00:00In 1975, in Puerto Rico, a farmer saw most of his goats dying on the ground.

00:08He approached and saw that the animals were stiff and had two marks of puncture on their necks.

00:14Goats were not the only animals that were injured.

00:17Many pigs, cows and oxen also lost their lives.

00:20They all had the same distinctive marks of bite on their necks and all had been emptied of their vital fluids.

00:27Residents immediately jumped to conclusions and accused the dogs.

00:31And the authorities did not bother to conduct a better investigation

00:34and simply said that the dogs were responsible for it without looking for evidence.

00:38A few days later, however, many other animals were found dead.

00:42Among them, a cow that had literally been opened.

00:46And she had a lot of fangs on her head.

00:49The farmer next door reported that his chickens had been destroyed by something.

00:54In just a few weeks, the creature took the lives of 90 farm animals.

00:59A little later, another farmer said that 10 of his goats had been emptied,

01:047 had been injured and 11 were reported missing.

01:07This time, the authorities did not waste time and started hunting the monsters.

01:12But they did not have a chance to find the culprit.

01:14The incident was everywhere in the local newspaper and the beast was named the Moka vampire.

01:21The incident caught the attention of the agricultural commission

01:25and the scientist Juan Rivero was in charge of solving this mystery from another world.

01:30His first suspect was a boa from Puerto Rico.

01:34This venomous snake can measure a little over 2 meters.

01:37However, its diet includes only small prey.

01:41It is also very shy towards humans and other animals.

01:44It avoids larger creatures at all costs.

01:47You are more likely to see fish climbing trees than to see this boa kill an entire cow.

01:52Near the crime scene, a large cave has been discovered.

01:56And we all know that strange creatures like to live in dark and cold caves.

02:01In the cave, they found bats with a crazy look.

02:49The animals were anemic and seemed to have died recently.

02:53Judging by appearances, the creature's favorite food was goats.

02:58And that's how it got the sadly famous name we've all heard.

03:05Dogs, chickens, rabbits and other animals were not excluded from the menu.

03:10In a short time, the chupacabra took 1,000 farm animals.

03:14Now, this animal had a name.

03:17But people still had no idea what the chupacabra looked like.

03:23In Canovanas, Madaline and her mother reported seeing a strange creature that could have been the chupacabra.

03:30They said it walked on two legs like a human and looked like a kangaroo.

03:34They mentioned that the monster also had thorns on its back, no ears, big dark eyes and two holes for a nose.

03:43The chupacabra seemed to like Madaline's house because her husband and colleague found it in the garage.

04:19In 1976, in a TV show, they talked about the chupacabra and the show quickly became viral.

04:27Quickly, people began to report seeing a similar creature in Florida and Mexico.

04:32Many claimed that the stories were like a rodeo of unicorns.

04:36They were totally made up.

04:38In Mexico, two skeptical investigators, Patricia and Mario,

04:42have spread traps around farms where the chupacabra would have allegedly been seen.

04:47They caught a few animals in their trap, but no trace of the goat slayer.

04:52They only captured wild dogs.

04:55The police claimed that the chupacabra was only a wild dog and not a mythical creature.

05:00And yet, over the next five years, many apparitions of the chupacabra have been reported around the world.

05:09On August 30, 2000, a farmer in Nicaragua discovered 25 of his sheep and 35 sheep of his injured neighbor.

05:16So he decided to take matters into his own hands.

05:19One night, he patiently waited in total darkness for the creature to appear.

05:23Suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, he saw something and managed to hit it.

05:28The creature went from life to death.

05:30Finally, they had been the proof that the chupacabra was not just a fairy tale.

05:34It was a great thing.

05:37Later, the chupacabra was examined by a veterinarian.

05:41The veterinarian was shocked because he had no idea what the creature was.

05:45Do you remember Madeline's description?

05:48Well, the veterinarian described the animal differently.

05:51But his story turned out to be more plausible.

05:53This chupacabra had large teeth, gigantic claws, greenish eyes, a skin similar to that of a bat and a ridge sticking out of its back.

06:03The veterinarian concluded that the animal was a kind of hybrid.

06:07He thought it was a cross between a wolf and a crocodile.

06:11But it looks like an exaggeration and is difficult to believe.

06:15We all know that such a mixture is impossible.

06:19They performed some tests on the body in a university in Nicaragua.

06:23And the results did not quite deliver what they hoped.

06:27The animal was a wild dog with galls.

06:30Galls are a pruriginous skin disease that causes dogs to lose their hair.

06:35It is also very contagious.

06:37When a dog has galls, its skin becomes squamous and wrinkled.

06:41When they returned the body, the farmer noticed that it was not his chupacabra.

06:46Seven years later, another body was discovered in Texas.

06:50Phyllis Canin returned to her farm and noticed that some of her hens were dead.

06:56All seemed to be anemic.

06:58Later, she saw creatures resembling coyotes that did not have hair.

07:03Even more animals were injured.

07:05She had to install cameras on her farm.

07:08But unfortunately, as always, she did not manage to record anything.

07:14Surprisingly, she received a call from a local farmer,

07:17who had found the chupacabra overturned by a car.

07:20Later, another body was discovered much closer to her farm.

07:24She took some pictures of the animal and soon these images were everywhere on the Internet.

07:29Phyllis was curious and sent five DNA samples to five different universities.

07:35The results did not match any of the archival animals.

07:38Researchers had no idea what it was, but it was not a dog.

07:42Phyllis still has an animal in her freezer and a naturalized specimen in her house.

07:49There are many theories about the chupacabra.

07:52Some claim that the animal is a genetically modified monkey that escaped from the laboratory.

07:57Others claim that it is a mysterious and supernatural creature.

08:01The most constant hypothesis is that the chupacabra is a mixture between a Mexican wolf and a coyote from Gaul.
