00:00A new episode of The Braxtons starts now.
00:03Wow!
00:06So, Tae, what are you working on these days?
00:08What are you excited about?
00:09I am wrapping up my album.
00:13I haven't put out an album since...
00:14Bluebird?
00:15How long ago was that?
00:16Five years ago?
00:18I'm so nervous about it.
00:20Look who I have!
00:24What's been going on?
00:25You know, we'll do a divorce.
00:27We've all been concerned about Kevin.
00:28We just need to let him know ASAP
00:30that he doesn't have to go through this alone.
00:33My father, he feels as though
00:35maybe she wasn't in her right mind and her will.
00:38Like, it was an influence on my mother's condition.
00:41She knew exactly what she was doing.
00:43About who she wanted to be her executor?
00:46It was me.
00:47It was you.
00:48She didn't want a funeral.
00:49She wanted to stay private for that part of her passing.
00:52But Tracy's husband decided to have a funeral anyway.
00:55He put it on the internet.
00:56She said,
00:57I don't want people to have to grieve that hard
01:01looking down on me.
01:02Think y'all maybe should talk to his dad?
01:04He chose what he wanted for himself personally
01:07over what she wanted.
01:09By no means
01:11do I ever want that individual
01:15to have any type of platform on our platform ever again.
01:21Don't push me.
01:26Well, yeah.
01:29Well, oh yeah.
01:33What he don't want me to do
01:35is really tell the truth.
01:37You see what I'm saying?
01:38Don't push me.
01:40And we did not go to her funeral.
01:42We did not attend
01:45that thing that he set up
01:47that she did not want.
01:49She said it.
01:50And she put it in her will
01:52that she did not want a funeral.
01:55Right.
01:56Are you kidding me?
01:57But you want him to be on a show?
02:00Never.
02:01I think that the audience and the fans
02:04need to understand that
02:06this platform is not for anyone else
02:11other than the people who respect Tracy's wishes.
02:14Y'all didn't want the scene to happen?
02:16Hell no.
02:17And it didn't happen?
02:18Good.
02:19So that's what we have.
02:20Will it happen?
02:21It won't happen.
02:22I always fought for Tracy.
02:24And I'm going to continue fighting for Tracy
02:26till the day I die.
02:27Absolutely.
02:28And beyond.
02:29There's so much.
02:31We didn't leave our sister.
02:34This situation is facts.
02:36When we did Braxton Family Values
02:38when we signed in 2009
02:40and then we came out in 2011
02:41everybody gave Tracy that
02:43they call her the wannabe.
02:45What have I said about you?
02:48That was her name.
02:49And then it was played upon
02:51is what I'm saying
02:52it was played upon
02:53and then it was fed.
02:55Okay, Trina.
02:56Let's put it down.
02:57Okay.
02:58I ain't worth sh** to y'all.
02:59That's what I feel.
03:00I'm not worth sh** to y'all.
03:02That's okay.
03:03Because of the choice that I made
03:04I felt, okay, Trina had a child
03:06way before me.
03:07She was pregnant.
03:08I got pregnant.
03:09Trina got to sing.
03:10I couldn't sing.
03:11But it was told to me
03:13I had to ask for Tracy.
03:14You make that decision.
03:15I'm the freak on.
03:18The whole time
03:19everybody has a narrative of
03:21we left Tracy behind.
03:23We signed without Tracy.
03:24Now that part is true.
03:26We did sign without Tracy.
03:27But the fact is this.
03:28We signed in August.
03:30Tracy was pregnant with little Kevin.
03:33Back in the 90s
03:35you could not be a female
03:37and be pregnant.
03:38And what they said is
03:39they want every woman
03:40to want to be like you
03:42and for every man
03:43to want to be with you.
03:44That was it.
03:45And honest to God
03:46me and Trina was like
03:47damn, we don't want to sign.
03:48Tracy was like, go ahead.
03:51So we signed it.
03:52It's true.
03:53So after that
03:54we toured with Luther.
03:55We didn't do the second half
03:57what got dad going Luther.
03:59Yeah.
04:00Because Tony said
04:01we were going to go overseas
04:03with her.
04:05So when it was time
04:06for being on that stage
04:07to perform
04:08guess who was there?
04:09Tracy.
04:12We left our sister.
04:14Get the f*** out of here.
04:15We left out
04:16and f*** no.
04:18Right.
04:19No f*** we left you.
04:20Oh no.
04:21It's not.
04:22Yes.
04:23Okay.
04:24I don't usually see Tawanda
04:25go off in that way.
04:27Actually
04:28Tawanda
04:29Tawanda's not that person
04:30like that.
04:32Cause
04:37This part of the narrative
04:38was never told.
04:39The truth was never told.
04:42Normally
04:43I wouldn't put our business
04:44out there.
04:45But our issues
04:46are always made public.
04:49So we wanted to clear them up.
04:51And this difference
04:52in opinion
04:53not even an opinion
04:54it's a fact
04:55because it was written
04:56about Tracy's funeral
04:57is just one example
04:58of how our family
04:59has had to defend
05:00itself publicly.
