 So Elliot Wolfe is certainly a candidate. I would be surprised if he's not the frontrunner
01:42 Candidate but they are having this kind of open open search here in the front office
01:48 Yeah, so in Jonathan Jones from CBS who broke this earlier today pointed out that the Patriots can't even if they just want to promote
01:56 Elliot Wolfe and be done with it. They can't because the Rooney rule right they got around to which rod Mayo
02:01 But there was something specific in his contract. You know, it's a rare clause
02:06 It's not a surprise to find out that's not an Elliot Wolfe's contract. So
02:09 as to why they didn't do it sooner, maybe they just wanted to get on with the
02:15 Roster building part of the offseason didn't want to blow two weeks, you know interviewing candidates, but
02:20 If they want to you know elevate him, this is the step I
02:24 expect him to get the job I would be very surprised and
02:28 kind of annoyed if
02:30 Elliot well and maybe he doesn't end up GM like it's probably gonna be some other title because that's just how they do things but
02:36 We've talked about this right final say who has final say that's what's ultimately important. So VP of player personnel
02:43 Director of football operations, whatever you want to call it
02:46 You just let him run an entire offseason that included rebuilding the offensive coaching staff
02:53 Handing out some big contracts to guys like Mike going when you Christian bar more in
02:58 Cods, I'm not saying those are bad contracts, but those are significant investments
03:02 And then deciding who do you know which quarterback take with the third overall pick? That's he set the foundation
03:09 He set the direction
03:12 So to then move on from him
03:15 Who's to say the next GM?
03:17 Likes Drake may who's to say the next GM wants to keep Mike when when to attack
03:22 Who's say the next GM is going to continue with the plan that allows you know
03:26 Kyle Duggar and Christian bar more to play the way they've been playing. I feel like you have to stick with him the
03:31 thing I I do wonder is
03:34 Maybe if like you said there's another addition to the front office on top of this. So
03:42 Scout scouting front office people their contracts usually don't run
03:47 through like
03:50 The new league year right the player contracts do they usually run through the beginning of May? It's usually right draft to draft. So
03:58 There are probably some people whose contracts were up who are gonna be out
04:03 You know
04:04 I think Matt grows been speculated his contracts been up and you keep him around because he did all the scouting he put all the
04:10 Work in to this class. You can't start from scratch
04:13 When Elliot Wolfe takes over in January
04:15 But I I do wonder if maybe there's some lower changes. The other thing is do we get and Brian?
04:23 This is something we've talked about
04:25 that
04:26 if Elliot Wolfe's gonna be the GM that director of football operations role a team president kind of thing the
04:34 Jim Neely Don Sweeney set up and
04:37 Maybe they're interviewing people essentially for that job where Elliot Wolfe's gonna get the official promotion
04:43 But then there's gonna be some directional head over Wolfe and Mayo
04:47 That has more experience doing this and it's kind of like a veteran voice
04:51 so
04:54 Yeah, it'll
04:56 There's a couple things that could come from this but I'd be very surprised if Elliot Wolfe doesn't end up
05:01 The whatever the the general manager equivalent. Yeah. Yeah, I think
05:07 You know, you said you put him in charge for all this and I think we could both agree
05:13 I think it was a good even if this was a trial run
05:16 I think he kind of nailed it right like we love right and we liked a lot of their moves and what he did so
05:20 I would be comfortable, you know keeping him in charge
05:24 I think the craft should be comfortable keeping him in charge based off what he's shown you he can do the last two three months
05:29 And yeah, you know, they've never had that official GM title
05:32 so whether it's director of player personnel or maybe like Scott Scott Piolli was the vice president of
05:37 Player personnel. I think that was his role. So one of those that signals your you're in charge
05:43 I think that's where this is probably headed. But that's still the big question. Is it gonna be?
