00:00In Venezuela, Andrinidad and Tobago signed energy agreements to strengthen their cooperation.
00:06Both countries signed the Seven Agreements Act with the approval of the functional structure
00:11for the operation in the Manikin and Coquina fields of the Deltana platform off the Venezuelan coast.
00:18The agreement establishes licenses for U.S. and European companies
00:22to join in the exploration and exploitation of gas and other hydrocarbons.
00:27The event was headed by President Nicolás Maduro,
00:30who ratified Venezuela's own formula for development and the emerging energy cooperation in the region.
00:36International oil companies have been gradually returning to Venezuela in recent years,
00:41despite the sanctions and blockade by the U.S. government.
00:51We re-engineered our brain, our mind, our plans,
00:54and, at that precise moment, we resumed negotiations with Trinidad and Tobago to look for our own formula,
01:12where these economic projects, which have an important impact on the economy of Trinidad and Tobago
01:17and of Venezuela because of the income we are going to obtain,
01:21would be viable within the framework of sovereign,
01:33independent, friendly, good neighborly relations.
01:36We are taking a monumental step in the right direction,
01:39and I would say that we are on the right side of history.
01:42The new world that is emerging belongs to us.
01:46The Minister of Energy and Energy Industries of Trinidad and Tobago, Stuart Young,
01:51ratified his government's willingness to defend the sovereignty of both nations.
01:58I congratulate you on behalf of the people of Trinidad and Tobago,
02:02and I thank you on behalf of the people of Trinidad and Tobago.
02:07Once again we have shown the world what happens when two brotherly countries work together
02:12in difficult times and defend what is right and defend the sovereign rights of two countries,
02:17and I promise you, Mr. President, on behalf of the people of Trinidad and Tobago
02:24and on behalf of Dr. Rowlett, Prime Minister of the Republic,
02:28that we will guarantee the people of Venezuela and Trinidad and Tobago
02:32that there will be benefits from this project.
02:35For his part, the Venezuelan Minister of Oil, Pedro Teixeira,
02:39highlighted the contribution of the joint binational work
02:42for the development of both countries despite the limitations.
02:50So for Venezuela, for Trinidad and Tobago,
02:53today is a day of victory and blessing for both peoples
02:56and demonstrating to the world that we can continue working with each other
02:59with the signature of our VIP company, with the signature of Trinidad and Tobago.
03:03We demonstrate that despite some limitations and adversities,
03:07we always achieve peace, union and unify the criteria for the growth of Venezuela.