05:03And later on
05:04Tracy became
05:05a very successful
05:06solo artist and actress.
05:09And we were in her corner
05:10the entire time.
05:12You know
05:13I just want Tracy
05:14to be celebrated.
05:16Amen.
05:17She was funny
05:18independent
05:19and she was fighting.
05:20She was fighting every day.
05:22She fought
05:23until the very end.
05:24Very last breath.
05:25Amen.
05:29Rest in peace Tracy.
05:30Rest in peace Tracy.
05:41Cameras rolling.
05:43Eight cameras up.
05:45Everybody ready to rock?
05:53How you feeling tonight?
05:54Mad about feeling.
05:56I'm mad at the world.
05:57Yeah.
05:58I don't want to feel sad.
06:00I don't want to feel memories.
06:01Yeah.
06:02I don't want to feel nothing.
06:03You ever felt like that?
06:04Yeah.
06:05Yeah.
06:06That's how I feel.
06:07And I'm pissed
06:08because I have feelings.
06:10Yep.
06:11Yep.
06:12Tracy's birthday is
06:13this week.
06:14Of course I'm going to have
06:15feelings about it being
06:16my sister's birthday.
06:17It's only the second year.
06:19Back in 2020
06:20when we had our first session
06:21I talked to Tracy
06:22and I told her
06:23I had a session today
06:24with your sister.
06:25She's like nah
06:26my sister is super talented
06:27and she's super sweet.
06:29You better make some
06:30dope ass songs on her
06:31and you better treat her sweet
06:32or I'm going to kick your ass.
06:34She always talks about
06:35how much she loves you
06:36and the fact that
06:37Notice Me did what it did
06:38it's on purpose.
06:39This is her.
06:40That's her.
06:41I know you're tearing up.
06:42I see you.
06:45My single Notice Me
06:47going number one
06:48is very bittersweet.
06:50On one hand
06:51I'm excited
06:52about
06:53you know
06:54the success of my new record
06:56but on the other one
06:57I'm just so sad
06:59that my sister's not here.
07:01It's almost like
07:02I feel guilty about being happy
07:03because I don't want to be happy.
07:05I want to remember my sister
07:07and
07:08I don't know
07:09it's a lot.
07:11Walk Away
07:13Can I hear that?
07:14Yeah.
07:15Cause I'll just be going back
07:16and listen to stuff
07:17and see what I can change.
07:28Is this the live version?
07:34My next album
07:35is just a continuation
07:36of amazing R&B music
07:38but the good thing about
07:39the Love & War tour
07:40and the success of it
07:41is that
07:42every single night
07:43I got to pay homage to Tracy
07:45and her music
07:46that she started
07:47and didn't get a chance
07:48to finish.
07:50Every single night
07:51I play Last Call
07:52so everyone can be reminded
07:54of her journey musically.
07:56I don't want them
07:57to forget about that.
08:00When we had that call
08:01and you had
08:02had the person
08:03add the strings to it
08:04I um
08:05That wasn't me
08:06that was my baby daddy.
08:07He's still Vince.
08:08He still has one of the
08:09most magical ears.
08:10Now I don't know
08:11about everything else.
08:12It's really not my business.
08:13However
08:14there's not a record
08:15that I have
08:16that I don't play for him.
08:17When he and I
08:18called Notice Me
08:19we would walk around
08:20the house like this
08:21and play it.
08:23And just be walking
08:24around just like this.
08:25I swear to God
08:26he'll tell you.
08:27Where my phone at?
08:28Robin Thicke said
08:29something to me
08:30every time I see him
08:31he'd be like
08:32you know there's only
08:33a couple people ears
08:34that I trust.
08:35It's Andre Harrell
08:36that calls my husband
08:37that's five of me.
08:39What you got on my 40 homie?
08:41Where you at?
08:42I'm in the studio.
08:43Where's the studio?
08:44How do you know where I'm at?
08:46You don't have no
08:47GPS on me.
08:49I know the back wall
08:50that's in Atlanta.
08:51Yeah that's the studio.
08:52You don't know everything.
08:54Okay?
08:55First of all
08:56did you look at my page today?
08:57Look at my page right now.
08:58What's on your page?
08:59Vince you be on my page
09:00you be in my story
09:01all the time.
09:02Catch you in my story.
09:03I'll be in your story
09:04all the time.
09:05I catch you in my story
09:06all the time.
09:07I'm ready for you.
09:08How you feel?
09:09I don't feel anything today.
09:11Maybe tomorrow.
09:12You should be happy
09:13for yourself.
09:14You did this by yourself.
09:15No record labels
09:16all you.
09:17Congratulations.
09:18I'm very very proud of you.
09:19Very happy for you.
09:20Vince has and will always
09:22be an intricate part
09:23of my life.
09:24My parents did a great job
09:26at showing us that
09:28even if you are not
09:29still romantically involved
09:32with someone
09:33you can still
09:34have a respect for
09:36someone
09:37and come together
09:38for the right reasons.
09:39You can't just have
09:40one record out
09:41like we did 10 years ago.