05:47 someone to come in to run this thing or it may be a compliment for Elliot Wolfe and
05:52 They did kind of already bring in Alonzo Highsmith, which you figured could be that compliment
05:58 To Elliot Wolfe, but maybe with you know, Mac Rowe, maybe he's out with his contract seems set to expire here
06:04 Maybe they want just more pieces or maybe they do want kind of that big ticket that you know
06:09 can't cam Neely to the Don Sweeney or
06:11 The John Lynch to you know, the Kyle Shanahan, you know, just another guy to kind of oversee this whole thing
06:19 So that's that's my big thing
06:20 Like is it gonna be a compliment to Wolfe or is it gonna be one big guy and I would lean I think if they
06:25 Do hire someone I think it's gonna be just a compliment to Wolfe and he's still gonna have final say because he deserves it based
06:30 Off the last, you know three months of work that he's done to this team with all the resources that they gave him
06:35 Yeah
06:38 Absolutely. I agree with that
06:40 but um
06:41 Let's say they do go maybe the opposite route
06:44 Is there any names you're looking at like I know we talked a lot of these when when Bill first left and you know
06:49 Adam Peters was a guy he went to Washington
06:53 I'm blanking on the guy from the Chiefs. He was someone who might have showed some interest in the job even earlier
06:58 Trey Brown from Cincinnati
07:01 He works in the Bengals front office with another name like any names that maybe if you are looking to come in and run this
07:07 Thing that that's kind of on your radar there for that personnel department
07:10 I
07:13 Still go back to Mike for able as that kind of head of football ops job where he's been head coach
07:19 You know, he hasn't been a GM, but he's essentially had his own organization that kind of thing
07:23 And just being a resource for Mayo and Wolfe. I think would be very valuable
07:28 That's the guy I keep going back to maybe it's a one-year thing. You know, he wants to get back in coaching
07:32 That works. He's with Cleveland now. Oh, is he I forgot about that
07:36 Yeah
07:37 He took like that same exact job just with Cleveland which was unfortunate because that would have been great to have him here in
07:43 that that exact role but oh
07:45 Yeah coaching and personnel consultant. Yeah, so I
07:48 Don't know. I mean, I feel like everybody got hired. I feel like the cycle's done
07:52 I don't know. I'm not super familiar with it. Clearly not super familiar with everybody who's available. So it was
07:57 Mike Borgonzi, that was the Chiefs guy, but he's an assistant general manager with Kansas City. So
08:03 like is he gonna come here to be a
08:06 Whatever title you want to give him and then is he gonna expect to run this thing?
08:10 Trey Brown, I think had a you know, Cincinnati guy. I think he had a similar
08:15 Type of role there as well their type type of title and the bangles
08:19 So, I mean those guys are probably looking to come over and run their own team, right?
08:23 Like that's right. We would assume so you might have to find another kind of like Alonzo Highsmith or maybe there's another
08:28 Mike Frabel type, you know somewhere out there that that's willing to kind of play a complementary role to Wolf and the staff
08:35 That's there right now
08:37 Yeah, and I it's just at this point. This is why it's so weird to do this now again
08:42 maybe they did it just because they didn't want to
08:45 Have to go through it while they're trying to get set for the draft and all of that but
08:49 Everybody's hired. Everybody has jobs
08:52 This is why it's so tough to do it right now because I just don't think you're gonna find that many people
08:55 Willing to pick up and move and reset at this point in the football calendar. Yeah. Yeah, which is just another
09:02 Kind of reason I'd be shocked if this isn't just still Elliot Wolfe and with some new title to show that he has
09:10 You know, he's not director of scouting this shows some title that he has right?
09:14 I kind of final say and control
09:16 over this thing, but
09:18 Yeah, we will have a open front office search
09:20 It sounds like so we'll be keeping you up to date with anything that happens with that again
09:27 Though we would expect it to be Elliot Wolfe in some new title
09:30 There as well, but we also had a roster move this morning on the roster our quarterback room
09:36 That was five is now down to four as they waved Nathan Rourke
09:41 Think we all thought there would be some movement at some point there
09:45 I mean five and I would be a lot of quarterbacks to enter even training camp in with you know
09:50 Giving them all all reps, especially when you have two rookies and Drake May and Joe Milton
09:54 You're gonna want to get as much action there as possible. So for now Nathan Rourke is the
10:00 First one out and the room is down to four with those previous three and Bailey's at me. Yeah, not not surprising
10:07 You know, he was clearly the fifth man in that group for four camps about right
10:11 Could work find his way back if he doesn't get signed and be on the practice squad
10:15 I could see that but I think he's probably if another NFL team doesn't pick him up
10:18 I won't be surprised he goes back to Canada because he freaking
10:21 Dominated there and that may be better for him at this point than spending a full season on a team's practice squad not really playing
10:27 in games, so
10:29 Yeah, not a total surprise and now I think the question becomes zappy verse Joe Milton for the third quarterback spot
10:35 That's gonna be the battle
10:37 Throughout the spring throughout summer. I don't think they're gonna move on
10:40 If zappy is the odd man out. I don't think they're gonna move on from him till they have to because
