00:00As we've said a couple of times before, there are wins and then there are wins.
00:04And there's been three of them in the last month and a half.
00:06The Little League classic game.
00:08Tigers came from behind and won that game
00:11on a national stage with all the kids.
00:13The Tigers were as in awe of the Yankees as the Little Leaguers were.
00:17Then there was the Parker Meadows Grand Slam in the top of the ninth in San Diego
00:23to on a 3-2 pitch going the other way
00:26to come from behind to win that game four to three.
00:29And then there was last night.
00:30Give up a Grand Slam early.
00:32They scratch and claw and chip away and win a dramatic game in Kansas City.
00:37Seven to six.
00:39Scott Anderson, when did you pump your fist or yell the loudest?
00:42What was the moment? Because I had a moment.
00:45I think the loudest.
00:47Wow. I think it was the double play.
00:50When they turned to double play.
00:51So we're talking about the was at the bottom of the eighth.
00:54Bobrisky pitching first and second, nobody out.
00:59Let me double check.
01:00Risky gets a strikeout on a 100 mile per hour pitch.
01:03Bobrisky touching three digits.
01:06Although I guess technically it was ninety nine point five.
01:08They rounded up on a graphic to 100.
01:11And then the next pitch was the double play.
01:15The ground ball to Cole Keith flipped it to Sweeney, who put a throw in the dirt
01:18and Torc scooped it.
01:20No, that wasn't it. That wasn't it.
01:22Of course. OK, I was like, was there another double play?
01:25You just described everything that happened.
01:27OK, I was just making sure it was no, that was I that may have been.
01:31I mean, that's the bottom of the eighth inning.
01:33You're hanging on to a one run lead and and you get that.
01:37I mean, that's it's just wildly impressive
01:40the way that they were able to go about doing it.
01:42And I don't know.
01:45There were so many moments where the fist was raised in the air.
01:48Explosives flying out of my mouth with the word.
01:51Yeah. That follows. Blank. Yeah. Yeah.
01:54Um, the windows open in my house last night.
01:58Neighbors all around.
01:59I should check the next door and how the dog handle it.
02:03She stayed outside. She was like, you're crazy.
02:05You are nuts. I'm staying outside.
02:07And she's nuts for other reasons.
02:09Looking for chipmunks in the middle of night.
02:11But it was it was loud in my house and there were lots of moments.
02:15And, you know, it's when you see.
02:19When you see players come up to the plate and you just dread.
02:23Tigers have there's like a laundry list of players
02:25that have haunted Tiger fans for years, and Bobby Wood Jr.
02:28is going to be that guy.
02:30He's right there with Jose Ramirez.
02:32I don't want to ever pitch to Jose Ramirez.
02:35I don't ever want to pitch to Bobby Witt.
02:37And I'm watching as things are unfolding and I'm like, oh, crap.
02:40They're going to have to face with what are they going to do?
02:42And he comes to the plate.
02:44And I think it was the was it the seventh inning?
02:47Yeah, it was the seventh inning.
02:48And I'm like, just walk him. Just put him on base.
02:51You don't need to pitch to him. Just put him on base.
02:54It's it's, you know, it also keeps a double play in order.
02:58And that's one thing I didn't need to double play.
03:00I guess you could have used one there, but just just put him on there.
03:03It's OK. Runners at first and second.
03:05I'm fine with it with one out. That's good.
03:07But no, they battled him.
03:09And Will Vest hung in there.
03:13Yeah, he did.
03:13And I mean, Witt almost ripped the double or triple down the left field line.
03:18But he didn't. It was foul.
03:20Just a strike.
03:21And then it gets him to pop up.
03:23I was pretty loud.
03:24That was a loud moment, too.
03:26Really, really a hell of a win last night for our Tigers.
03:29And here's our question.
03:31248-539-9797, as we like to do here on the Carson Anderson program.
03:35We like to rank things on a scale of one to 12.
03:38And if you're not at a 12 right now, why not?
03:43Why not?
03:44Because this is all the makings of everything that a fan base would want
03:48in terms of intensity in September baseball.
03:51I looked at Upgater one year ago today.
03:55OK. OK.
03:56You may remember this.
03:57The Tigers are playing the Angels.
04:00And they were 12 and a half games out of a playoff spot.
04:03That's one year ago today.
04:06Two years ago today.
04:09The Tigers had a game schedule with the Chicago White Sox,
04:12and the Tigers were 25 games out of a playoff spot.
04:14Oh, boy. Three years ago today.
04:17The Tigers were playing the Tampa Rays and they were 12 games out.
04:21OK, so here we are on September 17th.
04:25They're a game and a half out by the end of today.
04:27They could be a half game out of a playoff by tomorrow.
04:29They could be in a playoff spot.
04:32In a playoff spot, let's just say they're game and a half out now.
04:36And they are indeed a game and a half out now.
04:40And last night was one of those games that,
04:43I mean, they fall behind four to nothing.
04:47And I mean, Colt Keith comes up in the first with runners on first
04:50and second, two outs, pops out.
04:52Comes up in the third with the bases loaded, two outs, grounds out.
04:57Comes up in the fifth.
05:00Down five to with a runner at second.
05:04Yatze, he goes yard.
05:05And it was great to see Colt Keith come through the brisky appearance
05:10where he puts two on with nobody out, reaches back and finds 100?
05:15100.
05:18And they were talking, it's funny, because Andy Dirk's on the broadcast.
05:22He was talking specifically because it was brisky, he was pitching,
05:25and he said, you know, he's he's got that 95 an hour heater,
05:28but he can dial it up to 97 and then boom, he hits 100.
05:32Wow. Yep.
05:34Well, now they're going to dial up to 97.
05:37He can take it up another notch.
05:39And it's just I think that tells you.
05:43How the players are feeling right now.
05:45And there's adrenaline pumping through these guys
05:47because they've got an opportunity in front of them
05:48and they want to capitalize on this.
05:50They did not.
05:51Now, Torkelson, after the game, said they didn't know
05:54or that he didn't know anyway that Minnesota had lost.
05:56He's like, I didn't realize that they had that scoreboard out there.
05:58I don't know if I buy it.
05:59But, you know, for Tork's sake, maybe he doesn't.
06:01But somebody had to know that Minnesota had lost
06:04and that everything mattered towards the end of that game.
06:07They needed to take advantage of this.