09:42You got to work
09:43multiple records
09:44at one time.
09:45Stop being so nervous.
09:46You got this.
09:47Just put the music out.
09:48Right.
09:49Send me a cash app.
09:50No you send me a cash app.
09:54Bye.
09:56So Vince is
09:57a record company person
09:59and a manager.
10:00His conversations with me
10:01in regards to
10:02my records
10:03that I'm putting out
10:04is coming from
10:05that place.
10:06You know
10:07stop getting in your way.
10:08Artists think too much.
10:10You know
10:11just believe in the music
10:12that you make
10:13and put it out
10:14and step aside.
10:15So make sure we did
10:16our best to hurt each other.
10:17Make sure we did
10:18our best to hurt each other.
10:21Make sure we did
10:22make sure
10:23I can't hear
10:24because it's like
10:25a reverb.
10:26Alright.
10:27Make sure we did
10:28our best to hurt each other.
10:32What you think about that?
10:33I thought it was fine.
10:34I know you think
10:35it sounded good to me.
10:36For now.
10:37Because I didn't say
10:38I said
10:39for now.
10:40Yep.
10:41Go get that
10:42for now.
10:43It's okay to walk away
10:47for now.
10:51I like that one.
10:52Yep.
10:53Okay.
10:54I like that.
10:55I like that.
10:58Y'all don't know
10:59something about this Toni Braxton.
11:00She's funny as hell.
11:01Okay, guys.
11:02I have a joke.
11:04Boo!
11:05Boo!
11:06Boo, boo, boo!
11:07Please don't tell nobody
11:08you coming.
11:09I'm gonna try not to.
11:10Uh-uh.
11:11It's a surprise.
11:12Yes, it's a surprise.
11:13His father
11:14is seemingly thinking
11:15that she wasn't
11:16in her right mind.
11:19Some of these conversations
11:20should not be happening
11:21in front of my mother.
11:22That is her child.
11:25I'm just gonna do
11:27a little tribute
11:28to Trey.
11:29Trace would be so happy
11:30to see everyone.
11:32We were all in the living room
11:34with the hospice doctor.
11:37That's when I found out.
11:39At the time, you and Tracy
11:40were kinda at odds, though.
11:43Do you know something
11:44I don't know?
12:01Hey, Trey-nweeny.
12:04Your nails look nice.
12:07You're welcome.
12:08Thanks.
12:09Could not press ones either.
12:10They look nice.
12:11Can you talk to Mom and Tamar
12:12and tell them about what happened
12:13when we went to D.C.?
12:14Are you gonna wait for all of them?
12:15No, I'm just waiting
12:16for everything.
12:17What would you have changed?
12:19Hmm.
12:21I would have changed
12:22that I wasn't really able
12:23to sit and enjoy my crabs.
12:24Oh.
12:25I was thinking
12:26the same thing!
12:28Hey.
12:29Hey.
12:31Hey.
12:33Hey.
12:34What's poppin'?
12:35Hey, baby girl.
12:37You look like Easter.
12:39I'm excited to see
12:40Mommy and Tamar.
12:41But I haven't seen Tamar
12:43since we filmed Grief Counseling.
12:46Obviously, we're gonna have
12:47to meet with you again.
12:49Reconvene for what?
12:50Why you say that?
12:51Because I don't think
12:52we're open to receiving
12:53anything right now.
12:54But maybe she could talk
12:55to you individually.
12:56I went to Grief Counseling.
12:58Listen, I'm all here for
13:00advocating for
13:02a healthy mental health.
13:05It's always important
13:07to respect a person's boundary.
13:09However, I love my sister.
13:12Immensely.
13:13If she calls me,
13:14I'm gonna answer.
13:15If she texts me,
13:16I'm gonna answer.
13:17If she needs me,
13:18I'm gonna be there.
13:19And that's just a fact.
13:21Hmm.
13:23Hey, you.
13:24Look.
13:25Hey, look.
13:26Hey, girls.
13:27Hey.
13:28Are you gone already?
13:29I'm on my way to Marseille.
13:31Oh, Marseille.
13:32Nice.
13:33Eww.
13:34The south of France.
13:35Okay, I'm in France, okay?
13:37And I have a show,
13:38so I'm here for just a few days.
13:39But I have to be honest,
13:40I do miss my family
13:41and my sisters.
13:42And I remember when we
13:43would tour together.
13:44Tracy, too.
13:45And I've been thinking about her
13:46even more lately since her
13:48second heavenly birthday
13:50is coming up soon.
13:53Well, you enjoy yourself.
13:55Yes, have fun.
13:56Are you gonna visit
13:57the castles over there?
13:58No.
13:59I don't know.
14:00Trina said no.
14:02Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
14:04I'm different.
14:05I'm Trina.
14:06I'm gonna be different.
14:07I am not the fun police.
14:09I'm a need proof.
14:10I don't know what
14:11Trina's talking about.
14:12I just might get out there
14:14and tour a castle.
14:15Okay, there's a chance, however,
14:17that Trina is correct
14:18and I don't find the time.
