00:04:05A packed Murrayfield, expectant, anticipating a cracking match between the surprise package
00:04:12of the tournament Western Samoa and the home team and favourites Scotland.
00:04:18Anatalia Ailupo, the fullback for Western Samoa, places the ball on the centre spot
00:04:24and prepares to kick off. And this surely the most intimidating atmosphere the Samoans have yet faced.
00:04:35Derek Bevan gets the game underway, Ailupo kicks long.
00:04:40A slight breeze in the favour of the Western Samoans, the ball going over the dead ball line
00:04:45and Gavin Hastings just getting a first feel of the ball and chipping it forward
00:04:52to his brother Scott under the posts. Important to get hands on the ball first thing
00:04:57and Craig Chalmers, the outside half, who had a fitness test earlier this week, restarts for Scotland.

00:05:32It sure is Alistair, Scotland certainly nailing their colours to the mast in the manner in which
00:05:37they're going to take on this Western Samoan pack. There's a lot of energy that has to be sapped out
00:05:43of the Western Samoans early on in this game from a Scottish viewpoint.
00:05:47Intriguing though how Scotland use Gavin.
00:05:52The first scrummage of the match, Mr Bevan unhappy about that.

00:05:58Well they certainly can but what is interesting there from the Scottish point of view
00:06:02is that they kept the ball in their hands. They are running into this wind, this very stiff breeze
00:06:06at the moment and they're keeping the ball in the hand just as they're doing at the moment.

00:09:3210 out of 10 for the way he fielded the ball and held on to the possession
00:09:36and looked for the supporters coming in.
00:09:38And Scotland certainly were penalised quite rightly for going over the top.
00:09:42But goodness me, what an idiotic thing to do to speak back to a referee
00:09:46when Scotland had shown so much character there,
00:09:51how they started to get into the game.
00:09:53And the discipline was fabulous.
00:09:55And then one daft move, the discipline has gone.
00:09:58And we're now steering a three-point deficit.
