00:00Good evening. A drier evening to come but it will turn wetter from the south by
00:05tomorrow morning after the pretty disruptive start this morning thanks to
00:08Storm Lillian. The winds are slowly starting to ease but showers will
00:13continue for many northwestern areas. These could turn quite heavy as well but
00:17as we head into the early hours of Saturday we look to the south as this
00:20band of potentially quite torrential rain pushes into many southern counties.
00:24A lot of cloud ahead of that area of rain as well filling in across parts of
00:28Wales and many areas into northern England as well. Clearer to the north
00:32across Northern Ireland and the far north of Scotland here will be a
00:35slightly fresher start but also a brighter start to the day so the best of
00:38any drier weather across more northern areas tomorrow morning as a rain morning
00:43is enforced across eastern areas of southern England and that will last
00:47until lunchtime before that main area of rain clears away to the east. But behind
00:51it there's a risk of some very heavy potentially thundery showers breaking
00:55out across parts of Wales, the Midlands and then into the southeast later on in
00:59the day. There could also be some quite heavy showers across the far west of
01:02Scotland as well as parts of Northern Ireland but for many areas of northern
01:06England the west of Wales, parts of southwest England it will be a drier
01:10afternoon but temperatures still pretty disappointing for this time of year at
01:14the high teens at best for most of us. Now across at Saturday evening showers
01:18will continue across the far north but for many areas they'll tend to fade away
01:22so it's going to be a clearer and drier night for the bulk of England and Wales.
01:25Different story for Northern Ireland as the next batch of rain arrives here by
01:29Sunday morning but with clearer skies for many areas elsewhere it will be a
01:34fresher night but that does mean it's going to be a sunnier start to Sunday. I
01:38think the best of the sunshine through Sunday will be in the morning in fact
01:41particularly across eastern areas as this area of rain spreads across from
01:45Northern Ireland into many western areas particularly parts of southwestern
01:49Scotland. There could be some localised disruption due to the recent rainfall
01:53across these areas and much of the rest of the UK will see cloud build in
01:58through Sunday afternoon so definitely a sunnier start to the day. There's also
02:01going to be a fairly brisk breeze through Sunday as well but it's a
02:04southwesterly wind so temperatures will be up just a little bit but I think it's
02:09still going to feel fairly cool for this time of the summer. Then as we look
02:14ahead to the rest of the bank holiday weekend, Monday actually looks much
02:18drier more widely across the UK and then next week looks like it'll turn more
02:23widely warmer but you can find more details on your forecasts on our YouTube
02:26channel. See you soon, bye bye.