14:20But, no,
14:21I am not the fun police.
14:23I am the fun headquarters.
14:26Woo!
14:27Funners.
14:28Funners.
14:29Funners.
14:30Oprah!
14:31What'd you say?
14:32Oprah.
14:33Okay.
14:34Uh-uh.
14:35Oprah.
14:36Oprah.
14:37Oprah.
14:38Oprah.
14:39You know that Oprah
14:40didn't say Oprah.
14:41I thought she said Oprah.
14:43Oprah.
14:44Okay, bye.
14:45Have fun.
14:46Have a safe flight.
14:47Bye, Tony.
14:48Have a good day.
14:49Bye.
14:51She bored.
14:52She the only one that
14:53when you say bye,
14:54she keep talking.
14:55Yes.
14:56Stay with it.
14:57Okay, so what happened?
14:59So we went to the DMV area
15:02to lay our eyes on Scratchy,
15:04you know,
15:05let him know that we're there
15:06to support him.
15:07And he was really,
15:08really happy to see us.
15:09So you didn't meet him
15:10at his house?
15:11He's not there.
15:12Oh, okay.
15:13Yeah.
15:14So, and he was talking about
15:15how he really wants his family
15:16around him right now.
15:18This is a really hard time
15:19and he's fighting for his wife.
15:21He's fighting for his marriage.
15:24He's confused about some stuff.
15:26And he said that his father
15:28is seemingly thinking
15:30that the will that Tracy
15:32put together,
15:33she wasn't in her right mind.
15:41Tracy knew exactly
15:42what she was doing.
15:43She did, yeah.
15:45And she knew that her son
15:47was gonna get some type of...
15:50Push back.
15:51She knew that.
15:52Because we talked about that.
15:55Me and Tracy talked about that.
15:57And I said,
15:58Tracy, do you think Kevin
16:00is strong enough
16:01to fight against his father?
16:03Guess what Tracy said?
16:05Mommy, this will give him
16:07some balls.
16:10That's what she said.
16:12My son have to grow up
16:14when it come to his daddy.
16:16Is this conversation
16:17too much for you?
16:18No, not too much for me at all.
16:20It's just that I remember
16:22the intimate times
16:23when we talked about it.
16:25You know what I mean?
16:26I said, well, you know
16:27what you're doing, baby girl.
16:28You do what you need to do.
16:31I just feel like
16:32some of these conversations
16:33should not be happening
16:34in front of my mother.
16:35Because you have to understand
16:36this is our sister,
16:37but that is her child.
16:40And as parents,
16:41we view things differently.
16:43There is no other side
16:45when it comes to our children
16:46and whatever has happened.
16:48And that's more pressure
16:49and stress to the parent.
16:51No.
16:53Well, Tracy's birthday
16:54is coming up soon.
16:55Yes!
16:57So what are we doing
16:58for her heavenly fun?
17:00I don't know.
17:01You know, she loves crabs.
17:03You want to have a crab feast?
17:05Yes!
17:06We should have a birthday party.
17:08Yes!
17:09That would be fun.
17:10That would be so much fun,
17:12you guys.
17:13I wish Denise could come.
17:14What's she up to?
17:15She can't come?
17:16I can see.
17:17I talked to her today
17:18and now we're here.
17:19I'll call her.
17:20Who?
17:21Denise.
17:22Denise.
17:23I initially met Denise
17:24when I was 12 years old.
17:25We went to college together
17:26and Tracy and Denise
17:27became really close.
17:28So when Tracy got sick,
17:29Denise was there
17:30every single day,
17:32every step of the way.
17:33I can call Denise
17:34to make sure she can come.
17:35She'll come.
17:36I hate to interrupt,
17:37but I'm not going
17:38to talk about Tracy,
17:39but...
17:40My single...
17:41Congratulations.
17:44Mwah.
17:46You broke down
17:47again.
17:48Again.
17:49You're in the heart.
17:50Congratulations.
17:52Yay.
17:54I was just crazy
17:55that I just thought about
17:56this driving up here.
17:57Even with all the drama
17:58that's like surrounding,
17:59you know,
18:00all the kind of Tracy stories.
18:01Like, there's amazing
18:02Tracy stories as well.
18:03Like, I feel like
18:04the way that Nya and I
18:05are coming together
18:06and making amazing music,
18:07like, I didn't know Nya
18:08and I had no idea
18:09that Nya was a good friend
18:10to Tracy's
18:11until Mommy told me.
18:12Mm-hmm.
18:13All of this time
18:14that they've known each other,
18:16he had been trying to,
18:17like, you know,
18:18get a break.
18:19And it just so happens
18:20that...
18:21Oh, I'm about to cry.
18:22That's all right.
18:23Good.
18:24It's healthy.
18:25It's okay.
18:26What you...
18:27Okay, go ahead.
18:28Get it out.
18:29Yeah.
18:30No, because you know
18:31when she shows up...
18:32Mm-hmm.
18:33You know.
18:34Mm-hmm.
18:35You know.
18:36Undoubtedly.
18:37And that's the truth.
18:38Mm-hmm.
