00:00Hi guys and welcome to DriveSpark, I'm Prameeth and today we are driving the all-new 2024
00:09Maruti Suzuki Swift, the car everyone has been waiting for, so let's quickly start this video
00:13and I'll tell you everything you need to know about this hatchback.
00:24So starting off with the front end, the very first thing you'll notice is now the design
00:28has changed from the front end especially and the grille has also changed, you can see you get a
00:32honeycomb grille over here that's finished in piano black and the logo has moved up on the
00:37body instead of the logo before that you used to get it on the grille, other than that you get this
00:42matte black skid plate, you get new form lights, new headlights and you can see you get the
00:47boomerang DRLs plus you get a bi-functional projector for high beam and low beam and if
00:52you notice over here now the indicator has moved from here down below, so the indicator is the only
00:57part that's present in halogen, rest of the entire unit is an LED unit and I don't think you will
01:03notice any hood lines and pieces because there are none but overall the car looks sporty from the front end.
01:11So coming to the side, the first thing that will attract you are these 15-inch dual-toll
01:15diamond-cut alloy wheels, well you also get a choice of 14 but there are steel wheels and you
01:19get them with the base variant, overall if you see the body line, you can see the body line runs
01:23all along the hood and it carries all the way to the taillight, you also get gloss black ORVM
01:29with integrated indicators plus this is a dual-tone variant, so you get a black roof completely,
01:34black roof, you get no roof rails, no shark fin antenna and obviously no sunroof. Now if you move
01:40on to the side, you'll see that there is no chrome present and you also get request sensors both for
01:44the driver and the passenger, so whenever you're entering the car, you don't need to physically take
01:47the key out every time, you just have to press a button and I mean it's a keyless entry. Moving on
01:51to the rear door, so now the handle has moved back, earlier the handle was somewhere here on
01:56the quarter window but now it has moved back to its regular place, looks good, looks really classy
02:02and this is the rear end of the car, so over here you can see that the spoiler is there, I mean it's
02:07not a spoiler, so it's kind of a spoiler, you get a high stop LED light, you also get a washer along
02:13with the wiper defoggers, you get the Swift badging over here, your Suzuki badging over here but no
02:18variant badging now, earlier they had the variant badging but now the variant badging is not there,
02:22this is the top of the line ZXI plus dual-tone variant, so obviously they used to be written ZXI
02:28plus but now the variant badging has gone and this is your rear parking camera, along with the sensors
02:32you have guidelines but they are not active, camera is pretty clear and you can reverse easily in tight
02:38spaces, also if you see that the bumper is finished in body colour and not in black, so one more thing
02:43that you get different is now the taillight, you can see over here, it's a smoke taillight
02:48and it's got this black element plus if you see over here, this part and this part of the taillight
02:52is finished in LED, that is the red part that glows obviously when you hit the brake and the
02:56reverse light and the indicator is finished in halogen but overall the taillight looks really
03:01nice and goes very well with the smoked headlight that is present in the front, now let's talk about
03:05the boot space, so to open the boot you have a request sensor over here, boot is pretty light,
03:10opens up really well and you have around 265 litres of boot space that is the same as the previous
03:16generation Swift, well you also see you get a parcel tray and to close the boot, you just have
03:21to do this and the boot closes automatically because it is a very light boot, now let's go
03:26inside and I'll tell you what has changed on the inside of the all-new Swift, so this is the rear
03:39section, well let me just get in since I'm here, so now we're inside the rear seat and as you can
03:45see that this seat is not adjusted around to my height, this is adjusted according to my colleague
03:49Zaid, his height is around 5'10 and according to his adjustments you can see that I have a lot of
03:56knee room, headroom and a little bit under thigh support is less but overall it's a comfortable
04:00cabin, you get two headrests and obviously you can see that the headrests are adjustable, the seat
04:05does not recline behind but the seat is comfortable, however it lacks under thigh support and one more
04:10thing that this lacks in is a centre armrest, now still they have not given a centre armrest, I don't
04:14know why but the centre armrest is really important, if there are four people traveling then you can
04:18obviously deploy this and keep your hand and go in comfort, well a new thing that has been added is
04:24this AC vent, so now you get rear AC vents, however this does not have any controls, it's a single zone
04:29climate control and you have a type A and a type C charging socket present over here, well there's
04:34some storage space where you can keep your phone while you're charging it and you also get some
04:37magazine holders and if you see you get some door pockets for a bottle but that is for a half litre
04:41bottle, a one litre bottle will not go in that, so now let's go on to the front end and I'll tell you
04:45what you get over there, so now we are in the front seat, the cabin as you can see, so this
04:55is how the dashboard now looks like, a lot of changes have been done, a lot of changes have
05:00you just heard that, when you start the car it'll just say welcome to the epic new swift, so yeah
05:05that was the start of music and plus you have your infotainment system, so this is a nine inch
05:10touchscreen that's been taken off the Baleno and you have this aircon control also that you have
05:16seen on previous Maruti cars, other than that relatively things are new over here, they have used
05:21hard plastic but the quality of plastic is really really good, plus another thing that has been
05:25added is this phone charger, you can see it's a wireless phone charger, so obviously you just
05:31have to keep your phone and if it's a post wireless charging it will just charge, other than that this
05:35is the key, they have done nothing to the key, I think this blue colour, I think this is already there
05:40but apart from this, this is the key which is pretty basic, you get two cup holders, cup holders
05:44are now larger, they say they can fit a big cup or a big bottle easily, there's a five-speed manual,
