00:00So with all this cap space and all this cap help, obviously, it seems like they're drawing the line
00:04when it comes to Devon Godshaw and Matthew Judah. Now, of course, we don't know what's going to
00:09happen. They could very well end up finding some kind of middle ground that they're both happy
00:12with. But why do you think there is so much difficulty with these two players? And what
00:17do you think reasonable deals would look like for each of these guys? Age, age, age, age. The NFL
00:24is such a young man's game. They are the, what, the Patriots only have six, maybe six guys on
00:31this team that are over the age of 30. All right. Hunter Henry and Andrews were the only ones who
00:35got extensions that are going to be 30 this year. Yeah, okay, yeah, yeah. It's a young man's game.
00:44Um, Bama did get paid, but Lawrence guy got released. All right. Do you believe in
00:54the talents of Keon White, Sam Roberts, Jeremiah farms, you know, saying these guys on the interior
01:02lines, Daniel Eccolet, who would got hurt last year. All right. He was pretty good. All right.
01:11He's on a relatively cheap contract. All right. If you say, well, I can't work out a deal with
01:22gotcha. And, but you can extend Eccolet, which is a little, you know what I'm saying? But for
01:31less money than what gotcha, you know what I'm saying? So you can build around, you save, you
01:38have some kit savings there. You got Eccolet plus a player to replace gotcha. That's why,
01:46um, I think it's going to happen. I've never thought that gotcha was going to get extended.
01:52I'm like, literally I've had five people when I did it, I said five people and they probably should
01:56have had six because I thought Brendan school would be the guy. Right. I never thought gotcha
02:00would be because he's like, if you want to extend it, Bob Moore, and you got these young guys
02:06talents, they have the opportunity to show up, you know what I'm saying? I don't see it happening
02:13with him, but I think the deal that that makes most sense for him is just given a hundred,
02:18a hundred jail, same money, same structure. It's given a hundred hundred deal. They're on the
02:25nine, $9 million, 27, you know, $9 million a year, $27 million in three years. But for him,
02:32because it's as an extension, it'd be a 9.3, $5 million API. So that's the agents could say
02:38you got better money, better deal than under Henry. All right. Because of the new money thing.
02:43All right. Um, I'll be pleasantly surprised if gosh, I signs a deal with them. I will not be
02:54shocked if he gets traded. Okay. I will be, I will be surprised that they don't reach a deal
03:01with Judah because it's relatively easy to do so. I just think that like they're deciding on,
03:08on negotiating on the guaranteed money, not the guarantee money for 2024. All right. No,
03:14say we're not, we know he's not getting cut. All right. We know that Judah is not getting cut
03:18period. All right. Is that, that's not happened. So we just get to say, we could also suppose,
03:24so we could think that his salary that's out there is already, it's not explicitly guaranteed,
03:32but we can say implicitly guaranteed. Right. So they're talking about the guaranteed money
03:37for 2025 and 2026. All right. I think that he's like, if I was Matthew Judon,
03:45all right, I don't want to go through this again. Appreciate years. All right. So he did this,
03:51you know, so I want guaranteed money for 2024. I want my, I want all of my salary in 2025,
03:58it's fully guaranteed. I want a good portion that you have to think about cutting me in 2026
04:06in the early part of the, of the agency, or I want a huge roster bonus in the early part of the
04:15off season. So you have to make a decision so I can go into free agency at the beginning and not
04:19at the end. Yeah. All right. One of those two things. All right. That's what they're looking.
04:24That's what if I was Matthew Judon, that's what you're looking for. If I, and I'm, and so you
04:28would talk about money. I'm thinking $15 million is the magic number. Okay. He was signed for a
04:35deal. It's about 30, the original deal, I was around 13 and a half, but the cap has gone up
04:42since then. Right. His value to the team has got up since then. All right. But he's also older.
04:49He's coming off a season. He just played four games. So let's go with 15. Let's guarantee
04:54the salary for 2024. Let's guarantee the salary, 25 guaranteed, some salary for 2026.
05:00Let's call it an end deal. Let's go. Let's go. All right. And do you think it's the team that's
05:06sorry, buddy. So do you think that's like kind of where the issue is? The team's like,
05:10we don't want to guarantee 2024 and 2025. Is that where you think they're not really?
05:14No, I don't think they want to guarantee 26. I think they're willing to guarantee 2024.