18:39Mm-hmm.
18:40Mm-hmm.
18:41Mm-hmm.
18:42Mm-hmm.
18:43Mm-hmm.
18:45And I'm just so grateful,
18:47you know?
18:48Yeah, she shows up.
18:49Yeah, it's just...
18:50She does show up.
18:51It's like,
18:52even on the other side,
18:53she's just as kind.
18:55Mm-hmm.
18:56And look, it's all for people.
18:57Mm-hmm.
18:58Yeah.
19:00Yep.
19:03No, I'm just so grateful, like...
19:06I don't know.
19:08She's just dope like that.
19:15I am extremely blessed.
19:19Notice Me was one of the most incredible records
19:21that I've written in a long time,
19:23and I knew it was her showing up for people.
19:28And, you know, it was just a testament
19:30of who she was and who she still is today,
19:33that, you know, it doesn't have to be her family.
19:36If she loved you, if she cared about you,
19:37she's gonna always show up for you.
19:40All right, it's getting cold.
19:42It's 9 o'clock.
19:45The street lights is on.
19:47And Tamar needs to go home.
19:49I'll take care of the bill.
19:50We ain't drink nothing.
19:52You're the one that gotta drink.
19:53You should be taking care of the bill.
19:55Agreed.
20:00Tamar Braxton!
20:05All your dreams are coming true.
20:08But did you feel like it was at the cost
20:11of your marriage?
20:13Let me get the surprise.
20:15It's a surprise.
20:16Y'all gonna love it.
20:20Most of your sons are adamant about not having kids.
20:24I told them you need to take matters into your own hands.
20:27You told my children to get vasectomies?
20:29If they don't want kids, then yeah.
20:42Oh, my God.
20:43That was worse than mine.
20:45If I hit the bull's-eye, I get a grandbaby.
20:47My sons and Vaughn and I,
20:50we decided that we were gonna do something fun together
20:52as a family.
20:53And so we decided to go extra.
20:55Grandbaby for me.
20:58Grandbaby for me.
21:00Grandbaby for me.
21:02Grandbaby for me.
21:04Grandbaby for me.
21:06Grandbaby for me.
21:08Grandbaby for me.
21:10Grandbaby for me.
21:12Oh, man.
21:14Now, mind you,
21:16I don't have the best coordination in the world,
21:18and that's something that I can live with.
21:20Grandbaby.
21:21Oh.
21:23Yeah, okay.
21:29Okay, if Caleb hits the bull's-eye, I get a grandbaby.
21:32Oh, man.
21:34That was purposeful.
21:37Look at my babies.
21:38It's nice to see them hanging.
21:40Come and sit.
21:41Sure.
21:42Let's take a break from the axe throwing.
21:43Please.
21:44Get your beer. Do you want one?
21:47Eric doesn't drink.
21:49So what's this, you know, drinking for how long?
21:51For a year.
21:53You gonna make it?
21:54I'm three months in.
21:55You know, that's really good for your SC, though.
21:57What?
21:59Spark you.
22:00Oh.
22:01In that case,
22:02we want to get that as low as possible.
22:04It'll be two years married,
22:05and you guys have been together for seven
22:07and got married.
22:08Okay.
22:09So it's gonna be nine years.
22:11Where's my grandbaby?
22:13In the ether where they will remain.
22:16Eric's a little tree hugger.
22:18But I want him to take that tree
22:20and remove the tree and hug his wife
22:23and give me a grandbaby.
22:26But they are not trying to do that right now.
22:28They have dogs.
22:29Yeah, we got dogs.
22:30Tracy was just so amazing with her grandbaby.
22:34She loved being a grandmother.
22:36I love that experience.
22:37I really, really do.
22:38Not just for me, but for my son
22:40and for his brother to be an uncle.
22:43I want to be a grandfather,
22:44but not at the expense of your happiness.
22:47You know what I mean?
22:48But I will tell you this.
22:50That decision isn't really up
22:52to either one of you two at all.
22:54Sure.
22:56It's up to them.
22:57If you really don't want kids,
22:59like you're sure you don't want kids,
23:01you better take that part of the decision
23:05into your hands.
23:06So I mean that wholeheartedly.
23:11Good luck to you.
23:12I'm glad I'm done.
23:14Well, for the record,
23:16I'm just really proud of the men
23:18that you both have become.
23:19Amen.
23:20I'm still going to razz you.
23:22I'm not going to lie,
23:23because I really want to be a duchess
23:26or a mumsy.
23:27I'm not going to lie.
23:30You know what?
23:31She just gave you another reason
23:32not to have kids.
23:33A mumsy?
23:34That's dreadful.
23:35Oh, mumsy, where are you?
23:38Really?
23:40That's what you want to be?
23:41Whatever.
23:43â™Șâ™Șâ™Șâ™Ș
23:48You standing?
23:49Oh, no, I'm okay.
23:50Okay.
23:51â™Șâ™Șâ™Șâ™Ș
24:01Call Scratchy.
24:03Calling Scratchy Scratchy iPhone.
