00:02 - Well, this weekend, let's talk about the young stars
00:08 who wanna stop them.
00:09 Defensive, budding superstars in college football.
00:13 I'll go from front to back.
00:15 Let's start with the defensive line.
00:16 My favorite guy in this discussion, Peter Woods,
00:20 defensive lineman from Clemson,
00:22 second year out of high school, 6'2", 315 pounds.
00:27 Scott, I've been told that he is Christian Wilkins, 2.0.
00:31 I think that's gonna wind up being a disparagement
00:35 to Peter Woods because he's faster than Wilkins.
00:38 He's stronger, he's bigger.
00:41 In fact, Clemson says he might be the fastest Clemson
00:45 defensive lineman at 315 pounds.
00:48 In fact, Dabo is gonna move him from defensive tackle
00:51 last year as a true freshman outside the defensive end
00:55 to leverage his pass rushing skills.
00:57 Now, second level, Tony Rojas, Penn State.
01:00 Penn State, obviously known as linebacker U.
01:03 Tony's gonna be the next great linebacker for Penn State.
01:06 He allowed Abdul Carter to move from the second level
01:10 to defensive end in the off season last year.
01:13 Also a true freshman like Peter Woods.
01:15 You know, he shined on film,
01:17 even in garbage time, special teams.
01:19 He just looked like he was different.
01:22 Now he gets a chance to be a starter
01:23 at weak side linebacker Scott in the off season.
01:26 He's added 20 pounds of muscle
01:29 to take advantage of this role.
01:30 I think he's a 75, 80, maybe even 85 tackle guy
01:35 in his first season as a starter.
01:37 Now, let's go back to the secondary cornerback,
01:40 Takario Davis of Arizona.
01:43 Not a household name unless your household
01:45 includes NFL scouts.
01:47 Scouts love him.
01:48 Teams across the country loved him.
01:50 He was one of the more coveted players in the portal,
01:53 but decided to stay put in Tucson.
01:56 He's gonna help Brent Brennan in his first year
01:59 as the head coach of the Wildcats.
02:01 Six-four, very lean, very long,
02:04 runs like a gazelle, great ball skills.
02:07 15 pass breakups last year, Scott,
02:10 yet no All-Pac 12 love.
02:12 I think that changes in the Big 12 this year,
02:15 one of the top corners in the country.
02:17 And finally, I'll wrap it up with another secondary player,
02:20 safety Keon Saab from Alabama.
02:23 Michigan backup last year,
02:25 only got about 20 snaps per game,
02:28 yet had eight forced incompletions.
02:30 Kalen DeBoer, the new head coach of Alabama,
02:32 says he's got the it factor,
02:34 great leader, championship kind of makeup.
02:37 I think he's a worthy successor to Caleb Downs,
02:40 who moved on to Ohio State.
02:42 So Keon Saab in his first chance to be a starter,
02:46 I think he's gonna be a stud for Alabama.
