00:00Thanks for joining me for your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:04For most of us, a fine weekend looms large.
00:08Not too hot, not too chilly, most places dry with some sunny spars.
00:12I say most places, there's always one or two exceptions, and northwest Scotland will see showers
00:16certainly through the night, so we'll keep them going here. Actually, it's ending quite windy through the night
00:20as well, so a pretty boisterous night across northern Scotland.
00:24But elsewhere, most places dry, the wind's certainly a lot lighter across England and Wales.
00:28And we've introduced fresher air as well, so a more comfortable night.
00:32Temperatures may hold up in the mid-teens across parts of the extreme east,
00:36but for most places, we'll be down at 11 or 12 Celsius, and some rural spots
00:40down into single figures, so I say quite a bit cooler than it has been.
00:44On to the details for Saturday. Many places dry and fine,
00:48certainly to start with plenty of sunshine. There will be a bit more cloud over northwest England
00:52initially, northern Ireland, and even central and southern Scotland.
00:56There will be a few showers here. It's not going to be completely dry, but they should tend to move through
01:00on a fairly brisk wind, and they shouldn't be too heavy as well.
01:04We'll keep some showers going over northern Scotland, where it'll also stay fairly windy.
01:08It's going to be quite significant, that wind, if you're up on the mountains across Scotland.
01:12Quite a significant wind chill here through the day. But further south,
01:16the winds are pretty light. Yes, some cloud will bubble up. It's not one of those blue sky
01:20all day days, but there will still be some good spirals of sunshine,
01:24and it'll feel quite warm in that sunshine. Temperatures pretty close to average
01:28over central and eastern parts. That means low 20s, maybe 24 in the
01:32London. Further north and further west, temperatures more likely to be in the high
01:36teens, but get out of the wind, it'll feel fairly pleasant. Those winds, though,
01:40still fairly brisk over northern Scotland, so difficult to avoid
01:44the cooler feel here, with more showers coming in during Saturday evening.
01:48For most, it will be a fine and dry Saturday evening, with
01:52again, clear skies allowing those temperatures to dip down in rural spots
01:56into single figures, towns and cities staying in double digits.
02:00Sunday's a similar day, actually. Again, most places starting dry and sunny.
02:04Probably not as much cloud over northwest England to begin Sunday, and
02:08even fewer showers on Sunday. Still some coming across northern Scotland.
02:12Still a bit breezy here, but for most, it's a fine day on Sunday
02:16with some decent spirals of sunshine. And again, temperatures high teens
02:20across the north and on western coasts. Elsewhere further south, mostly
02:24climbing into the 20s, with a peak somewhere around London, 23 or 24
02:28degrees Celsius. So temperatures close to average, a lot of fine and sunny
02:32weather to be had. Keep up to date with all the details as we go into
02:36next week by following us on social media, and if you're watching this on YouTube