24:06â™Șâ™Șâ™Șâ™Șâ™Ș
24:10Hey, auntie.
24:11Hey, nephew.
24:12What are you doing?
24:13Nothing much.
24:14How about you?
24:15Um, you know that
24:16your mama's birthday is coming up,
24:19so I thought as a surprise
24:23I could have you flown out to Georgia
24:27and have you be here for a little,
24:29you know, a little family,
24:30a little small,
24:31a little quaint celebration
24:34for her birthday.
24:35What do you think about that?
24:37Oh, yeah, I'd love that.
24:39Okay, and I know you gotta be back,
24:41like, soon,
24:43because you have court,
24:44so I'm gonna make sure that,
24:45you know, you're back
24:46before court, okay?
24:47We decided to have Tracy's
24:49second heavenly birthday party
24:51at a hall,
24:52and it's gonna be really,
24:53really small and quaint,
24:54and we decided that
24:55we should get some crabs
24:57and some drinks.
24:58Do you think that Tamar
24:59took care of the crabs?
25:01No.
25:02I don't think so, either.
25:03Well, I don't think that she
25:04didn't take care of the crabs.
25:05Honestly, I don't think
25:06that there are places here
25:07that have L&B crabs like that.
25:09Especially not last minute
25:10when they're off season.
25:11You gotta get them shipped in.
25:12And Scratchy is a surprise.
25:15He's the biggest surprise
25:16as the cherry on top.
25:18Well, good.
25:19I'm gonna go ahead
25:20and book the flight.
25:21Yay!
25:22I'm excited.
25:23And please don't tell nobody
25:24you coming.
25:27I'm gonna try not to.
25:28Uh-uh.
25:29Uh-uh. Ain't no try.
25:31You cannot tell nobody
25:32that you coming.
25:33For real.
25:34So it's a surprise.
25:35It's gonna be a surprise.
25:36Yes, it's a surprise.
25:38Even for my mom.
25:39Please.
25:40Don't tell nobody.
25:41I'm not.
25:42I'm gonna send you
25:43all the information.
25:44Love you.
25:45I love you, too.
25:46Okay, bye.
25:48Shh!
26:07Ooh, excuse me.
26:08Yond all big?
26:09My mouth was like real big.
26:17such a pretty day. It's beautiful. I haven't spoken to Eric since we went
26:24exploring. You know, Eric is Eric is all about family. Yeah. And he would be
26:30such an amazing dad.
26:33Well, that's probably not going to happen. They're adamant. Both of your
26:38sons are adamant about not having kids and they make good points. But what if
26:42something happens in him? Because he is married, he's a married dude. And
26:46sometimes that just happens when you marry. I told I told them both whether
26:51or not you have a baby with your wife is really not up to you. It's gonna be
26:55up to her. If you don't want her to have 100% of that power and that
26:59decision making, then you need to take matters in your own hands. What does
27:02that mean? That means get a vasectomy. That's what it means. You told my
27:06children get vasectomy. If they don't want kids, then yeah,
27:11Vaughn has absolutely overstepped his boundaries. You can't tell my sons to
27:15get vasectomy. Didn't you have Children? Maybe I would like to see what my
27:19grandbabies gonna look like. That's not fair. Not only was your advice not
27:24sound, that's a big negative soldier. We're talking about the kids. If they
27:28both know they don't want kids were condoms or have one procedure, not
27:32worry about that for the rest of your life. I'm just saying that's what I'm
27:35saying. The rest of his life. No, no, that I won't have a grandbaby for the
27:39rest of my life because he hasn't been severance doesn't want Children right
27:43now.
27:45He doesn't want Children right now. Stop pushing. Leave him alone.
27:51You can't influence this. I'm not trying to influence. Yes, you are. But
27:56you know, you give advice. I get to give advice. And when I understand that
28:00they're not listening, I shut up.
28:03These dudes have decided I leave him alone.
28:07Even though Eric and Caleb right now say that they don't want Children, I
28:11think they're gonna change their minds one day because we all know pillow
28:15talk is a M. F. R. When a woman feels like her biological clock is ticking
28:20like that, she could talk a man into anything. It's the truth. At least I'm
28:25hoping that it is.
28:29Yeah, this dog park is really dog parking right now. What does that mean?
28:34The smells, the centerization. It's different, though. Let's go. I need
28:39something stronger than water today. Do you want me to drive? No, I want to
28:43actually make it home, huh?
28:46It's supposed to be a blind date and guys, he has to have a bag and not a
28:52class to be bad.
28:54No one would tell me there was a time that Tamar and Tracy were at odds. You
28:59remember that? Because then you and Tracy got into it for a second.
29:03No, my business.
29:04I have nothing to say about that.
29:10Yeah,
29:13got Tracy's party tonight. Let's make sure everybody is ready, ready, ready.
29:17Talent is finishing up makeup. Tamar is on the way.
29:23We got
29:25all right,
29:27well,
29:34hey,
29:35hey,
29:37hey, thank you. Face. It's so great to see me.
29:41Hey, everybody. Hey,
29:45I'm feeling very heavy coming into this party. Hey, you.
