PAGASA warns storm-enhanced ‘habagat’ may bring heavy rains to S. Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao

00:00For now, our southwest monsoon is flowing here in Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.

00:07Because of this, we expect to experience continuous rainfall here in Palawan, Occidental Mindoro,

00:15Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Sok Sarjean, and also here in Bangsamoro.

00:23We also expect to experience continuous rainfall here in Visayas and Mindanao,

00:28just like the southwest monsoon.

00:31Let's update on the storm that we are watching outside our Philippine Area of Responsibility

00:36with an international name, Bibingka.

00:39This is a category of severe tropical storm and it is the last to pass

00:43in the 1,885-kilometer-east line of Northern Luzon.

00:48According to our forecast track, this will enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility

00:53tomorrow afternoon or evening.

00:55We will name this as 4D.

00:57It will only stay inside our park for a while and it will also leave by Saturday.

01:02But we also expect this to be an enhancement of the southwest monsoon

01:07so that we will also experience continuous rainfall, especially here in Visayas and Mindanao.

01:13But also because of this, we expect that in this trough of Bibingka or the extension,

01:18we will also experience continuous rainfall here in Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region,

01:26Central Luzon, and also here in the deep part of Mimaropa, and also in Quezon and Aurora.

01:33For Metro Manila and the deep part of Luzon,

01:36we expect that the weather will be clear and that there will be a high chance of rain

01:42in the afternoon and evening due to localized thunderstorms.
