00:00Samsung Galaxy S20 in 2024.
00:04In this video, we're going to find out if after four full years, this is still a viable
00:10and usable phone.
00:11As always, we're going to start by talking a little bit about the exterior design, which
00:16as you can see, it is quite similar to the previous model, to the S10, with only a few
00:21small shape differences on the side edges to make it more ergonomic.
00:26I've already said this many, many times, and I will say it again, without a doubt,
00:31this is the most beautiful design that Samsung has ever created for one of their phones.
00:36And it is also the perfect size because at 6.2 inches, which funny enough is the exact
00:41same size of the iPhone 15s and 14s, it is super comfortable to hold with one or two
00:46hands.
00:47It fits in your pocket.
00:48It is not too heavy.
00:49It just feels like the right phone size to use, which is something that you should remember
00:54because I see a lot of people get the bigger ultra model that's huge, super heavy because
01:00it has the most amount of features, but bro, you're not Shaquille O'Neal.
01:04You don't have huge hands and that phone is very complicated to use with one hand and
01:09trust me, I've tried it.
01:10Then in terms of the internal components, it obviously has the best of the best from
01:15four years ago, which in this case is the Snapdragon 865, the fastest and most capable
01:22Android processor when the Samsung Galaxy S20 came out.
01:26So the speed and fluidity that you're going to feel when using it are going to be very,
01:30very good, especially considering the age of this phone.
01:33There's no game that can't be played at maximum settings.
01:36There's no application that doesn't open instantaneously.
01:39It is as good as it gets.
01:41In fact, right now in 2024, it doesn't really differ that much from what we can see in the
01:46more recent models like the S21 and S22.
01:50Maybe it is not going to be able to play console level games like the latest and greatest iPhones
01:55and soon enough Android phones, but for absolutely everything else, the experience is going to
02:00be impeccable.
02:01Oh, and by the way, well, this has nothing to do with the processor, but I also believe
02:07it's something you need to know and it's that the Samsung Galaxy S20 right now has a stupidly
02:13low price on Amazon.
02:16I left a link in the description and I heavily recommend that at the end of the video, you
02:20go check it out because I mean, I've never seen it so low and for the phone that the
02:25S20 is, this price is insane.
02:27It's almost like a steal.
02:28So yeah, remember at the end of the video, click the link, but hey, let's move on.
02:33Let's talk about the battery life, a very positive feature on this phone since as you
02:38can see in the test, it is as good as the Galaxy S10 and the S21, which is awesome because
02:44those two are very good phones in terms of battery capacity and durability.
02:48More specifically, it is going to give you between six to seven hours of use depending
02:52on the things you do with it, which I believe is more than enough for the majority of people
02:56watching this, unless you spend of course the entire day outside of the house and you
03:01spend the entire day using the phone.
03:03But hey, let's move on.
03:04Let's talk about the display, another very strong point on this phone because even though
03:10it is four years old, this display has everything and everything is everything.
03:16120 Hertz, 1300 nits of brightness, OLED panel with extremely thin bezels and it gets even
03:24better because weirdly enough, it has a 1440p panel as opposed to the 1080p panels on the
03:31S21, S22 and S23, which is a little bit weird, right?
03:37Considering those are better, more expensive and newer phones and that they have a lower
03:41resolution display, I don't know why Samsung has decided to lower the resolution of their
03:46modern phones, but yeah, if you're into sharpness, extreme sharpness, the S20 is going to be
03:52better than the S23 for some reason.
03:55Less money, better display, you can't lose.
03:58But anyways, it's time to talk about the most important part of the phone, the cameras.
04:03As you can see, I'm recording right now with the main sensor on the S20, which looks incredible.
04:09As you can see, there's a lot of detail, very good colors, dynamic range.
04:13The only downside with it is that because it's a little old, it doesn't have as big
04:17of a sensor as the new models like the S23 or S24 and therefore we don't get as much
04:22background blur.
04:23But for everything else, it's very comparable to the top tier models from this year.
04:29More specifically, we get three cameras on the back of the S20.
04:32We get a 12 megapixel main sensor, which is the one you're looking at right now.
04:36We get a 64 megapixel zoom sensor, for some reason it has a ton of megapixels.
04:42And then we get a 12 megapixel ultrawide camera.
04:45As always, I'm going to leave you with another minute of photos from all of the cameras,
04:50zooming in so you can see the details, and then I'll come back to give you my conclusions
04:54and talk about the selfie camera.
06:32Well, those were the results from all of the cameras.
07:01Very impressive in my humble opinion, especially the ones on the main camera.
07:05In terms of dynamic range and detail, it's very close to what we can see on the newer
07:10phones.
07:11And that also applies, as you can see, to the selfie camera, which I'm using to record
07:15right now.
07:16And even though we don't get as much dynamic range, the sky is a little overexposed.
07:20But this is very impressive.
07:22I mean, you can see my face, you can see the trees back there.
07:25It is not completely ruined like it would be on older cameras.
07:28And this is a selfie, very tiny selfie camera.
07:31So yeah, if you were wondering if the S20 is good enough or not, it is, especially considering
07:36the price and the age of the phone.
07:38So conclusion, is the Galaxy S20 worth it in 2024?
07:43Well, yeah, I mean, I believe it is very worth it.
07:47It is priced as an entry level phone, as a basic Xiaomi or Motorola phone.
07:53But it has very, very premium features because it was a very premium phone when it came out.
07:58I mean, it has 120 hertz, 1300 nits of brightness, 1440p panel with very good cameras, very good
08:05battery life.
08:06And by the way, now that the video is about to end, it is the perfect time to click the
08:11link that I left in the description.
08:13Remember, as I said earlier, Amazon link, amazing price, you can't lose.
08:19It's free, you can click it, it's free.
