20:19And of course, the punishment that you suffered at the hands of Vader at
20:22the international incident.
20:23Given all the recent circumstances,
20:25all the things that have been happening to you,
20:26do you feel at this time that your world is beginning to crumble in around you?
20:30Well, I think that there's some people that might say my world crumbling
20:35down around me might be a little melodramatic.
20:37But I certainly am facing adversity.
20:42But in the past, Shawn Michaels has dealt with and
20:47come through when dealing adversity.
20:49So I think at times like this is when I'm my strongest.
20:54I've never told anybody I was unbeatable.
20:55I've never said I was invincible.
20:57Shawn Michaels, the Heartbreak Kid, is like every guy walking the street.
21:02It just so happens that I'm a superstar in the World Wrestling Federation.
21:06This is the way that I make my living.
21:09I can be beaten on any given night.
21:11I freely admit, I felt the Vader bomb.
21:14He beat me.
21:15But at SummerSlam, he's gonna have to face me one on one.
21:19And I'm never out there alone.

21:24And like I said, as long as I have that with me, I can take on anybody.

21:30you're gonna be giving up over 200 pounds of weight.

21:44Going into the match, there are always concerns.
21:48And anytime you step in the ring, and for me, there's a great many concerns.
21:54There's a fear of getting hurt.
21:55There's a fear of, more importantly, losing World Wrestling Federation title.
22:00I can't emphasize enough how much being World Wrestling Federation
22:05champion means to me and has brought to my life.
22:09And there are a number of people that may think that's awfully shallow, but
22:13I've waited for a long, long time to be the World Wrestling Federation champion.
22:16And I've waited for a long time to enjoy my life as World Wrestling Federation
22:19champion.
22:20But the fact of the matter is, to beat Shawn Michaels,
22:23you have to beat me and all the people that are behind him.
22:26And so far, there hasn't been any superstar in World Wrestling Federation
22:29that can do that when it comes to the World Wrestling Federation title
22:33being on the line.
22:34Ever since you defeated Bret Hart at WrestleMania, many of your critics
22:39have claimed that the victory over Bret Hart, while an impressive one,
22:43was maybe a little tainted, the overtime and the Iron Man matchup.
22:49Bret Hart has spoken on several occasions about
22:52possibly coming back in the near future.
22:54Do you have any words for Bret Hart?
22:57Well, for Bret Hart, I hope that he does return to the World Wrestling Federation.
23:03The World Wrestling Federation without Bret Hart is like peanut butter without
23:06jelly, so I am as much awaiting the return of Bret Hart as the fans of
23:12the World Wrestling Federation.
23:13And as far as the critics and
23:18the way I won the World Wrestling Federation title, well, they're critics.
23:21That's what critics do, they criticize you.
23:23So I'm certainly used to that, and it's something that you're gonna get no
23:28matter how well or how badly you do this job.
23:31As the World Wrestling Federation champion,
23:34everybody's gonna take their shots at you.
23:36Now, Shawn, later on tonight at Raw is the Raw Invitational Battle Royal.
23:39The winner of the Battle Royal gets a shot at the WWF Champion the day
23:43after SummerSlam, any thoughts?
23:45Well, that situation to me personifies why I'm the only guy in
23:51the World Wrestling Federation that can be the WWF Champion.
23:54Because I just don't think there's another superstar in the WWF
23:58that could take on this schedule.
23:59That could go out there at SummerSlam, face a 450 pound man, and
24:05then be asked to face another top notch superstar in the World Wrestling
24:09Federation the next night, on top of the schedule that I already have.
24:15And Vader, make no bones about it, he is one tough customer.
24:20But the next night, he could possibly lose that title on Raw.
24:24World Wrestling Federation is filled with very competent superstars, but
24:29there's one shining star above all the rest, and I like to think that it's me.
