00:00Samsung Galaxy S22 in 2024. In this video, we're going to find out if after two full years, this is still a viable and usable phone.
00:11As always, we're going to start by talking a little bit about the exterior design, which, as you can see, is quite similar to the previous model, to the S21,
00:21with only a few small shape differences on the side edges to make it more ergonomic.
00:26I've already said it many, many times, and I will say it again. Without a doubt, this is the most beautiful design that Samsung has ever created for one of their phones.
00:37And it is also the perfect size, because at 6.1 inches, which, funny enough, is the exact same size of the new iPhone 15s and 14s, it is super comfortable to hold with one or two hands.
00:50It fits in your pocket, it is not too heavy, it just feels like the right phone size to use, which is something that you should take into account,
00:58because I see a lot of people that just go buy the more expensive, bigger model, because it has the more features, without considering that that phone is usually very big, very heavy, and very uncomfortable to use with only one hand.
01:10So, if you're one of those people who spend a bunch of time in the streets walking around, you have to take the phone out of your pocket and use it while you're walking, while you're moving,
01:20I think it is a better choice to go for the less pro, less future-packed model, like the S22, because it's going to be a lot more comfortable to use.
01:31But anyways, let's move on to the internal components.
01:34More specifically, let's talk about the processor, which, of course, is the best processor you could find on any Android phone two years ago, the Snapdragon 8 Generation 1.
01:46So, of course, the speed and fluidity that you're going to feel when using it are as flagship top tier as it gets.
01:53There's no game that can't be played at maximum settings, there's no application that doesn't open instantaneously, it is as good as it gets.
02:01In fact, right now, in 2024, it doesn't differ that much from what you can see on the current model, on the S24.
02:08I would actually say they both feel almost identical.
02:11The only gripe that I have is that, as many of you know, this processor runs a little hotter than it should, between two and three extra degrees to be more specific.
02:22And although this is not going to affect performance, and it's not going to be very noticeable when you have it in your hand, I thought it was something that you should know.
02:31And by the way, speaking of things that you should know, you need to know that the S22 right now has a super, super low price on Amazon.
02:41I left a link in the description, and I heavily recommend that at the end of the video you go check it out, because it has been receiving price cut, after price cut, after price cut.
02:50So, yeah, at the end of the video, remember to click.
02:54But anyways, let's move on to the battery, a very positive feature on this phone, since, as you can see in the test, it is as good as the Galaxy S21 and the S20,
03:05which were already very good phones in terms of battery capacity and durability.
03:09Samsung has been working hard for the past couple of years to make the batteries on their phones not suck.
03:15And I think they've done a pretty good job, because not only they don't suck anymore, but they're also amongst the best batteries in the market right now.
03:23More specifically, it is going to give you between seven to eight hours of use, depending on the things you do with it, which I believe is more than enough for the majority of people watching this.
03:34And unless you spend the entire day outside of the house, and you spend the entire day using the phone, you're not going to have any issues with the S22.
03:43But hey, let's talk about the display, another very strong point on this phone, because in this case, it has everything.
03:52And everything is everything.
03:54120 Hz, 1300 nits of brightness, and extremely thin bezels.
03:59The only quote-unquote downside of the display on the S22 is that it doesn't have a 1440p panel.
04:07It is only 1080p, which, I mean, for some people, it might be a big deal.
04:12But I've had both phones side-by-side, and I've looked at each other's displays, and I can't notice the difference between 1080 and 1440, because it's a phone.
04:21It is a very small display.
04:23So the number is lower, sure, but don't let that discourage you.
04:26I mean, it's the same thing.
04:28It looks the same.
04:29But anyways, it's time to talk about the most important component on the S22, the cameras.
04:36As you can see, I'm recording right now with the main sensor, and it looks amazing.
04:40As you can see, there's a lot of bulk effect, dynamic ranges through the roof, detailed colors.
04:47It is, like, in terms of bang for the buck, this is unreal, because it's almost identical to the quality of an S23 or S24, but the price is less than half of those phones.
04:58So if you wanted a very good camera for a little price, this is a very good deal.
05:04More specifically, we get three cameras on the back.
05:06We get a main sensor with 50 megapixels, which is the one you're looking at right now, and then we get a 10-megapixel zoom camera and a 12-megapixel ultrawide.
05:16As always, I'm going to leave you with another minute of photos from all of the cameras, zooming in so you can see the details, and then I'll come back to give you my conclusions and talk about the selfie camera.
06:58Okay, so yeah, those were the camera results from all of the cameras, and I have to say,
07:28in my humble opinion, at least they are amazing.
07:31Look at this.
07:31Even the selfie camera is good.
07:33Look, 4K video recording, insane dynamic range for a selfie camera.
07:37You can see the sun, and you can see my face.
07:39You can see everything in the shot.
07:41This, a couple years ago, this was impossible.
07:44So yeah, if you were wondering if the S22 was good enough in terms of camera for you, don't worry about that, my man.
07:51It is good enough.
07:52It is more than good enough.
07:53It is incredible.
07:55It is unreal.
07:56So, conclusion, is the Galaxy S24 worth it in 2024?
08:02Well, yes, it is.
08:04It is very worth it, because for the most part, it packs flagship-tier phone features for what, as I said earlier, is like a mid-to-low-end-tier phone price.
08:14So bang for the buck-wise, it is incredible.
08:17So yeah, now that the video is over, you can go click the link and check that amazing price.
