00:00No, Trent Williams is out of sight, out of mind, Brandon Aiyuk's there, what's the difference?
00:04Here's what Matt Barrows had to say, Goo.
00:07There were a couple instances where Brandon Aiyuk is out there, he's watching from the
00:11sideline, and John Lynch kind of walks over and either kind of takes him to the spot where
00:17John watches practice, or in one instance I watched this, he kind of takes him all the
00:22way back into the team headquarters.
00:24So I guess that could be a sense that they'd rather have him out of sight when he's around.
00:32The other part of it is that there's this ridiculous notion that he arrived with a neck
00:37and a back issue, and that's why he's not practicing, not because of any contract, that's
00:41officially why he's not practicing.
00:43So maybe that's what's annoying Shanahan, that if you're here, if you're healthy, if
00:49we're dealing with all sorts of real injuries at wide receiver, and they are, you ought
00:55to be back out here, you're under contract, you should be practicing with your team.
00:59That's interesting to me.
01:01My neck and my back.
01:03Wow, man.
01:05I mean, there's just no way his ass would be out there practicing with this stalemate
01:11that they're at.
01:12But in a possible trade, if that's real, and it seems like it's really real, like a possibility,
01:18ostensibly he's not practicing right now because of a neck and a back.
01:23That's what Matt Barrows was saying, the official reason is.
01:27Well, and it also sounds like Kyle Shanahan feels the same way from that comment that
01:33Mark Schliereth did a week ago, when you were outside, he came on, and Stinkin' Truth podcast,
01:40courtesy of Odyssey, but he said basically it's chicken bleep what Ayuk is doing.
01:45Either hold out, or show up and practice.
01:49And I think that's where Kyle Shanahan might be peeved, is if, if you're going to hold
01:52out, then just hold out.
01:53Right.
01:54But if you're going to be around.
01:55Don't be a sideshow.
01:56Be on the field.
01:57Yeah.
01:58And that actually, taking it a step further, because I think you're right on the money,
02:01is that's why, John, that's why if Ayuk's overstanding with the receivers, talking,
02:09laughing, just there, even just being there.
02:15It does explain why John Lynch would be like, hey, Brandon, come over with me.
02:18Watch with me.
02:19How come?
02:20Because we don't want you around the players right now.
02:22You ain't playing.
02:23Well, trade me.
02:24No, get healthy.
02:26888-957-9570.
02:27Like, all this fascinating stuff that is coming out, I do think it all means something.
02:40The funny thing is, is that the hug talked about round the world last week, right?
02:47Maybe it did mean something.
02:49Maybe it did irk Shanahan.
02:51And he was messing with him.
02:53Maybe.
02:54Maybe.
02:55Let's go to Matt.
02:56Matt's in Sunnyvale.
02:57Hey, Matt, how you doing, man?
02:58Yo, what's going on, guys?
02:59Hey.
03:00Just wanted to jump in again on this Ayuk talk, man.
03:09Yeah, so if the reports that are coming out are that Pittsburgh lowballed San Francisco,
03:15you've got to keep them here.
03:16If it's a third rounder, I mean, they're all grown men, right?
03:21I mean, they all know it's a business.
03:22There's nothing personal.
03:23I think VA wants to be here, and San Francisco wants VA.
03:28I think there's a good relationship outside of these contract talks.
03:33If they end up having to franchise tag him, or at least a non-exclusive franchise tag
03:39him, and he signs an offer sheet somewhere else, they're going to get two first round
03:43picks anyways for him at the end of next season.
03:47So there's no way you've got to sell low here.
03:49I think you've got to.
03:50And if he doesn't like it, I mean...
03:54Yeah, no, we get to, man, we get to, like, wow, man.
03:59Wow, what?
04:00I just, I got mad on Monday because people were using adjectives to describe Brandon
04:06Ayuk, saying he was being immature, and this and that, and I was fired up on social media.
