04:55Let's get our swole on.
04:56First, let me explain some advantages of the chest machine.
04:59Its proper name is the chest press machine, by the way.
05:02Even if you're just visiting a gym to check things out,
05:05be sure to give it a whirl.
05:07While bench presses certainly work out your chest muscles,
05:10you also end up using a number of other muscles in the process.
05:13You're putting pressure on the pectoralis major,
05:16the deltoids,
05:17and the triceps.
05:18That's a big portion of your shoulders and upper arms.
05:21In contrast, a chest machine's fixed path eliminates the need
05:25to keep your balance during the workout,
05:27freeing up several muscles that are used in bench presses.
05:30Since you're locked in place,
05:31you're also less likely to make any errors in form.
05:34The machine is designed to apply direct pressure to the chest itself,
05:37so it makes for a laser-focused workout
05:39without any unwanted strain elsewhere.
05:42Some days you'll want to use free weights,
05:43and other days you'll want to use machines,
05:45but both of them are powerful friends to have on your fitness journey.

12:29Hold tight and suspend yourself in the air, bending your body forward slightly like my assistants.

12:40Bend your elbows and slowly lower your body without touching the ground.
12:45This is what's referred to as a negative movement.
12:48Aim for ten dips.

13:02Be careful not to rely on momentum as you raise and lower your body.
13:07Swinging too much not only upsets your stability, it also decreases your resistance by as much as half.
13:14If you can't do regular dips, never fear.
13:17Simply position your feet on the floor like so and place your hands on the seat of a chair.
13:22This exercise is called a reverse push-up, and it works out the same areas!
13:27Like the dip, the negative movement is specially important.
13:31Focus on lowering your body as slowly as possible without easing up.
13:35And once again, don't use your momentum!
13:37Dips are perfect when you want to work out your chest and your triceps.
13:41You can do bench presses and dumbbell presses at the gym,
13:45but if you would rather spend the day at home for a change, doing dips or push-ups can be nice.

13:53It's important to work out your body, but don't forget to work out your mind as well.
13:57A true champion possesses both brain and brawn, so aim for the top!

17:57Even if you can't go swimming, you can still get a killer workout.

18:02The exercise we're learning today is called a burpee.
18:05It works out your whole body and it doesn't even require equipment.
18:08It's a high-intensity aerobic exercise, so it's a great way to burn fat and improve your cardio at the same time.
18:15First, crouch, placing both hands on the ground.
18:18Then stretch your legs backwards like so, and assume a push-up position.
18:23While you're down there, you can do a push-up if you like.
18:26Then jump to a crouch and return to your original standing position.
18:31It's more effective if you jump at this part.
18:34Repeat these movements as fast as you can while maintaining control.
18:38It's pretty intense, especially for beginners.
18:41But aim for three sets of however many you can manage and work up from there.
18:45Warning! Burpees require a lot of movement, so if you're at home instead of on the beach,
18:49be sure to check your surroundings carefully before you let loose.
18:53Burpees are good for your body from head to toe.
18:56Now let's get swole on the beach together!
