00:00So when we think about even when Roe v. Wade was in place,
00:03access to abortion care in this country was out of reach
00:06for far too many people, right?
00:08And so now that we have Roe out of the picture,
00:11which we did not need it out of the picture,
00:12we needed it to stay in place,
00:14but we knew that we needed to expand it.
00:16We are now seeing that this is now creating
00:18an even deeper healthcare crisis in this country
00:22because this is now also affecting maternal healthcare,
00:24right?
00:25Because we also know the stats there
00:26that black women are dying at a rate four to five
00:29or 12 times higher than white people,
00:31white women rather, and white pregnant people in childbirth.
00:34And we know what that is linked to.
00:36We know what that's linked to racism.
00:37We know what that's linked to just not having proper access,
00:40but all of those things are coming into play now.
00:43And we are thinking about,
00:44now we're also seeing how this is connected
00:46to criminalization because people are scared
00:49around this country that they don't know
00:51exactly what's gonna happen.
00:52If they need to go to their healthcare provider,
00:54will this healthcare provider be targeted, right?
00:57Because they are trying to give them access to healthcare.
00:59Also in that debate, we heard a story, right?
01:02That came from vice president Harris
01:03because she has been on the road.
01:05She has talked to so many people,
01:07including organizations like mine,
01:09about what is happening around abortion in this country.
01:12And people are dealing with miscarriages
01:15and dealing with other healthcare issues
01:17that where they need access to care.
01:19And because of this deep criminalization issue
01:23that's also attached to abortion right now,
01:25we're now seeing that people are being scared there.
01:27So healthcare and this branch off
01:29that people have like overly politicized abortion access on
01:33is becoming a major contributing factor
01:36to how people are thinking about
01:37what they're gonna walk into
01:38when they walk into these polls.