10:45 You know you cut them and then in camp somebody's backup quarterback gets hurt. Suddenly. There's a market
10:50 so there's no rush to get zappy off the roster if he's the odd man out, but I
10:55 Don't know. I I think new group they targeted Milton. I
10:59 Still think zappy is the odd man out. Yeah. Yeah, I agree with you there. But um
11:05 Mike Reese I just pulled up in his notes. He did say he had a little note on Sunday about zappy
11:11 And he said his starting experience has value behind percent if may ultimately needs more time to develop behind the scenes
11:17 But could his presence somehow impede may space to develop important bonds and grow with new teammates
11:23 So could that be something that you're looking at like we know zappy has some connections with these guys
11:28 He's obviously played with them and then we saw him down in Texas
11:31 I believe you know working out with Kendrick Bourne - Mario Douglas Taekwon Thornton. Is that something where you could say like
11:36 We just might need to get him out as quick as possible
11:40 even though it might be beneficial for
11:42 Your resources draft wise if you maybe keep him in camp and you get a pick or maybe you do need him to start at
11:48 Some point early in the year, which obviously wouldn't be ideal
11:51 But could that be something that you look at and say, okay
11:53 We need to kind of just get him out of here from a locker in perspective. Yeah, that's fair
11:58 I I'd hope it doesn't come to that like, you know, they just drafted a guy third overall
12:03 I mean, come on exact he's got to know the writings on the wall. But yeah, if he's gonna be an issue
12:08 I mean we've talked about this don't make things harder on the quarterback than they need to be if he's gonna be an issue then
12:12 Yeah, you get rid of him. Yeah, and you hope the
12:15 Teammates and the receivers kind of can see that as well, right?
12:19 We don't need to be handing on to our you know
12:21 Bailey's happy right now where we have Drake may who you know
12:24 Drake may - seems like an easy guy to get along with and everyone. Yes. I'm sure that'll be just fine for the him
12:30 You know establishing connections and then developing relationships
12:33 with all those guys, so
12:36 front office news
12:38 Nathan Rourke out. I believe that was all the news from our last show. Correct, or was there anything else?
12:43 Since they signed Joey saw I think we were yes. We talked about that
12:50 Thursday I believe because it was sly and
12:54 The pass rusher from the Giants they signed
12:57 Yeah, and that got the roster to 90 so now Rourke is out rostered back to 89
13:02 So they have another spot here if they want to add someone
13:05 before OTAs, I saw someone asked in the chat rookie minicamp is
13:11 This weekend may 10th to the 12th. We will actually get one day of access on Saturday. I believe that's May 11th
13:20 Who knows what it's gonna look like. I was listening. I saw a clip from
13:24 Kelton the Kelsey's podcast and they were talking about rookie minicamp. They're like it's not even football just pure chaos out there
13:32 So we've never seen it. We'll love that. We'll see what it looks like out there. But um, yeah rookie minicamp
13:38 Yeah, here was when does rookie minicamp start that is May 10th to 12th
13:42 So the rookies will be back on the fields this weekend. We'll have coverage
13:48 Of anything that happens back there, but I don't know you have any big expectations for that this weekend. Um
13:53 Just watching Drake made Joe Milton throw it deep
13:56 Balls from both those guys. I'm good. Let's just see a laser show out there and that's
14:02 That's oh and the defensive tackle. That's a punter
14:05 true
14:07 That'll be see that guy. Can you hold is he gonna be holding for the kickers? There's two kickers. It's definitely something to watch
14:13 that would be that's exciting yeah, and the
14:18 The real there's a really skinny like offensive tackle - right Oh
14:21 Jerry Henry, yeah
14:24 Yeah, he's not really skinny. He's like 300 pounds, but he played last year at like 290
14:30 And then I think he was 306 at his pro days
14:33 Like he's he was but he's he's put on the weight since you know, it's seeing how he's a true swing tackle
14:39 So those guys are valuable
14:41 Maybe has a chance to make the team
14:43 The the weight thing is is worth noting because we'll see how he plays at that new weight
14:47 But that's not as fun as a defensive tackle that punch punch. You'll Milton throwing at 85 yards. Yeah
14:53 Yeah, so again, we'll see what what happens out there. We don't know probably is going to be pure chaos
15:00 But yeah, the big big news over and and was actually all today was that front office search and Nathan work is on the out
15:07 So QB room back to four, but let's take a very quick break
15:11 We will hear from our friends over at prize picks and then we can talk a little bit about that
15:16 Tom Brady roast on Netflix from yesterday

16:19 That's download the app today and use code CLNS for a first deposit match up to $100
16:25 So check it out price picks. It's the way to go pick more pick less. It's that easy
16:35 Longest throw at rookie mini camp quickly if we set the prize picks entry at
16:40 Assuming they don't just like get out there and have an arm talent contest
16:45 We'll set it but that's the thing. I'm not you say it's gonna be chaos. Like I'm not ruling that out
16:49 They might they might just do that. So
16:51 62 and a half more or less yards, so I'll give you this
16:58 It's supposed to rain on Saturday, which is the day. We'll be there. Of course. I
17:04 Naturally, I wonder if they practice inside
17:06 if they do
17:09 Does somebody hit the roof?
