00:00And just on Everton, I mean, a lot's going on, you know, you had a great spell there as well.
00:07A lot's going on in terms of their situation financially.
00:10And, you know, the last few years, they've been nowhere near the sort of standards that they were.
00:15And it's been a bit of a fall off. They're obviously going to the new stadium next year as well.
00:20What are your thoughts on what they've been through, what they're going through?
00:24You know, they've come a long way, but it's sort of really something that a lot of Evertonians don't want to be.
00:35A bit of a shame, really, for Everton. What are your thoughts on that?
00:38Yeah, absolutely. I mean, you know, just there's been a lot of mismanagement.
00:42I think off the field, there's been mismanagement and certainly on the field as well.
00:45There's been a lot of money spent on players that, you know, in my opinion, aren't good enough for Everton Football Club.
00:51You know, the last three or four years have been really, really, five, six years have been heavy spending by the club.
00:57You know, and not that many of the players that the big money was spent on have been wise investments.
01:03And, you know, we always talk about recruitment and recruitment's the most important thing in football.
01:08You've got to get the signings right. Obviously, off the field, you know, there's been all the well-publicized problems.
01:15You know, obviously, the points deductions and that.
01:17I think there's a chance of another points deduction coming up as well, which won't help things.
01:21Disappointing start to the season as well. I haven't seen the highlights yet. I haven't had time.
01:25But, you know, obviously, losing at home to Brighton is not a good start for the season.
01:30And, you know, I think it's just so important that come the end of this season that Everton Football Club give Goodison Park the send-off it deserves, really.
01:39You know, it's a fantastic stadium. It's a historic stadium. It's been down for years and years.
01:43I had a great time. All my goals were scored there. And, you know, I want to see the stadium being given the send-off it deserves.
01:50And the one thing we don't want is give the stadium a good send-off and then, of course, be playing Championship football in, you know, in Bramley Dock next year.
01:57That doesn't do anyone any favours, you know. So, it's a bit of a mess, I've got to be honest.
02:02It's got to be sorted out. They need to take over to go through whoever the new owners might be.
02:07They need that as quick as possible. And you need, you know, just as importantly, if not more importantly, the players on the pitch have got to step up and get the results.
02:14They've got a good manager. Sean Dicey's a good man, good manager. And, you know, I'm confident they'll stay up.
02:20But I do think it's going to be another rollercoaster season for Everton, which no one wants to see that.
02:25We want to see Everton, you know, doing what West Ham have done over the last three or four seasons, which is pushing and playing in Europe, really.
02:31And, you know, there's a lot that needs to be sorted out, but I'm confident they'll get there eventually.
02:36Tony, I think that'll do. Obviously, I just asked you about the Everton because I spoke to, I speak to a journalist who does...
