00:00 Good morning, welcome to your National Morning Weather Update from the Met Office.
00:04 We've got a change in store with outbreaks of heavy rain across western
00:08 parts, still rather dry in the east, but that high pressure that we've held on to
00:12 is moving its way eastwards, allowing a low pressure to move in from the west,
00:17 bringing longer spells of rain. But back to this morning, we'll see some showers
00:21 affecting eastern parts of Scotland, they could still be on the heavy side, moving
00:25 their way northwards, further towards the east, low cloud breaking up to give a
00:30 good deal of sunshine. But this is this area of low pressure bringing heavy
00:35 outbreaks of rain, especially across south-western England, into Wales later
00:40 and into Northern Ireland. And here we do have yellow Met Office rain warnings
00:46 in force, so there could be some difficult driving conditions, some spray
00:49 on the roads and some surface water flooding too. But in the sunshine it will
00:54 still feel pleasantly warm, perhaps not as warm as what we saw over the weekend,
00:59 maybe highs of 20 up to 24 degrees, but a different feeling day across
01:05 western parts. Underneath all this cloud and rain, temperatures struggling here at
01:10 around 15 or 16 degrees, so a very different feel with some brisk winds as
01:15 well coming up from the south. And into this evening, that cloud and rain is
01:21 going to be moving its way slowly north and eastwards, so could give some
01:25 difficult driving conditions across the Midlands and the southeast as well
01:28 during rush hour, and again just slowly moving its way north eastwards with
01:34 showers coming in to the southwest, mixed with some clear spells in between. But
01:39 there is a lot of cloud around and that means temperatures aren't going to be
01:43 falling overnight with lows generally around 12 or even up to 14 degrees.
01:49 So it's going to be a mild start for many of us on Tuesday, a bit of a reverse in
01:54 where the wet weather is, so across Northern Ireland now and Northern
01:58 England and even into eastern parts of England as it gradually pushes its way
02:02 northwards to affect parts of Scotland, generally breaking up as it does so.
02:06 Behind that though, there will be some drier conditions but there will also be
02:10 some frequent showers coming in up from the south and west, and some of
02:15 these still could be on the heavy side, perhaps with the odd rumble of thunder,
02:19 but many places still seeing some sunny spells. And it is still going to be warm
02:24 where you do see the sunny spells, obviously feeling a little bit cooler
02:27 underneath the cloud and rain, but highs up to maybe 18 or 20 degrees. As we go
02:34 through the rest of the week, it does look like a case of sunny spells and
02:37 scattered showers, temperatures still feeling warm in the sunshine, but if you
02:41 want further details on that, be sure to hit subscribe on YouTube so you don't
02:45 miss a forecast. I'll catch you soon. Bye bye.