04:10Who cares?
04:11But I was like, that's not fair.
04:13But now I'm doubling back to if New England really offered this man $32 million to play
04:19football from the 14, and you don't want to go, then I'm starting to lose ammunition on
04:27having your back in regard, well, son, what do you want?
04:31You can't have everything.
04:34So does he want $32 million or $30 million in a Niner uniform and get Justin Jefferson
04:39targets?
04:40Well, let me tell you something, son, pull up a chair.
04:43Life does not work like that.
04:44And obviously the Niners don't feel like he's worthy of the $30 million from them, if that's
04:50what he's asking.
04:51I guess, Donnie, I don't know what's going to make Brandon happy.
04:57I thought I knew, and he would be a Patriot if it was just about the chicken.
05:02Yeah, it seems like that.
05:05You can't have it all.
05:06The other thing, but the other thing with the Patriots report is I'm not like, okay,
05:13let's say the Patriots, the report is they were willing to pay Ayuk $32.
05:17Why would they?
05:18Okay.
05:19Well, they still, so you said, why would they pay him $32?
05:23I'll take it a step further.
05:24Why would they pay him $32 and give up something?
05:29So it's not like, I'm skeptical of, they had a deal with the Patriots, but Brandon said
05:36no.
05:39Because I'm not convinced the 49ers were ready to accept a trade, the compensation for what
05:48they were getting for Ayuk.
05:49So it goes back to team and players seem like they don't want to part ways and they keep
05:55saying it's about the compensation, but starting a crazy way, maybe they need a, was that Samuel
06:01Jackson, the negotiator?
06:02They need somebody in between.
06:05Parag Murata.
06:06Well, he's got to get busy.
06:08He's been busy all summer running Manchester or Leeds.
06:12They haven't talked since May.
06:14That's because he's, they need to be on the phone last night.
06:17English Premier League starting soon.
06:19Right Spadone?
06:20It's coming up real soon.
06:22Let's go to Herman.
06:23By the way, technically Kevin Spacey was the negotiator.
06:26He was negotiating with Sam Jackson.
06:29It's just, no, we can fight right now.
06:33I'm not going to fight.
06:34He was in the movie.
06:35Fight with him.
06:36You fight with him.
06:37I have no idea.
06:38He was in the movie.
06:39I'm out of this one.
06:40No, he was in the movie.
06:41Yeah, I didn't say negotiator, played by, I said Samuel Jackson was in that movie.
06:46Yeah, count it Spadone.
06:49Say it to Evan.
06:50Say it to his face.
06:52Herm Edwards coached John Salmon, Brandon Ayoub.
06:56And hey Herm, I know you're not an NFL coach anymore, but what do you think about a hold
07:01in versus a hold out?
07:02So you got to know your players and you got to protect them from yourself.
07:06Every guy, when they hold out, you're not, you know, being around watching, it's not
07:10like practice.
07:11I've always said this about football.
07:12The grass knows when your football cleats have not been there.
07:15You can't lie to the grass with your shoes.
07:17Your cleats know.
07:18And when you don't, when you don't practice, this is a game of practice, this football
07:22thing.
07:23Because you think about it, you practice more than you play.
07:26You play 17 games, you practice three or four days a week.
07:30Are you kidding me?
07:32So, you know, you, you have to be a part of that.
07:34And when you're not, you can say, well, I can go out there.
07:36No, you can't because physically you're not ready to do that mentally you might be.
07:41So this is where you have to be very careful.
07:43We got to give them spurts, you know, you just got to play them a little bit here and
07:47give them a little rest.
07:48I am a little bit here until they get in football condition.
07:50Thanks.
07:51That's Herm Edwards.
07:52The grass is alive, Tony.
07:53It has a mind.
07:55River Islands guest line.
07:56The grass.
07:57It's time for you to discover the islands, River Islands.
07:59And where is it?
08:00It's in Lathrop.
