Watch: Cobden netballer Nadine McNamara on 2024 Hampden league qualifying final win
Transcript
00:00Thanks for joining us Nadine, the performance at the start of the final to win against Coroa, how are you feeling?
00:05Tired is the first word that comes to mind. No, it was an absolute grind of a game so we're really pleased to come away with the win.
00:12And it was topsy-turvy, what did you think you guys did well to get on top of that?
00:16Yeah, really tough conditions today in a game that's so windy we have to play short and Coroa do such an amazing job of putting that defensive pressure on to limit those short options.
00:25So I thought in times we were throwing long balls and they were getting intercepted by Coroa but I think in the last half we did a really good job of consolidating and having more options to the ball, better angles and making better choices with our pass selection.
00:38And Coroa had the better of you in the home intercept play season twice, what does it mean to get a win over them this time?
00:43Yeah it's great, any win in finals is a good win and to retain that double chance for next week is amazing for us and we'll take confidence out of today's win that they've been better than us the past two times but we can match it with them.
00:56And was there anyone you thought stood out today?
00:58I think everyone did their part and I think girls excelled in certain parts of the game. I think Jamie Finch was really consistent for us at goal attack, I think she provided lots of options on transition and I thought Jess Weeding got a couple of intercepts when we really needed in that last quarter which were helpful to get the scores on the board.
01:14Alright well best of luck against South next week.
01:15Thanks so much.