05:20That's I don't think they're negotiating about 2024. I think they're negotiating about
05:26the guarantees for 2025 and 2026. I could see Jude on saying, I'm not, I got to get my salary
05:35fully guaranteed in 2025. I can see that being a sticking point. Right. I could see, I could,
05:42let me, I got to look at Hunter Henry's deal. Is his salary in 2025 fully guaranteed? Now I
05:48got to hold on a minute. Now I don't know. I said, no, I'm just off the top of my head. Cause I,
05:51I know his numbers for 2024, but I don't remember his numbers for 2025.
05:54Oh, that's embarrassing. All right. Hold on a minute.
05:59I love it. Now I'll get you the love that you're getting in the chat.
06:02All right. All right. Okay. Hunter Henry has $6.65 million of his salary guaranteed for 2025.
06:13All right. Matthew June should definitely beat that. Okay. And his, you know, saying that's,
06:18that should be the very minimum. All right. But that's the, all of Hunter Henry. All right.
06:23If you're get willing to guaranteed a tight end, all right. A tight end, a fully guaranteed
06:30contract at 2025, you should be able to guarantee that off with Matthew June. All right. I think
06:38that the hangup is 2025 and 2026. All right. We will see what happens, folks. I'll be, I'm still
06:47on the record saying he's going to get extended. All right. I think all this other stuff is just
06:53nonsense. All this noise is just nonsense. We'll see what happens. I could be wrong. All right.
07:03But if I'm wrong, it's more likely that I'll be wrong because he,
07:11the two side, either somebody came in and offered the pages a great deal in the trade
07:17and saying, like, he's two sides come to a Richard impasse.
07:25The picture says, see if you can find a trade partner. If they can, and if they do,
07:30they give us what they want. You can go. We'll move on. That's more, if I'm wrong,
07:34that's the more likely scenario that happens. Take the gas work out of buying NBA tickets at

08:00So that's why you think ends up getting traded because I think he gets traded. I, especially if
08:09the guys, the young guys show up in the, in training camp. I mean,
08:16Accolade, who else do we need to them for the show up to, to be really the top three
08:21to be a quality Jeremiah farms. Then far more played a lot of nose tackle last season.
08:27If like, they just need one of those guys, one of those guys, and then say,
08:34by God, gotcha. And then you got younger and cheaper. I'm not saying they got better
08:40because the NFL, when you, I'm not saying they got better, but they got younger and cheaper.
08:44All right. I don't think he's going to be in a roster. If I, if I'm doing a 53 man roster,
08:51I'm not, I'm not putting no, I'm not putting them on the roster.
08:57I'm not putting it up just because if he's that, like literally he's talking about this money
09:02thing. I'm like, man, you're not getting, okay. So I looked it up. All right. In terms of
09:08cap and cash this year, he's in the top 15. All right. And API he's in a 30th. I'm like,
09:15but he can't go that much more. I want to bring up the God shot stuff. All right.
09:21So doesn't it feel like really all he wants is maybe just guarantees for this year,
09:24not an extension, but just so he knows he has some money since none of it's guaranteed.
09:31Oh, I wish that was it. That'd be so simple to do. Cause literally you can just give them a raise.
09:36Literally you could give him like, he's going to get a $3.3 million this year in cash. That's
09:42what he's doing. Right. You can give him $12 million pro rate over next year. And we're done.
09:48Yeah. If that was it, it's really so simple. If it was just that it would be done like this.
09:55So you think he wants an extension since we're going through a big, like, like,
09:59I think he wants an extension that pays them more than what they think he's worth.
10:04Cause if it was, if the two sides could agree, um, on like Mike research said something about,
10:11maybe they do something about incentives and stuff like that. Right. If that was to happen,
10:19I think it would, that's the E that's the second easiest thing to do. All right. Is,
10:24but the play has to agree to it. I'm not sure I would, if I was gotcha on his shoes, I would do
10:28it. All right. I definitely wouldn't do it. Um, it's, I would see if I would definitely do it.
10:33If I was Judah, because he played so few games, he doesn't, it's so be so easy to give him
10:41millions and millions and millions of dollars and not likely be earned incentives. You could tag it,
10:47you know, you, you got sacks, you got available to them. You got the winds,
10:52you got improvement in defensive. Oh, that'd be tough. Cause the team was pretty good. But
10:56so let's say they have, you place, you got the snaps, you could tie it to snaps and wins.
