00:00Good morning. A brief hot spell to come across southeastern areas to end the week and today
00:05is going to be a considerably drier and warmer day across much of the UK. We've got a ridge
00:10of high pressure building in, so clear skies for much of the country out there this morning.
00:16There is a weather front out to the west, that's these cloudier skies and the rain.
00:19It won't make much progress across the UK, so plenty of sunshine to come through much
00:24of the day. I think this afternoon will be a bit cloudier than first thing and there
00:27is a risk of the odd shower breaking out here and there, but for most of us we should
00:31stay warm and temperatures are going to climb higher as well. We've got the heat starting
00:34to build through this afternoon. Temperatures climbing towards 24 degrees across southeastern
00:39areas, but widely we're in 22s, 23s, the low 20s across much of the UK, so quite a difference
00:46compared to the beginning of this week. And through this evening it should stay largely
00:51dry away from the northwest parts of Northern Ireland and western areas of Scotland. We
00:56could see some drizzly rain moving into parts of Wales as well and it will turn a little
01:00bit cloudier the further west you go. It's starting to turn a bit humid from the west
01:04as well. Across the south and east though, still staying clear and dry. Temperatures
01:09are going to be a bit higher tonight compared to last night because we've got that humid
01:13air starting to build in. So staying in the mid-teens for most of us, so you might start
01:17to feel that when you are trying to sleep at night. Back into Thursday, it looks like
01:22for most of us it's going to be another dry and fine day. Again, this weather front is
01:27going to push into northwestern areas. It's Northern Ireland, Scotland most likely, western
01:31areas of Scotland that are most likely to see some rain. For most of us though, it should
01:35stay dry. There will probably be a bit more cloud around, hazier sunshine through the
01:38day on Thursday and that humid feel will stick with us. But temperatures will climb higher
01:43on Thursday. We could be at around 26, 27 degrees across southeastern areas, 25 across
01:49central areas of England. So warmer than it has been lately for sure. And that heat
01:55will build even further as we head into Friday as well. Likely peaking on Friday, possibly
02:00lasting into Saturday as well. As we look further towards the weekend, weather fronts
02:05will likely reintroduce some of this fresher air from the north and west. But if you want
02:09to know any more details around this brief hot spell, why not check out our deep dive