17:11 Someone hit the top of the bubble ever Joe Milton for his pro day went outside
17:16 Because he thought he was gonna hit the roof and Drake May was inside at his but boy did he come close a few times?
17:22 Yeah
17:24 That would be that would be fun
17:26 If one of them if Joe Milton hit the top of the bubble with you watching in attendance
17:33 I
17:34 Thought just me at that point. It's area. Everybody would be everyone
17:37 We would all be in the knowledge to be clear the whole Joe Milton thing leading up to the draft was
17:42 Because I my everybody knows this my approach to draft coverage is the more players, you know the better
17:48 So I'm gonna try to get people as filled in on as many players as possible
17:52 But there's some players that I think are more interesting than others that I want to make sure people know about
17:58 Joe Milton was a guy that I was like, hey, you guys should go watch him whether or not the Patriots draft him
18:06 It's fun tape. It's interesting tape
18:08 Now he's here. So mission accomplished. Everybody now knows who Joe Milton is
18:13 That was the point mission achieved and with a little assist for me from Elliot Wolfe because you guys don't have a choice now
18:19 Everybody's wrong. Oh, no, why is he going on about Joe Milton?
18:21 That's why now we're here
18:24 Now we're here and we're all gonna watch him in the preseason and hopefully it's fun. At least if anything
18:29 It might not be good, but at least it'll be
18:31 Fun, but yeah
18:34 That should be fun. Hopefully we get to see something something crazy there on Saturday between him and Drake may at Bradworthy minicamp, but
18:41 Let's talk about an old Patriots quarterback Tom Brady
18:44 Took the stage last night for a roast live on Netflix
18:48 I wasn't sure what to expect but it was kind of a good old-fashioned roast
18:54 I mean we had Giselle Gigi not kind of it was within like two minutes from Kevin Hart
18:59 We had Aaron Hernandez jokes
19:01 9/11 jokes Gronk got called stupid about a thousand different ways like it was a good old-fashioned roast
19:09 so that that was it was
19:11 It was very good television for Patriots fans
19:14 And I'd assume even non Patriots fans would have enjoyed that a lot last night
19:19 I was expecting it to be very corporate very close to the vest
19:23 I thought the one person I thought might let it rip was true blood so because all these guys save their
19:29 Podcasts and they have their TV gigs and they don't want to get in trouble or his bloods was just slinging wine like he and
19:34 He you know, that was real for me. He didn't a lot of them had people help them write their stuff
19:39 I don't think blood so had any help that was for me
19:42 That was from deep down for me
19:44 But it was I used to love the roast when I was like middle school and high school
19:47 Every year that was appointment viewing like I'd have a couple friends over, you know
19:51 We'd get together even if I didn't know who the person was
19:53 Usually it was like I really I knew I was aware of David Hasselhoff. I didn't know really anything about him
20:01 They're roasting in my red is Wikipedia page. All right now I'm caught up and I
20:04 95% of the jokes I got right so I used to love the roasts and that was an
20:10 A+ roast. I mean Brady aside obviously that adds another level to it, but
20:17 They brought it. They freaking brought it all. I don't know outside of Kim Kardashian
20:22 I don't know that there was one person who bombed like I know some people didn't love Affleck
20:27 I thought he did what he needed to do. Like he played his part, right?
