00:00Despite the gorgeous view, the home sits on a lot that was empty for nearly 40 years.
00:08There are times that you look at a neighborhood like this and think that, much like containers,
00:12maybe this neighborhood has passed its useful life, that maybe there's other things and
00:16other places to invest.
00:17But it only takes one or two families to start changing the tide a little bit and showing
00:22that there is something possible here.
00:26And thank you for bringing me back out here.
00:27I didn't really look at it enough the first time.
00:29It's by a Fresno-based artist, Robert Armador.
00:33It's called La Estrella de Norte.
00:37That's the North Star.
00:38So it's a strong female figure with somewhat of a flower shape and then a number of monarch
00:43butterflies.
00:44St. Louis is part of the migratory pathway of monarchs on their way down to Mexico.
00:49It's absolutely beautiful.
00:51And is it received well with the neighborhood?
00:53It is received well.
00:54And it's, I would say, this mural is very Instagramable.
00:57It's a great way for people to enter into the neighborhood, experience it a little bit.
01:01And you think of a butterfly, right?
01:03It's the cycle of life, right?
01:04From a chrysalis to a butterfly.
01:06It's about renewal.
01:07And so it's a nice image of renewal.
01:08And this is a neighborhood of renewal.