11:03You can tie it to snaps and wins and play up our films. So probably want to say it's so much easier
11:08for him than for Godshaw. Um, I just gotcha has to be thinking. I looked at this the other day.
11:18Let me look at my table again. Hold on a minute. I started thinking like he can't ask for that much
11:24more than what he is right now. I was on the same page. Cause we're talking about like,
11:29obviously he is vital to their run defense, but this is a team that like you mentioned with
11:33Lawrence guy has already shown that they make this philosophically be moving on.
11:37And we've heard from players and coaches that one of the big emphases that they had for this season
11:42was having an improved pass rush. And as good as the bond God tries against the run,
11:46he gives you almost nothing on the other end of the spectrum. So I don't really understand
11:51where the leverage is for him because it makes no sense because the other guys give you both,
11:56they give you a pass rush and run defense and God Charles, more of a one trick Pony.
12:00That makes it pretty tough, even though he is a rare body type on the team.
12:03Okay. So like, all right, let's let, let's look at the bills.
12:06All of us get $17 million a year. All right. Is gosh, I was getting 10.4. Let, um,
12:15I don't think that got charged at all of them. No, no. Okay. All right. So let's, let's put the,
12:21okay. Let's put the difference Grover Stewart in Stuart in the coast, $13 million.
12:29It's closer, closer. Okay. See, right. So that, so that if, if gosh, I'll think she's at all of
12:36them. Patriots six, he's Grover Stewart. Okay. Yeah. You're not going to get it. And they can't
12:44come to an agreement. Nothing. I don't know how you bridge that gap.
12:49You can't bridge that gap. You really can't. You got to want it. And I, and I don't blame
13:00the pages for saying things like that. I, I wouldn't do it. If he thinks he's Grover,
13:04if he thinks he's at all of them, walk away. Yeah. Just walk away. It's like,
13:09you can't make a deal and he's going to be unhappy about it. Walk away.
13:15And they've already shown they're willing to do that. And for agency with Pharaoh Brown,
13:18with Mack Wilson, with Miles Bryant, like as much as they've been rewarding people on the team that
13:22they like, they've also shown like, no, we have our price for certain guys, really role players.
13:27I feel like you're a run first player. If you're a role player, you're not going to like Jelani
13:32Tobias kind of in between. Cause he is more of an early down player, but he is good in coverage.
13:36He does give you some pass rush. So I understand giving him the extension, but those other guys,
13:41it's like, no, I understand what they're doing because those are just guys who are more rotational
13:46versus like cornerstones who are consistently making those impact plays. Cause again, even
13:50gotcha as good as he is against the run. He's not Anthony Jennings where Anthony Jennings is
13:54getting you tackles for loss. He's getting stopped. Like the stat sheet is favorable
13:59and gotcha. I even said in the tweet where he's like, yeah, a lot of what I do doesn't show up in
14:02the stat sheet. That's valuable in some schemes into a certain degree. But you know, if you're
14:07going to be paying somebody, like you said, at Oliver money, you got to show up on the statute
14:11as well. And that just might not be gotcha game. Yeah. And you can't, like you said before you
14:16can't, it's hard to bridge that difference. And that's where I think that's where the difference
14:22is. I look with Jude on, I, I don't, I don't think it's the valuation of his play. I think
14:28it's the structure of the deal that's to hold up. And that's, you know, saying, I think that's
14:32the difference in, in those two players, but Jude on is when you think is going to get done.
14:37I think it's going to get done because I think it's more about the structure of the deal
14:40than the valuation of his play. So it's one of those, it's really just wait and see,
14:44they got to do the behind the scenes work, but it's not, they have until
14:51they really have until what the, if he's going to hold in that, he could hold in. All right.
14:57But they, they get to July 20, they like to get everything done by July 24th. All right.
15:02So what's, what are we less than a week away? We'll see what happens. I mean, if,
15:09okay. I'll, I wouldn't be surprised. I get a deal done this week. No, but before the 24th,
15:15I'd be surprised. They get a deal done with gotcha. I would be surprised. And I folks,
15:19I don't re yeah. I'll be surprised because I think it's more, like I said before,
15:23and I hate to repeat myself. Judon's about the structure of the deal.
15:26Gotcha is about the valuation of the play. And that's a big difference.