20:30 I know some people didn't love Brett Kersher and
20:33 Tom Segura you have to be familiar with who they are as comedians. I think to understand that I
20:41 Thought that was great
20:44 Yeah, I I mean it was just it was I I didn't want it to end
20:48 I saw people complaining it was too long and I was like, no no, no like let keep going keep freaking going
20:53 And I mean the highlight for me, but well, there's so many highlights. I don't want to pick one like I
20:58 Anchorman is one of my favorite movies of all time like me in high school
21:04 I was obsessed with Anchorman so if and the Patriots that was like my friend texted me last night
21:10 He's like this is your whole personality when you were 17 on the stage
21:15 introducing Bill Belichick Ron Burgundy roasting Tom Brady and
21:19 Then because I we used to get together watch the roast - that was the thing and I've tried to like roast people
21:24 Ron Burgundy roasting Tom Brady then introducing Bill Belichick is like as on-brand as you could get for
21:31 Junior year of high school Alex Barth. I would have passed out back in the day. I was still great
21:36 It was still unbelievable. So that was awesome
21:40 Peyton was really good. I thought he'd he rose the occasion. I'm glad he was there
21:43 But it's I mean, it's really all about you know, the Patriots side of it bill
21:49 Brady
21:51 Bledsoe Edelman Gronk
21:53 Randy Moss is okay. That's just his personality. He's not that out there. I wish they'd let Matt light go. Yeah
22:01 But I love I love Bill getting up there and everyone was just talking like the pats in the front row because it's Edelman
22:09 It's Gronk
22:10 It's Tom obviously and then Bill gets up there and he goes like for five minutes on how Matt light needs to shut the f-up
22:18 And he's just roasting his offensive lineman
22:20 And then you knew he was just chomping at the bit to get to Danny Amendola
22:23 After what Danny said to him, but you know the dynasty doc and Bill's diet shot of the dynasty doc was awesome, too
22:30 So why did that feel like a more comprehensive view of the Patriots dynasty era than the dynasty did in the dynasty?
22:37 Documentary like I walked away from that feeling the way I wanted and I knew the dynasty wasn't gonna make me feel that way
22:43 I like I knew it wasn't but that's how I wanted it to make me feel that I wanted that last dance feeling and
22:48 I walked away from that like there was some weird sort of closure
22:54 Yeah, and I'm still trying to figure out you know, like 24 hours later
22:58 Why I felt like there was some I think was Brady Bill
23:02 Robert Edelman Gronk all being back together generally having a good time
23:06 I know Bill was a little cold for the toast, but
23:09 The other thing about it, too
23:12 They're really that was not that was Patriots Tom Brady all the highlights for Patriots
23:19 There was a separate Patriots deus
23:22 I know that Levante David and Ryan Jensen were up there
23:24 But they were off to the side with the comedians in the back didn't say anything
23:29 You weren't mentioned once or like brought up at all like even when Brady had a chance
23:35 To say, you know, oh, you know now that bills ticked me off. My favorite ring is the Bucs ring
23:41 That's what I thought he was going without that's what we all thought
23:43 He was gonna say which is what made that joke so good. But that was
23:49 That was whether it was intentional or not
23:52 That was a letter to Patriots fans. That was for
23:58 Patriots fans not just you know
24:02 Sure, the Brady fans who followed him to Tampa and you know got the jerseys and had the Buccaneers stickers on their car and all
24:09 That I'm sure they enjoyed it too. But no that was for the Patriots fans and I really
24:15 Really appreciate on so many levels. There was like nerd Patriot ever since the Nate Evner joke was amazing. I
24:23 20% of the people watching maybe got that but the people who did we really appreciated that like
24:31 That was really for the Patriots fans. And that was that's probably overall my favorite part. Yeah
24:38 yeah, it was awesome like the
24:40 Comedians were good even like I was expecting maybe some of the athletes just the bomb and even though like deliveries and they were pretty good
24:48 Like Jules was awesome taking the shot like it was great
24:52 I don't it was great getting back at bill with the Foxborough high like that's your only coaching job
24:58 Honk was just so grog just like yeah, like his own material
25:03 Was exactly what you would expect it to be just dick jokes
25:08 He just went up there and made dick somebody I think was mad military that's not like Gronk making dick jokes
25:13 It's like watching Monet paint with watercolors like an artist in his truest form
25:17 He just made dick jokes and called everyone in the front row gay for each other pretty much. Yeah
25:22 And then he spiked a shot glass hurt somebody in the front
25:28 Just so perfectly grog. So
25:30 That now that that was great watching all of them all of them go
25:34 The jokes weren't that funny he was so into it
25:39 Yeah, then it was like he has like everyone makes fun of him and then the flash to him. He's like, yeah
25:46 I don't know what's going on, but I'm just gonna laugh right now. Well the part where Nikki Glaser was like
25:51 Was like a Gronk Gronk on the crypto me know that not real money
25:55 And then I guess he turned to Kevin Hart was like, yeah, I said that
25:58 Yeah, that was in Kevin Kevin Hart was great host to like Kevin Hart was good
26:05 Yeah, the bit about when Brady was like I was begging them to get Chappelle the hostess though
26:10 Yeah, that was a good that you could tell that hit that that hit that caught Kevin Hart
26:16 Yeah, Kevin Hart telling Gronk to sound out the teleprompter
26:19 That was great
26:23 Yeah, that was yeah, it was it was three hours, but it was a it was a very good three hours
26:29 I don't know any other I could have got another three hours. I shout out so I didn't realize that they were like
26:34 Actually selling like the audience part of the forum like you could just get tickets or people I know who went last night
26:40 Just like had tickets and when Ron Burgundy tried to do the you know
26:44 Tom Brady's Eli Manning's bitch and all the Patriots fans. They're just boot him out
26:51 Shout out to the fans that were the Patriots fans
26:53 Represented well last night. I thought everybody
26:56 Represented well, it was again. It was just I feel I haven't seen anything like that on TV in a long
27:02 Long time. The fact was about Tom Brady added another level but like
27:07 Just good television man. They got to bring the roast back. I know nobody wants to do it
27:12 The last one was in 2019 was Alec Baldwin. That one was kind of man
27:17 The last really good one. I remember was James Franco in
27:20 2016 Andy Samberg did this hilarious set where he went up there?
