00:00And, uh, you know, the American League MVP for a lot of people feel like it's an open
00:07and shut case that Aaron judge is going to win the MVP regardless of how many times he
00:12gets walked down the stretch. He has 42 home runs on the season. He is minus 1500 right
00:18now to win the award. Uh, Bobby Wood jr's numbers are off the charts. Incredible. And
00:25if there was a one a MVP, it would be him. Uh, it's harder to be in Kansas city than
00:31it is in New York. We know that it's now a two player race at this point, but which numbers
00:36at the end of the year matter are going to look as good as any MVPs ever had. Is he just
00:40playing the wrong season and having these numbers? And that's what it feels like. You
00:44know, you'll hear a lot of, well, it was an MVP caliber season. Even if a guy doesn't
00:49win it that year, that couldn't be more true of the season wits having. And you know, you
00:55try to think, well, does he have a chance? What would it take? Well, unfortunately it
01:00would probably take an injury to Aaron judge, which no one wants to see, or, uh, you know,
01:05something just a catastrophic slump. That's highly unlikely to happen when you're not
01:09seeing any pitches to hit anyway. But you know, it's funny when you look at some of
01:13the advanced numbers, like you look at the fan grass war, you look at the baseball reference
01:17war. I mean, it is pretty much neck and neck. There isn't a wide chasm and you know, people
01:24might be wondering, well, how's that possible? Well, it's because of the defense and how
01:28much wit makes up in defense. Uh, and that's not to say he's not having an unbelievable
01:33offensive season. So if you ask me, is there a chance? I do think there's a chance, a very
01:39small one because let's face it at the end of the day, MVP voters were always going to
01:43look at the, uh, we're going to look at the offensive numbers, home runs still rule. It
01:47doesn't matter how much we try to say, uh, that other numbers might matter just as much.
01:53But, you know, I think for wit to even be in the conversation, he has to hit some benchmarks.
01:58He's probably going to do the hundred hundred with runs and ribby, certainly on pace for
02:02that. I think 30, 30 would go a long way. Uh, I don't know if he can get there in home
02:06runs. He'll be probably pretty close. I think over three 50 with his average, which he could
02:11certainly do over 400 with his OVP, just some nice little benchmarks that look a little
02:16better when, you know, judges benchmarks are obviously going to be going to be eye popping.
02:21And of course, Kansas city has to make the playoffs too. I think that's a, that's a,
02:25that's a key part to this as well, which right now they're in position to do.
02:29But even if he hits all those, I think it's judges award to lose for sure.