05:50you also get an automatic with this, some storage space here, no armrest and that's about it, there's
05:54storage space, you have a glove box and apart from that you have a flat bottom steering wheel, with
05:59the steering wheel is only adjustable for tilt, there is no telescopic adjustment for the steering
06:04wheel, steering model controls are really nice, I like this piano black finishing that's going on
06:08the steering wheel, you have your phone controls over here, so you can pick up your call, drop your
06:12call and give a voice command from here as well, if you see the instrument cluster, now the instrument
06:17cluster is completely new, so it's again analog and you have a four-inch MID screen in between,
06:24that displays a lot of information about the car and apart from that you have your rev counter and
06:29your speedometer, well the rev counter has a bezel around it, the speedometer does not have a bezel
06:33around it and you do not get an auto dimming IRVM, you get a manual dimming IRVM, plus if
06:38you see over here, you get a vanity mirror for the passenger, but no vanity mirror for the driver,
06:44now let's talk about the seats, seats are really comfortable, the driver's seat is really nice,
06:47you can see the side bow strings keep you in place, a very comfortable seat, you can see very
06:52soft, good on the tire support and the driver's side has a height adjuster, so it is very easy
06:57for the driver to find the right driving position, plus if this had a tilt and telescopic,
07:03it would have been a really really nice thing, so yeah, this was the cabin and one more thing,
07:09this infotainment system, I mean this now gets connected features, so the Swift now gets 40
07:14plus connected features and you can connect your phone and go through everything, also this has
07:18Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, so yeah, that was the cabin, so now let's quickly drive the car and
07:24I'll tell you how the new Swift is to drive. So now we're at the driving seat of the all-new
07:36Swift and let me give you a quick engine brief, so this car is powered by a 1.2-litre
07:42Z series engine, this is a new series engine that Maruti has come up with and this is a more fuel
07:46efficient engine than the K series, so this is a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated and this produces
07:5280 BSP of power and 114 Nm of torque, well, we know that the power and the torque figures have
07:57gone down and on the plus side, what you get is, you get excellent mileage out of it, so the
08:03company claims that you will get around 24 plus kilometres per litre on a manual that we are
08:07driving today and surprisingly, you will get around 25 plus kilometres per litre on the
08:14auto shift, that's the AMT, this is surprisingly, it's opposite, you get more mileage out of manual,
08:18but Maruti's claiming that the AMT will give better mileage than the manual one, okay, so now
08:24let's quickly talk about the suspension, one thing, straight up, the suspension has been set up
08:29brilliantly, this is a new suspension setup and it is just awesome, it absorbs all the bumps, all
08:36the potholes and if you want to corner hard, it will just hold the line, I mean, it offers you
08:41best of both worlds, it is seriously good, other than that, the steering is light, I mean, it's a
08:48very sharp steering, you don't need to give much input, the car changes lane very quickly, seats
08:54are very nice, if we talk about the manual version that we are driving today, the gear throws are
08:58really short, so it feels like kind of a short shifter, but apart from that, the clutch is also
09:04very, very light, so you will not have a problem in stop and go traffic, so as far as power is
09:09concerned, obviously, the initial bit has become slightly linear, but it has a good mid-range and
09:14a good top-end, Swift has always been like a sporty hatchback in the Indian market and I think
09:22Maruti has definitely kept up to that, well, obviously, people always say that the power has
09:26dropped, torque has dropped, but power and torque always don't matter so much, because you will lose
09:33out on a lot of other things, if you just keep on pushing power and torque, first is mileage,
09:38then is drivability, then is durability, maintenance, a lot of things have to be seen,
09:42well, apart from that, comfort-wise, absolutely comfortable, the seats are really nice,
09:46the bucket seats, you literally sink in the seat and you have a height adjuster, so obviously,
09:51I mean, the driver has an advantage, plus steering wheel, as I mentioned earlier, is only for tilt,
09:57so finding the right driving position will not be that difficult, so now let's talk about the
10:01safety features and this car gets obviously two disc brakes, that's the front, rear is a
10:05drum setup, apart from that, you get six airbags as standard from the base variant
10:10and you also get traction control, you get EVD, you get ESP, you get hill hold, so yeah, that's a
10:15new feature that has been added, so now the Swift gets a hill hold feature and apart from that,
10:20you have auto start-stop and all of that and you have multiple safety features, not only the
10:24airbags, airbags is obviously now, six airbags has become like a standard protocol for manufacturers,
10:31so yeah, the Swift also now gets six airbags and yeah, internationally, this has not been
10:36tested for Bharat NCAP, but in the international, the global rating, the Swift has got around four
10:41stars, so let's hope that it will keep up with that four-star when Bharat NCAP will happen and
10:47if that takes place and this gets a four-star rating, then trust me, this is a definite
10:53improvement over the previous generation Swifts, so yeah guys, I mean, if you're definitely looking
10:58out for a family car, if you talk about the pricing, I'll mention it at the end of the video,
11:02but at this price range, you should definitely go check out the all-new Swift.
11:10So guys, this was the all-new Swift and if you talk about the pricing of this car,
11:14this car has been launched in India at a price of Rs. 6.5 lakh rupees ex-showroom
11:19and the top-end variant, what you see over here, the dual-tone carries a price of Rs. 9.65 lakh
11:23ex-showroom and all the prices that I mentioned are ex-showroom and apart from that, you have
11:28six variants with this car along with nine colour options out of which three are dual-tone, so yeah
11:33guys, this was the all-new Swift, if you have any queries about this car, please mention it on the
11:37comment section and we will get back to you on that, until then, if you've liked this video,
