OECD, RI Ikut Kerja Sama Pembangunan Ekonomi Dunia

Menteri Koordinator Bidang Perekonomian Airlangga Hartarto menegaskan, Indonesia bertekad menjadi anggota Organisasi Kerja Sama dan Pembangunan Ekonomi atau Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

Menurutnya, keanggotaan Indonesia dalam OECD menjadi sangat penting karena dapat menjadi rambu bagi Indonesia. Hal ini agar senantiasa adaptif terhadap perkembangan global yang terjadi.

00:36In this special meeting, the OECD Secretary-General reaffirmed that 38 OECD member countries support Indonesia's membership
00:43in the Club of Developed Countries to work together on the development of the world economy.
00:48The Minister of Finance, Erlangga Hartato, as the Chairperson of Indonesia's membership in the OECD,
00:54emphasized that if Indonesia succeeds in becoming a member of the OECD,
00:57it is targeted to increase GDP by 1%.
01:01This can be achieved because OECD members can increase investment into Indonesia.
01:06Our target is to increase not only investment, but also GDP by 1%.
01:17This means that it is beneficial for business, workers, and MSMEs.
01:22It will also boost the national economy and job opportunities.
01:28Erlangga added that OECD access is also important for Indonesia to be able to get out of the middle-income trap.
01:33To do that, Indonesia can become a member of the OECD and become a developed or highly-income country.
01:38According to the current government, in the next 10 years,
01:40per capita income can be targeted at more than US$12,000.
01:45Meanwhile, President Joko Widodo said that the main advantage for Indonesia to become a member of the OECD