27:25 I don't ever seen clip of this look it up and he just told
27:28 the worst
27:31 The timing was bad. The delivery was bad the inflection it was all
27:35 Terrible and he does it with a massive smile on his face and it's just it's it's really freaking funny. But
27:41 Yeah, I I hope they bring it back I don't know who
27:46 Hopefully this brings it back right? Like only this no no filter at all
27:50 So hopefully this is right put it on if this brings it back put another niche on Tom Brady's resume there
27:56 They will they gave him a rain. They gave him like a rain at the end
27:59 So there's this there's this a third I guess ninth ring because Giselle gave one back there
28:03 no, but like if
28:06 Yeah, if he if
28:10 Like if that brief that brings back to Rosa that brings back comedy give Tom Brady credit
28:16 Yep, anyone
28:18 You know, it doesn't be an athlete. I I don't know how many athletes have been roasted Brady might be
28:24 He's not the first he's one of the first. Yeah, I don't
28:29 Like surprised you weren't there teammate wise or that you would have maybe like to see um, I
28:36 Do a good L was never gonna be there, but that would have been fun
28:42 He was never ever gonna be he wouldn't go near that. Yeah
28:45 also
28:47 What's like relax like it was a joke. He didn't Brady. Yeah, he's saying for 20 million dollars
28:53 He would have seen the trouble. It just said he did it which yeah, I didn't minute to for 20 million
28:59 He didn't admit to calm down with that. Um, I
29:02 Saw I think like even Schefter tweeted it like we have closure. I don't know if he said we yeah
29:09 Closure on the plate gate Schefter just tweeted it like the quote I think but yeah, it was it was a joke
29:16 Let's let's not go with that one. Um
29:18 Yeah, I'm looking here. No athletes have been
29:22 Roasted
29:25 But maybe maybe you know, there's a president on that list. Maybe Tom runs for president now. Um, I
29:31 Don't know. I don't know how many other athletes like that's a real niche thing
29:36 You gotta be a big a Michael Jordan roast would actually probably be really good
29:39 because you'd have
29:42 Rodman
29:44 You'd probably Chuck would be and you know, he'd be great. No, he'd be great. The jokes at him would be great
29:50 I'm sure Shaq would you basically get inside the NBA at a roast at a roast and then you'd also have like Rodman
29:57 all the Larsa Pippen stuff
29:59 The gambling stuff like that would be who is the guy he took first overall
30:04 It was like his first ever pick is the GM and he was like this guy's gonna be the next superstar and he was horrible
30:10 You know what I'm talking about was it Kwame Brown I
30:16 Think it was Jordan pick him
30:20 Maybe
30:24 Yeah, he was it. He was the team president. Yeah, it was when he was the president player
30:30 If you want to see something really funny look up Kwame Brown cake incident, by the way, I don't know if you've ever seen that
30:37 But I have not but okay
30:40 Yeah, they should uh, they should bring back the roast. Yeah. Yeah, it was awesome. But um
30:47 Any other jokes you love that we didn't hit on I think I mean they were like Brady was great. Brady was great
30:55 Yeah, he ended it strong
30:57 Yeah going after the fan basis specifically was good
31:01 His blood so joke was great. Oh, you know was really good. I think was Nikki Glazer
