Transcription
00:00Hello, good evening, my name is David, so we run the director of the movie Between the Notes
00:12that features Hélène Grimoire, the wonderful French pianist Hélène Grimoire.
00:16So this movie features amazing people such as Yannick Nézet-Séguin who is one of the
00:22greatest conductor of all time and who actually broke the barricades really of classical music
00:30to the masses with such intelligence and such modernity.
00:34He is in the movie, I have the opera singer Bryn Terfel but also conductor like Roderick
00:39Cox and a lot of really really phenomenal people including Jacques Rouvier who is the
00:46first teacher of Hélène Grimoire from the age of 12 until 18.
00:51I'm extremely honored to have that movie premiere tonight.
00:55This is actually a world premiere at this iconic movie theater called Empire 25 AMC.
01:03So I want to thank from the bottom of my heart Hélène Grimoire who gave me that opportunity
01:07but also all the team of Dutch Gramophone and the team of AMC particularly Mr. Dom Presto.
01:13So thank you so much Dom, thank you AMC, thank you to the audience and thank you to all the
01:18team who works with me to make that movie happen.
01:22So I hope you're going to enjoy it and I can't wait to show it to you.
01:25Bye bye.
01:26What are your impressions about having the premiere of your movie tonight at the AMC
01:33theater in Times Square?
01:34Oh my gosh, well first of all I think it's more your movie than mine.
01:38It's a privilege for sure.
01:39I'm aware of the fact that it is an honor.
01:44The good thing is as always with you, I don't know what to expect which is fantastic, it's
01:48an adventure so I'm looking forward.
01:50It's always something which fills me with gratitude, this idea that anybody might even
01:54be remotely interested and then especially to get to work with someone who has this energy
01:58and passion as you do.
02:02And then every intervention of every colleague in the piece, it's really humbling, it's
02:10just motivation to keep going.
02:13Sometimes before you can keep going you have to take a step back and this is a good time
02:17to do so.
02:18What do you feel about classical music throughout the year?
02:21Yeah, well you're right, I mean that's really significant because you know we often say
02:25classical music but for me it's not so much classical, it is the music of the time in
02:31which it resonates and so it's very much the music of today and it holds so much power,
02:37so much beauty and so much truth.
02:39I think it's what everybody needs so it has its place here.
02:43Ladies and gentlemen, good evening!
02:46How is everyone feeling?
02:49I'm sorry I don't hear you, how is everyone feeling?
02:54Ok, listen, this whole movie theatre is about Beyonce, you know, but tonight you have the
03:03Beyonce of the piano, Ellen Greenwald ladies and gentlemen!
03:08Thank you, so let me introduce myself, I'm David Servibor, I'm the director and the producer
03:14of the movie that you're going to see tonight.
03:17Thank you so much!
03:19Thank you, I have two friends, one here and one here as you can hear.
03:23I'm so excited to present to you that movie which is actually the first movie that was
03:28in partnership with Dutch Gramophone, you guys know Dutch Gramophone, give it up for
03:32them, thank you!
03:34We couldn't have dreamed to have this first screening.
03:38As to my brother right here, Miguel, I finished the movie Sunday, I did the last export Sunday,
03:47so this is really brand new.
03:50It's a beautiful conversation between this incredible genius, this incredible woman who
03:59has changed so much into her own field.
04:04And I'm talking of course ladies and gentlemen about the one and only, who flew all the
04:08way from LA to be with us today, Ellen Greenwald!
04:17So the movie is going to start, you know, it's about six hours, you know, which in
04:23classical music is like a first movement, right?
04:26No, it's an hour, and after we'll be followed with a Q&A, you will be able to ask your questions
04:32to directly Ellen Greenwald.
04:34Ladies and gentlemen, I wish you a wonderful screening.
04:39Thank you to ANC Theatre for hosting, because this is the first time that there is a movie
04:46about a classical musician, so to have classical music in the midst of all of that, it means a lot.
04:53So thank you so much, thank you ANC Theatre.
04:56Enjoy, we love you, thank you so much, thank you!
