00:00As a three touchdown favorite today at home against South Carolina, Kev, how does Alabama
00:06respond to a loss?
00:07Well, I don't go off of the Saban samples, I'll go off of the DeBoer samples.
00:12And while it's not as long, it is about as small.
00:17Since he took the job at Washington, that loss that he had was his third in the regular
00:22season.
00:23Again, Kalen DeBoer has proven to be excellent.
00:26However, the two losses that he had at Washington were not followed up with, hey, we got this,
00:34do not worry.
00:35They lost to UCLA.
00:36They went to Arizona State, no problem, we're laying 15 and a half, oops, they lost outright
00:41by seven.
00:42They gave up 45 points.
00:43Yeah.
00:44Well, then the next week, no problem, we're laying two scores to Arizona.
00:48They won by 10.
00:49They didn't cover.
00:50They gave up another 39.
00:51My bet in this game is South Carolina's team total over 14 and a half, if it was 13 and
00:56a half, it's a full best bet.
00:58At 14 and a half, I think they go through it, but I'm a little bit more cautious on
01:02the chance that Alabama in a show-up spot under DeBoer looks different than Washington
01:08in a show-up spot under DeBoer, where it's more defense first than offense first.
01:13But South Carolina scored 30 plus points against Kentucky, against LSU, and as I mentioned
01:18with the Ole Miss game, they moved the football a lot more than the three points scored suggest.
01:24But I also think it is on the board here, Lacey, that this game is a super shootout
01:28because Jalen Milrow is still leading the country in passer rating.
01:34Jalen Milrow, I still think, play for play, has been one of easily the five best quarterbacks
01:39in college football, and Milrow off the first SEC loss in his career, I expect to dazzle.
01:46I think this game's in the 60s.
01:48To take one from you, I altered it as high as 65 and a half.
01:54That has to make you proud.
01:55Yeah, no, I love it.
01:56I love the look.
01:57I can only look Alabama here.
01:58I'm not as confident in regards to South Carolina in regards to this matchup.
02:03I think they have an identity problem in regards to their offense.
02:07They only scored three points.
02:09I understand earlier in the year, they were throwing it with Sellers, Robbie Ashford took
02:13over when he was hurt, and they had some consistency, putting up 50 against Akron.
02:18But here's the problem.
02:20Again, long third down situations.
02:23Offensive line has allowed 22 sacks on the year.
02:25I just see Alabama's front seven pinning their ears back, getting to Sellers, getting to
02:30Ashford.
02:31I don't care who's back there.
02:32The offensive line, for me, is a main problem for South Carolina.
02:35I think Milrow does eat in regards to this matchup.
02:38I think he throws it to open up the rushing attack later.
02:42I see probably 40 to seven.
02:44I lean to the under, but I'm not playing it because I don't like South Carolina's
02:49offense right now.
02:50So now let me ask you, because I think if you're going over here, there has been a lot
02:54of concern about this Crimson Tide defense in the last six quarters.
02:58They gave up more than 500 yards of total offense to Georgia.
03:02In the last six quarters, second half against UGA, last week against Vandy, who had more
03:07than 400 total yards, and Pavia accounted for 300 of those 400, 67 points, 784 total
03:15yards.
03:16The Crimson Tide are converting it 54% of their third down rates.
03:21And Lee Seaguy, last week, you talked about an Alabama team pinning its ears back.
03:25They did not sack Diego Pavia, and they are now the third worst rushing defense in the
03:30SEC, allowing more than $1.28 on the ground.
03:33Where must Alabama improve first and foremost defensively?
03:36Well, front seven, right?
03:37You got to be more physical.
03:39I think that's the biggest change from Nick Saban to Kaelin DeBoer.
03:42But this is the perfect opponent, guys, to get right.
03:46We'll see if it plays out.
03:47I still believe under DeBoer, get right means Milrow puts 40 points on any opponent.