31:06 Drew bled so Tom Brady could run. Yeah, it's like a great
31:12 great
31:15 Yeah, um, she was she was very good. She's great. She's great. She's always good at those
31:19 Jeff Ross coming out as roast Jason was good
31:25 Comedians name
31:27 Who they said like has the famous podcast and he got up out of the crowd and he went for like, yeah
31:32 I never heard of that guy. He was good
31:34 He said he said one line about like everyone and just went right down the line and it was like he was I'd never heard of
31:40 Him, but yeah, he was really he had a really good line about
31:43 Kreischer. Yeah, some bad
31:45 Remember but liver Kane and Tiger Kane. Oh, yeah
31:50 Then and it looks like it was beat up by Martin Luther King
31:55 Oh, yeah, we'd be remiss Boston's own CMJ. Yeah was was excellent
32:02 I was surprised we didn't see like
32:04 Bill Burr or someone. Oh that that's who was missing that I would have wanted to see that was like a patriot fan
32:11 Comedian well that bit I think that was a fleck
32:15 I think after it was there to do that part but built Bill Burr would have been Bill Burr should have been there
32:19 That's the one that that I think they missed. Yeah
32:24 Yeah, Brady, uh, he did
32:26 This awesome cheese fans. I saw a lot. Yes, dude
32:29 I saw a lot of tweets getting
32:31 They're all posts and because what was the joke like they're the loudest stadium now that they have all the 14 year old Taylor Swift
32:37 Fans before them and I saw someone on Twitter posted the screenshot
32:41 Like oh
32:42 this was the
32:43 Day or the game that we set the record and it was when they blew out the pats in
32:47 2014 like the beatdown and arrowhead
32:51 Little do they know what happened like two months later that year, but
32:54 Yeah, they the Chiefs fans that definitely struck a nerve there with some good
33:00 Some good Taylor Swift jokes in there to Nikki Glazer had a good one
33:03 Like oh, I just started watching football last year because Taylor Swift said it was okay. That was that was a good one
33:09 Someone said Burr had a show the night before in the chat so that might have been why he wasn't there but
33:18 Yeah, I would I would have liked to hear him. I would have liked to hear him
33:22 Although we've heard him talk about Brady and the Patriots plenty
33:25 So he probably had too much respect to get up there and trash on Tom Brady for 10 minutes anyway
33:31 But yeah, yeah definitely worth the watch
33:33 I know it is three hours, but it is worth it for Patriots fans, obviously, and I would say even non Patriots fans
33:40 as well, but
33:43 Any last thoughts on that? I think we hit on most of I'm probably gonna go watch it again before the Bruins game
33:49 Just unbelievable piece of television. Yeah. Oh, yes
33:53 Robert Kraft going to Putin. Yeah true rate. Oh, no, I know what it was. One of the best jokes was was
34:01 Robert Kraft's Jimmy Garoppolo joke
34:04 Yes, he goes. Good luck buying the Raiders there. He did your favorite thing got rid of Jimmy Garoppolo. Jimmy just massive stray
34:10 I'm bummed. He didn't catch more. Honestly should have Martel's Bennett up there back Jones got a stray to that
34:16 That's what's got a bad
34:18 deal with Matt Jones
34:20 We could do this for an hour
34:25 Antonio Cromartie caught a random stray early. Yeah. Oh, who is it?