29:51Her first heavenly birthday was only a few weeks after she passed, and it felt
29:59like a funeral. Actually, where's the shots?
30:03This is birthday party this year. I'm still sad, but it's more like a life
30:09celebration for her. And, you know, Tracy was the party girl. You know, she
30:14liked to get everybody, you know, in a good mood and have fun.
30:18Yeah,
30:23somebody's in the hot playing home blowing me.
30:31It's just so so sad. I'm gonna snap one of them
30:39traced like this. Harvest said,
30:42and it's wrong. Turn it off. She wanted to party and do the electric slide.
30:46Excuse me, Mr. Harvest. You play whatever you like, whatever's on your
30:49playlist. But it was a little sad, though. Very at the gates of heaven,
30:55please. It's Tracy's heavenly birthday party, and Tony's unable to make it
31:00because she's in France and she's doing the show. It's going to be an
31:03emotional night, and that's okay. I'm just so glad we're together in doing
31:07this. Let me get the surprise. You want me? No, I said, Let me get the
31:10surprise. What? The surprise? It's a surprise. One says she has a surprise.
31:15Got a surprise. We're gonna bring him up in one. So two minutes. Yeah. So,
31:22yeah, I'm gonna bring in a surprise in one second.
31:27What? How long surprise? You don't like surprise. This whole job. A little bit
31:31of horses. Let's do more action. Let's talk.
31:36Why won't we sit and wait for the surprise? Surprise? Y'all gonna love it.
31:41Surprise!
31:48You might want to move to the one where I'm chest intact, because we're
31:50gonna leave this spot right here. For Tamar? It's for Tamar, exactly. I don't
31:54feel connected to this whole production again. At the time, you and Tracy were
32:00kind of at odds, though. She was upset for a second. You remember that?
32:05Where is Tamar?
32:07It's shedding season, baby. It's time to let go of something.
32:11We're sisters. We're sometimes at odds, and sometimes we're not.
32:20Why won't we sit and wait for the surprise? Surprise? Surprise!
32:31Oh, my God!
32:36Mama, please! Hey, Ziggy Baby!
32:39Oh, oh, oh, oh!
32:51So cool seeing little Kevin. I just think it's important for him to be there to
32:56watch people celebrate his mom, you know, because that's my sister, but that's
33:00his mother. All right, I'm about to tear into some crabs, y'all. And they're not
33:05crabettes. So, Trina, a little bit. I didn't do this, though. I didn't do it. I
33:10guess I'll get a little crabette. Tawanda, you know what? Now, a crabette is a crab
33:15that's very small. It's so small that you have to eat, like, so many of them, not
33:22even to be filled, to be satisfied. You can't really get any meat out of it, you
33:27know? You're just picking and picking and the big, big, big, big, big. It's like,
33:32Are those crabs good? I mean, we are Marylanders, and we are all crab snobs.
33:38I'm such a connoisseur, I can tell. I mean, they're as good as they can be for
33:41some Georgia, you know, last-minute crab. You have to be passionate about your
33:44crabs, or else don't call yourself a Marylander. And scene. Do y'all remember
33:50the last time we had those big old colossal crabs? They're delicious. Big and
33:55juicy. Your mom was in her chair crocheting. We were talking and having
34:01beer and having crabs, and I promise you would not know that she didn't have a
34:07crab. Remember that? She was living her life vicariously. Just wanted to watch
34:11us, because she couldn't eat it. She would always say, eat some for me. Yep.
34:16Exactly. That's how she used to do it. Right here. She was enjoying the moment.
34:20But, Tanese, can I ask you a question? And it might be too personal to answer
34:23now, but what made you stop your life and just be there for her 24 hours a day?
34:30I mean, it's something about when she tells you she don't want to be by
34:33herself, and you're like, huh, I'm not going to let you. Right. I'm going to stay
34:36right here. Because I got there when I found out. So that's late in the game.
34:41So I wasn't, I didn't show up because I didn't want to show up. I didn't find
34:45out until then. I found out by mistake. No one sat me down and told me anything.
34:52I was at home in Encino, and she helped me put my closet together. And maybe
35:02like a couple weeks after that, mommy was in the kitchen cooking. But then I
35:08heard like, the stress. Does that make sense? Have you ever seen your parent
35:16not cry but weep? Mommy was weeping. And I was like, what's wrong? I was like,
35:25what, what, what? And mom said, well, I'm not at liberty to tell you. I don't
35:32know what that means. And I called everybody and nobody would tell me. I
35:39called Trina. I called Twanda. I called my brother. I called my dad. No one
35:45would tell me. And I remember we were all in the living room with the hospice
35:52doctor, the nurse. That's when I found out. He said that she had about two
35:58weeks. Y'all remember that? Yep. You know, for me, that's something that I
36:04still struggle with because I don't understand why I was the last to know. I
36:09still feel like it was a bit unfair for me because I lost time with my sister.