08:01I love me some Herms.
08:03707 coming down Evans Road.
08:05Uh-oh.
08:06And everybody thinks Evans got the highest percentage of being correct.
08:12My boy Tone loves him some Evans.
08:14Sam Jackson's character was also a negotiator.
08:19According to the 707.
08:20Again, I just want the people to I'm a conduit.
08:22I'm a conduit.
08:23I'm not involved.
08:24I knew it.
08:25I just Evan.
08:26Yeah.
08:27He's going to Google.
08:28I love it as a member of the force space.
08:32He was the one they called him to negotiate this situation.
08:35That movie has been made like 12 times out the bucket, by the way, you know, that horse
08:39is behind from Jersey Shore still refers to himself as the situation.
08:45So do you have any idea what I'm talking about?
08:48No.
08:49Reality TV is not my thing.
08:51You don't remember the situation and and and schnuckie you don't remember.
08:58I had to watch it.
09:00It gave there's nothing that gave New Jersey more of a bad name than the show Jersey Shore.
09:06It was a farce.
09:08It was unrealistic.
09:10It wasn't even close to what the New Jersey Shore is really like.
09:15And quite frankly, I was sick of it.
09:16But that's where the money's at now, Stiney.
09:19Reality TV, the Kardashians.
09:22Somebody wants to know, hey, goo, I'm going to double your salary as a radio personality
09:27right now.
09:28But we need you to go to Alaska to do the show.
09:31Are you doing it?
09:32Fairbanks isn't bad.
09:33I would.
09:34We're not going to send you to Nome.
09:40That's really northern Alaska.
09:41All right.
09:42I wouldn't go.
09:43It's not worth it.
09:44I've been watching a show called Below Zero.
09:48It's about life in the bush.
09:49They follow three.
09:50Stop.
09:51I can hear.
09:52Stop.
09:53Raising.
09:54Crack the mics.
09:55But that that laugh had to be heard.
10:00So they have they have a couple who lives in a place called Eagle, which is like a hundred
10:08miles south of the Arctic Circle.
10:10Gosh, why?
10:11They got this one dude who lives in Norvig, which is right at the Arctic Circle.
10:17And then they have this woman who works at a supply station in I think it was called
10:22Cavica, Cavica.
10:24And what are they?
10:25She's alone like eight months a year.
10:29Why?
10:30Because it's it's a it's it's a supply station.
10:34It's a weather station.
10:35Why are we filming it?
10:37Who does that interest?
10:39I'm fascinated by it.
10:41It is unbelievable.
10:42Why?
10:43That's all.
10:44Because it's fascinating.
10:45These people are living.
10:46What part?
10:47No life.
10:48No friends.
10:49No action.
10:50No happy hour.
10:51That's what's fascinating.
10:52They live in the Arctic.
10:53Yeah.
10:54Well, there there is a bush.
10:58That was that will that was forever.
11:01For those that don't know.
11:02And then for the others who are infantile, that's 98 percent.
11:07In Alaska, if you don't live in Fairbanks or you don't live in Juneau and you live outside
11:14those cities, they call it living in the bush.
11:18Hmm.
11:19Well, you guys, I can't keep doing show.
11:22I did it last week.
11:25What did you do last week?
11:26Took some heat for my lexicon.
11:28It's just like, can we grow up at the summit?
11:32Remember the summit Rogers and what was that?
11:37What the summit?
11:38Yeah.
11:39Oh, I had a friend.
11:40Roger.
11:41Oh, let's go to Roger in Santa Rosa.
11:43Roger.
11:44Hey, what's going on?
11:45First time calling.
11:46You've been here.
11:47You got to talk about.
11:48Hey, Roger.
11:49Roger.
11:50Roger.
11:51You've got to call back that Alaska connection right on because I've got a big soft spot
12:00for Santa Rosa, as you all know.
12:02You followed my career religiously.