34:30 Somebody said Dana White is like Mike Victor. Oh
34:34 No
34:37 What was it? Oh
34:38 It was the divorce like you rip off a Brazilian. No, no. No, somebody said it was talking about Dana White UFC
34:46 In said first up they said for Jeff Ross thought it wasn't limited fried chicken, which was very funny
34:52 But then somebody said that Dana White is like Mike Vic for people
34:57 Do you remember that one without one? I remember
35:00 Butchering it
35:02 I remember when they were talking about Tom's divorce and they said like you're gonna rip off a Brazilian like Dana White
35:08 Oh, yeah
35:10 But I don't I don't remember the Mike Victor dog one, but
35:14 Yeah, definitely go watch that again. It's on Netflix the greatest roast of all time Tom Brady
35:20 Definitely worth the time for all Pats fans, but you mentioned the Bruins very quickly

36:37 guaranteed so the Bruins
36:40 Big game 7. Yeah, give me give me give me some Bruce. Thanks Brian Boston Sports Minute here. I
36:48 Am believing in them to beat the Florida Panthers and I'm also an idiot for believing that the Panthers are the better better team
36:55 Well quickly, I'll say game 7 was awesome not for my heart rate, but it was awesome
37:01 You needed your best players to finally step up and that's what you did. Obviously Swayman was amazing again, but like campus Lindholm
37:09 Welcome to the playoffs like his best playoff game
37:13 Maybe his best game as a Bruins and you know getting here obviously the goal and then the beautiful past in overtime and pasta
37:20 Finishing that off. So that was you know, awesome. Just Leafs are gonna leaf just perfect
37:27 Hopefully this is kind of like a monkey off their back now like they didn't choke they won a round they can move on
37:32 And they're underdogs now against Florida. So I I have my hopes up which is probably stupid
37:39 But I think they can kind of make some noise here. They're gonna need more from you know, coils aka those centers
37:45 Charlie McAvoy had a tough end of the series. You're gonna need more from him
37:49 But if you get that level of goaltending play if maybe this kind of kick starts, you know pasta
37:54 And Martian can kind of revert back to what he did early in that series. I think they can
37:59 I think they can at least make this a series. I don't think that's gonna be a sweep
38:03 I don't think that's gonna be five. I think they can bring this to six or seven games and maybe one this one
38:08 Am I crazy and saying that I think all marks should start tonight?
38:11 No, I think it's gonna be Swayman, but I like this is what five starts in 12 days now
38:19 Yeah, five so this would be a six start in 14 days after alternating games going all the way back to February
38:25 Also, if you look at the splits Swayman was much better against Toronto like significantly better against Toronto than all mark was
38:33 This is flipped all mark was three and Oh against the Panthers this year and Swayman struggled
38:39 You have three goals in his lone start against them. I
38:42 Think you start all mark tonight give Swain in the rest
38:46 Worst case scenario you go back to swam in a game two and you still have a chance to steal home ice
38:50 I know it's not popular. Yes, you got to start the hot goalie
38:54 This team's got to think outside the box because they are the underdog. They got a punch above their weight
38:59 I would start all mark tonight. Yeah. Yeah, I think they're gonna start
39:04 Swayman I think that's what the morning skate seemed to indicate and like he can't blame them for riding the hot hand
39:10 He was just so good and it's like, you know, he's there still in this rhythm, right?
39:14 Like it feels like games game seven just ended and we got to play again. So they're still in this rhythm, but
39:19 You got a split in Florida
39:22 And if you lose this game, then like you're putting all mark in and he hasn't played in almost two weeks
39:28 So that that's a tough situation for him to go in but if you go all mark tonight
39:32 Maybe he steals one, you know, Florida hasn't played for a week
39:36 Maybe they're a little rusty and he's been good against Florida and then you have Jeremy Swayman to get him an extra
39:41 You know two three days of rest and you can go to him and game two. So I'd expect it to be Swayman, but I
39:48 Wouldn't you know hate on him for for going all mark and
39:53 Hopefully Brandon Carlo also got a private jet down there today. He gave you know, they welcomed a child in this morning
40:00 Congrats to him, but hopefully they got him down there
40:03 we'll see about that, but
40:06 yeah, I think they can at least make this a series but
40:09 Obviously Florida is the better team and I mean the Brofsky was just as locked in as Swayman was
40:15 In their first round series, so it's definitely about uphill battle against that Panthers team. Definitely
40:22 Celtics Celtics takes for you got the Cavs. Yeah
40:28 I'm not too worried about it. I Celtics should win in five. It's just get you know, stay healthy
40:33 Don't make this too tough that you got to rush Chris stops for seeing us back. It's a one-man show
40:39 It's all Donovan Mitchell and he was limping badly the last two games of that series. This should be light work for the Celtics
40:46 I'll actually be at the garden tomorrow night Thursday night with coverage for 98 5 the sports up my annual little post draft tradition
40:53 As it's become now is hopping on the Celtics beat
40:56 Starting in the second round of the playoffs feels like all the tax guys are hopping over to the Celtics beats
41:01 That's what I do. We got it. We got a ton of them, but yeah
41:05 Maybe Pat's pulpit wants to mix in some Celtics coverage. Yeah, who knows maybe we can we can work that and I'd rather
41:13 We'll talk Bruins. I'm gonna we got all the guys on the Celtics. I'll go handle handle the Bruins work for everyone, but
41:20 Yeah, it's gonna be an awesome awesome week again Bruins Celtics alternating every night and then rookie mini camp over the weekend
41:28 then the Red Sox will be