36:16And I feel like anybody would feel that way. I couldn't tell you because Tracy
36:23asked me not to. Tracy said, I will tell her. And what could I do? Just me? Not
36:31you? Tony too. No, Tony do. No, no, no, no, not at that time. Yeah, but I have
36:38your time. We're kind of at odds though. It wasn't. No, we wasn't at odds. Do you
36:43know something? I don't know. Yeah, but I have your time. We're kind of at odds
36:52though. It wasn't. No, we wasn't at odds. Do you know something? I don't know. I
36:58just told you she came and she, she and I did my closet together. I'm not talking
37:03about that time. But like you said, your timeline is different. What were you
37:07saying? Well, no, you said that we were at odds. What do you mean? I'm talking
37:10about when you guys were at odds, especially from that show. Remember NTC?
37:13Nine will remember that. You should call nine because I wasn't at odds with Tracy
37:17at that show. She opened up for me at my show. I don't know. Something to drink.
37:22My mother does. I have no idea what Tamar is talking about. That's why I got up
37:29and excused myself because that's Tamar story. That's Tamar's journey and that's
37:33it. That's her truth. I have nothing to say about that. And I remember it's
37:38because Tamar was like that. She didn't know at a time when Tracy was sick and
37:41stuff. And I, and I said, well, there was a time that Tamar and Tracy were at
37:45odds. You remember that because then you and Tracy got into it for a second.
37:48You're talking about the Howard University, the Howard theater show. Yes.
37:51Oh yeah. Something happened. Oh, you're talking about. Yeah. Yeah. But that was
37:55like a year. But what I'm saying is that she was upset for a second. You remember
38:01that? We're sisters. We're sometimes at odds and sometimes we're not. It's just
38:07what happens in our family. And for me to say that Tracy and Tamar were kind of at
38:13odds, it was a statement of fact.
38:152000 and it was before the pandemic, obviously. Thank you. The Trina situation
38:22is a little difficult, right? Because on one hand she's right. Tracy and I did
38:28have a lot of disagreements if I'm honest about it, but we still very much loved
38:32each other. I just would have liked to have more time being in the space that we
38:40were in when she passed. Um, and that is what I hold on to more than the times
38:46than when we didn't get along. The times that it was beautiful and sisterly and
38:52the laughs that we had and the understanding that we shared. I would have
38:57liked to have more time with that. Why do you feel like Tracy didn't tell you?
39:02I don't know why she didn't tell me. I don't have that answer.
39:07I can tell you on the end being at the house with her, she did not want to
39:13bother me because I kept saying Tracy, let's call the sisters, have them come
39:18in. It was like, I don't want to bother her. So she in her way was expressing
39:24love by not hurting anybody. Yeah. Truth be told, Tracy and I got quite close.
39:30I got to know a different side of Tracy than to how our relationship was on
39:34television. It was very adult. It was very sister like. And the closer that we
39:41got, did I realize how much of this relationship that I would miss? I'm just
39:47going to do a little tribute to Trey. How about that? You going to dance for it?
39:52I'm a dance for this. Today is about Trey. It's about Trey.
39:59At the end of the day, my mom, you did a wonderful job as your daughter.
40:03Thank you, baby. And let me tell you that you are a great mother. And my mother
40:08missed you. Thank you. Appreciate you. You're welcome.
40:14Okay, after that, we're going to do electric slide. Come on, guys. Let's go.
40:22Come on, guys. Come on, come on, come on. We can do it in front of Trey's picture.
40:29Get there. The grandchildren don't know how to do this? Of course they don't.
40:35I don't want to do it. Trina, get on my whole nerve.
40:41You don't know how to do it? I'm not a good dancer. Not a good dancer.
40:45What's wrong, baby? You running out?
40:54Oh, oh, oh, oh. Trina, Trina, Trina, Trina.
41:01You watch too much television. You watch too much TV.
41:07We got it, we got it.
41:13Don't play with me. I'm a lady.
41:19Where the kids? Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
41:23Come on, guys. We can do it in front of Trey's picture. Get there.
41:29Happy birthday, Tracy.
41:34You know, life is just way too short, and I'm learning to be grateful for the wonderful family I have today.
41:40So thank you, Tracy. Tracy's birthday is a day of remembrance for me.
41:46I want nothing more than to celebrate her.
41:49Happy birthday, Tracy. You are so missed by so many.
41:55I think you're even missed by your enemies, baby, because you got it and had it like that.
42:03I get happy when I think of Tracy's memory, or I just crack up laughing at some of the things she says, and that helps.
42:09I'm definitely there in spirit. Happy birthday, Trey.
42:14To Tracy.
42:16Bye-bye.
42:26Tracy is a strong woman.
42:39Next Friday on The Brackets.
42:41The Brackets are back!
42:43How has filming been so far?
42:46Aren't you setting something up for me?
42:48I'm gonna do it. It's your date.
42:50You ready?
42:51Ready, Freddy.
42:52I'm always gonna be Toni Braxton's son, but Denna Braxton. I want that to mean something as well, you know what I mean?
42:57What?
42:58I got, like, betrayed.
43:00They were talking, and then the phone blacked out.
43:03The Braxtons, all new next Friday at 9.30, part of For Real Fridays on WE tv.
