00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. was the first to distribute aid and services to the people of Ilocos Norte.
00:07This was part of the 1107th celebration of his father, former President Ferdinand Edralin Marcos, Sr.
00:16Kenneth Paciente is at the center of the news.
00:20Growing up as a Filipino is a legacy left by former President Ferdinand E. Marcos, Sr.
00:28to the current President of the country, President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.
00:32According to the President, this is the lesson that he will always be a guide, especially to his leader today.
00:37The President gave this along with the celebration of the 107th birthday of his father today,
00:44which was held in Batac, Ilocos Norte.
00:46When I look back now, the life that I have led, and I see what is the guiding principle that I can learn from my father.
00:55When things are confusing, when things become so complex, what is the essence of service that my father taught me?
01:05And that is very simple, but not easy to achieve.
01:10But it is simple, be a Filipino, serve the Filipino, protect Filipinos and the Philippines.
01:19The President also introduced his father's leader who, according to him, is now serving as an inspiration.
01:25His first foray into public service after his university and his law school was as a soldier, as a soldier during the war.
01:37Where he was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to defend his country and his people.
01:44Despite being a full-time executive, the lesson that his father left will not remain as an inspiration.
01:49Instead, it will be a part of his work.
01:52In fact, the President has delivered various services to the people of Ilocos Norte, along with Marcos Day.
01:58The President is leading the distribution of 69 ambulances in the town of Pauay,
02:04and providing assistance under the Kapos Angkita Program or AKAP.
02:08He is also distributing agricultural, fishery, and veterinary intervention to farmers, fishermen, and livestock raisers.
02:16That is my continuing goal.
02:19That is the cradle that we should live by.
02:22And for that, I will be eternally grateful to my dad for the lessons that he taught us.
02:31For the values that he imbued in our very souls.
02:37And that has served us all well.
02:40The President and his family are also part of the Nat-Nateng Cook-Off,
02:44where various cuisines from various places in Ilocos Norte are served.
02:49The President also hosted the celebration of the Ilocano Music Festival for his birthday on Friday.
02:55Kenneth Paciente, for Pambansang TV in the new Philippines.
