00:00Paris Olympics bronze medalist, Ira Villegas, was warmly welcomed by her fellow countrymen in Tacloban City.
00:08And not only did she receive compliments, but also various gifts including a house and land.
00:15Sol Alarcon of PIA Eastern Visayas was at the center of the news.
00:20The inspiration of the athletes in Eastern Visayas is Paris Olympic bronze medalist, Ira Villegas of Tacloban City.
00:28From her success in the Paris Olympics, she was also welcomed by the heroes.
00:33And there were surprise gifts from House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez,
00:37Tingguk Party List Representative Yeda Marie Romualdez, and Tacloban Mayor Alfred Romualdez.
00:42Also included were 6.5 million house and lot, 1.4 million Mitsubishi expander car,
00:48and cash incentives from the City Government of Tacloban.
00:51The visually impaired athlete, Edmar Artilio of Ormoc City Leyte, was also welcomed.
00:58According to Artilio, he is happy with Villegas' success and he wants to imitate it to help his family.
01:05I am proud of him and I am happy that he is the inspiration of the athletes in Eastern Visayas.
01:14Aside from two gold medals in running and long jump competitions, Artilio also won a bronze medal in shot put.
01:22According to him, he participated in the games to show his talent even though he is disabled.
