00:09Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh has urged the public

00:12not to turn the demolition of an illegal structure

00:15into an issue of race or sports.

00:18In a video which has gone viral,

00:20a crowd was seen protesting the demolition of a building located

00:23next to the Taman Sri Sinar Community Hall in Segambut.

00:27Some netizens claimed that it was used as a karate training ground

00:30and others had called on Yeoh to intervene.

00:33According to Yeoh's Facebook post,

00:35the Kuala Lumpur City Hall had been trying to reclaim management

00:38of the hall for nearly a year.

00:41However, she said their efforts have been met with resistance,

00:44despite DBKL and the Federal Territories Land and Mines Office

00:48having issued multiple notices asking the operator to vacate the property.

00:53Yeoh, who is also Segambut MP, said

00:55the operator even commenced new work to expand the illegal structure.