12:06That's where I started my Bay Area journalism career.
12:10Roger.
12:11Roger.
12:12That's true.
12:13Seven.
12:14Oh, seven.
12:15The woman who lives in the Arctic Circle has her foxes.
12:16She's got pet foxes.
12:18Back to the niners.
12:19But I got to give you this.
12:21If you have an espadoni, I asked all three of you get one guess.
12:25How many films is the great Samuel Jackson appeared in?
12:28What would your answer be?
12:29The closest wins.
12:30And that's done.
12:31Take 10 minutes.
12:33Wins what?
12:34Just don't matter.
12:35You get it.
12:36Come on.
12:37You like trivia.
12:3862.
12:39All right, Evan.
12:40110.
12:41Espadoni?
12:42Just shout out a number.
12:43It doesn't matter.
12:4450.
12:45Evan wins.
12:46100.
12:47On the dot.
12:48Cameos don't count.
12:49110 by Evan, the winner.
12:5062.
12:51How many did he have a line in?
12:52See, that's the beauty of you.
12:53He's had a line in everyone.
12:54Anyway, 100.
12:55Check his IMDB page.
12:57He talked to people off the ledge in that movie.
12:58I had it right.
12:59Gotcha.
13:00No, you didn't.
13:01Dude, somebody's saying from 307.
13:02Find out where the 307 is.
13:03I wonder if that is Alaska.
13:04I'm going to say Florida.
13:05He says, Goo, Alaska is awesome.
13:06You're a hunter.
13:07You can double what you make now.
13:08And the taxes, there are none.
13:09You got to go, man.
13:10It's Wyoming.
13:11It's Wyoming.
13:12It's Wyoming.
13:13It's Wyoming.
13:14It's Wyoming.
13:15It's Wyoming.
13:16It's Wyoming.
13:17It's Wyoming.
13:18It's Wyoming.
13:19It's Wyoming.
13:20It's Wyoming.
13:21It's Wyoming.
13:22It's Wyoming.
13:23It's Wyoming.
13:24It's Wyoming.
13:25It's Wyoming.
13:26It's Wyoming.
13:27It's Wyoming.
13:28It's Wyoming.
13:29It's not Wyoming.
13:30307 is Wyoming.
13:31Oh, okay, gotcha.
13:32Okay, gotcha, gotcha.
13:34Rickson Sunnyvale.
13:35Hey, Rick.
13:36How you doing?
13:37Hey, how's it going, guys?
13:39Doing well.
13:40Hey, I just got a quick question.
13:43I mean, it's pretty clear that the Niners are not...
13:48have been going all-in for this season.
13:52But if they did, they would have paid IUK and Trent and just said, you know, we'll deal
13:57with everything else that happens after this coming season.
14:02When we pay Brock, we're going to have not as good of a cast either way.
14:06So I don't know why they didn't just go all in and just go for one last ride.
14:11You know what?
14:12That's, I think that's a fair question.
14:13But are we at the last, go ahead, no, no, but are we at the last dance?
14:17What are we talking about?
14:18But if, but to me, the caller has a point.
14:22What all in would mean to me is you pay these guys, whatever, not whatever, but whatever
14:29you all in is they're here.
14:32All in would be they're paid and here.
14:35Yes.
14:36So they're not right.
14:38So if party's getting 65 and nobody wants to call him with like, that's just, well,
14:43that's what we're acting like.
14:44Well, we don't know that yet.
14:45That's pushed out.
14:47To me, I mean, Purdy's money's irrelevant to what you can pay these guys this year,
14:52but I think he's hit with what the caller's saying is even if, even if Brandon IU starts
14:59practicing next week and Trent shows up for the opener, you didn't go all in because going
15:06all in would have meant those guys were here right off the bat, getting the work in.
15:10They should at the start of the season, start a training camp.
15:14And even by paying them, although it's late, you hurt yourself just like you did with Bosa
15:20last year.
